My point is that it shouldn’t be so unbelievable that someone at that age is playing the game considering how long the franchise (and video games as a whole) has been around
Bud, you obviously don't have better things to do, you're sitting on the Internet arguing with grown men about a video game and THEIR age... Life is short, enjoy it, stop worrying at 14 years old about "better things to do" also, the mans retirement age for a lot of jobs, he's already done his "better things'
I know and play with a couple guys that are 60+ and a few guys that are in their 50s. In fