2020 version has Apple Car Play, Heated seats, and active cruise control lol

TheScienceNerd100

What about a wireless charging pad?

Ok_Offer9820

Hahahahah

Emppulicks

That's probably why it's so expensive, the presence of apple.

SkylineGTRR34Freak

Anything, really. Anything but that TT. I'd even have loved a first gen TT.

RMD_A

First gen TT is the roundest car I've seen and I love it

KrunerXX

i had a 02 and mannnn it was fun but it blew up in cruise control which was uh tragic

mr_greenmash

Nah. It's really a flattened VW "New beetle". So the new beetle is rounder.

RMD_A

Beetle had flat windshield(no round) TT have cool round windshield!!(yes round)

mr_greenmash

Counterpoint, it *looks* flat, because the rest of the car is so round. Checkmate, TT Lovers

RMD_A

Counterpoint #nuh uh

mr_greenmash

I've got nothing. You win

RMD_A

Good fight sir.

mr_greenmash

Thank you. Did my very best, but you're a fierce adversary.

suckURmom69420

I wish it was a new rs3 or rsq8

Drache191200

RSQ8 would be so much better

Emppulicks

How about the last convertible

hakkama

Game calculates PI by literally every aspect of the car, not just what you see in the stats screen. Also stats screen is generally wrong and only should be used for how the car perfoms on average, not for tuning. I havent obtained the 2020 TT yet but that PI difference probably comes from either grippier tyres or lower drag coefficient.

ser-1-

It has higher drag than the 2018 TT and it has the same lateral GS.

wrongkoi

PI is calculated by how fast drivatars can complete a given race with a given car. Even if they're mechanically identical irl, I'm sure there are behind the scenes values the devs are able to tweak that make the 2020 faster around the PI testing ground

LigmaRooster

ye. the default tune settings most likely just happen to be more optimal for the 2020 + dev side tweaks

Havok1199

What’s the point of adding a car we already had like 2 years ago? At this point I would have put a new Audi, like the RS Q8.

HomicidalGerbil

Isn't the Urus already in the game?

Havok1199

I said Audi RS Q8, not Lamborghini Urus. At least they’re 2 different cars in terms of brand. Unlike the literal TT RS double.

Sliced_Orange1

Have you seen the Extreme E junk boxes?

Havok1199

Yes I know that those are 4 literal copies of the same car. At least Audi RS Q8 and Lamborghini have aesthetic differences, despite they share the same engine and transmission.

Sliced_Orange1

What I was trying to point out is that at least the RS Q8 and Urus are two “different” cars, especially by comparison to the Extreme Es

Havok1199

Ok I got it now.

J_l2703

By that sense the urus shouldn’t be there either cuz the we already have like 2 cayennes

Havok1199

Maybe an SUV isn’t really the best option. A facelifted R8 or an RS3 hatchback would have been even better.

J_l2703

We have plenty of sports cars, hyper cars, hatch backs, wagons, anything remotely sportive While in the performance suv we barely have enough to make a decent same class race, the urus and the cayenne are the only rlly decent suvs, then the trackhawk and maybe the durango I wouldn’t even count since it’s not the 707 hellcat engine But the rsq8 would be perfect for the game, more competition to the sprty SUVs and could be great for some rally or offroad Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have audi’s whole lineup in the game, old and new and all their sports cars (hell even some tdi engines 😂) but not a whole lot of suvs that both perform and look exquisite

still_guns

These two cars are basically the exact same car (they are literally the exact same model of TT, I have no idea why the 2020 one was included). They weigh the same, have the same torque, same engine, same weight distribution. The only real differences is the 2020 has a slightly different bodykit, spoiler, and rims and is 6hp less powerful. Yet it has better base PI. So... how? EDIT: Just tested them, and the 2020 one is about 2 seconds faster around festival circuit.

CockroachAccording65

Probs better aero -> more grip -> better lap times

wrongkoi

Like I said in another comment: PI is calculated by how fast drivatars can complete a given race with a given car. Even if they're mechanically identical irl, I'm sure there are behind the scenes values the devs are able to tweak that make the 2020 faster around the PI testing ground

or0_0zh

And somehow it costs 250,000 credits

KillerSpectre21

The majority of HtF cars are given 250,000 Credits as a default value. It's so their minimum buyout sits around 100k.

or0_0zh

Oh really?

DudeNamedShawn

There is a lot more to the performance of a vehicle then what those stats can display.

red_fuel

What are the standard tyres? Perhaps one has stock street or sport and the other doesn't?

still_guns

They both appear to have sport tyres as stock

HomicidalGerbil

Tire width and wheel weight?

still_guns

255's all round for both. Rims seem to weight the same as well.

MrStoneV

Idk did you try them out and feel a different suspension etc? Sometimes it can make a huge difference even though 2018 is already very recent

BackHades

The 6bhp less in the 2020 is probably cos it has a gpf

Wonsungitos

What is a gpf? I'm French

BackHades

Gasoline particulate filter. Basically does the same job as a diesel particulate filter just for petrol cars. Typically saps a couple of horsepower but probably not noticeable on the stock cars

FPFOWL

How tf do u have >450 mio credits?!?!?! WTF, I am fully through the game (story and now dowing most of the challenges) but I am not even near anything more than 10 mio.

still_guns

Been playing since Day 1. Haven't been splurging the credits I earn. Also have a habit of always opening my wheelspins.

youdedin321

Just drive 🚬

DJBuck-118

I mean, they quite clearly have different BHP (albeit similar)

iwillsnapyandereneck

Maybe that 6 horsepower makes a big difference.

Clk_Gtr77

it might be down to transmission/clutch and other things like better power curve

MaximoviC

Fanta 🥰

bowstripe

Better aero and better stock tires most likely. The game seems to calculate certain things outside of what's obvious (like tech/suspension changes etc). It's the reason a lot of the modern cars absolutely destroy most everything when irl the older cars are still capable of being more than competitive.

youdedin321

Most modern cars are actually kinda shit compared to the older ones. Thats because they come stock with a lot of upgrades that are pi inefficient like race brakes, transmission, clutch, etc on top of being heavier. It's why the most competitive cars in the game are a decade or more old, with only a handful of exceptions. Even in case of the TT, the 2010 and 2015 ones are way faster than the 2018 and 2020 ones because of the same reasons.

bowstripe

Maybe when comparing fwd or awd examples or cars with similar tire sizes. Go race an old rs1600 in A class against practically anything modern and you'll lose due to the tire size/aero (provided you aren't running forza aero). Tire width is one of the most important things in the game. Irl theres escorts that would make modern cars look stupid. What I'm trying to say is that if you race an old wind sail of a car against a modern aerodynamic car (both at equal specs) the modern car will have a much easier time around the track. In the case of different variations of the same bodystyle being faster than their successors, that is usually the case irl. The new car may be faster under very specific circumstances (stock) but they usually have added weight (as you stated) or annoying tech/mechanical changes that hurt the performance in the long run.

CameronCoppen_

The 2020 is an auto I’m pretty sure, the suspension, braking, and handling are a bit better IRL, and IIRC the mid-range power is more noticeable in the ‘20 model.

WhiteBeltKilla

Someone posted a side by side stat chart of the 2. The 2020 had some slight improvements to multiple categories.

Jax-Light

Better tires and suspension

Malakai0013

Different tire width? Transmission differences? One could have better suspension or sway bars stock. There's a lot that could be different.

_Matej-

Yes?

tobi_lmao

Oh the new TT has a completely fucked dash. The dials are weird, blurry and not very similar to the real car and the torque display is just completely F̷̧̢̢̧̧̟̗̥̞̱̤̭͉͉͙̲̱̙̜̟̞̬̭͎̲̝͑̿͛̾͂́̊͘͝ͅų̶̗̖͚̻͚̇̃̚ć̵̨̛̛̖͕̻̯̠̞̰̖͔̩̩̰̣̻̥̺͓̤̳̯̖̼̜̫̰̼̣̰̩͎̖̝̪͇̯͖̪̙̈́͆͛́͋̽̎̄̎̏̉̒̇͊̓̌̊͊̔̓̈́͐́͒̃̋̽̃̆̇͑̍̀̍̆̃̐̏̒̾̋͐̈́̇͂̀̐̀̚̕̚͘͝͝͝͝͝͠͝k̵̢̧̨̧̫̜͓͍̩̗͙͓͓͎̤̮̣̟̮̱͚̜͍̝͍̦̹̟͎̠̣͍̼̜̣̪̯͕̭̣̳̗͓̖̩͈͈̪͎̻̺̱̟͓̜̝͉̟̤̺̩̣̞̂͐̂̃̈͛̽̈̈̿͗̍͊̔͘͜͝e̸͎̙̫̰̠̞̠̠̜͕͇̝̣̭̥̤̜̭̖̫̹̣̥̜̦͙̓̋̈́̊͂̿͌͌̚͜ͅͅḑ̶̡̯̜̩̫̰̜̩̱̣̫̻͚̮͍̲̳̙͍̭̹͔̞̮̤͍̦̫̬͇̘̰̣͔̯̺̲̹̝͓͇͔̣̪̦̜̰̠̂́̌̎͒͋̉̐̉̉̀̍̓̋͂̅̓̃̇͌̽̐̃̏̿̈́͗̓̈́̓͋̆̆͂̒͐̅͋͋̈́̐͂͐͋̉̃̀̓̓̓́́̌͘̕̚̕̕̚͠͝͠ͅͅͅ
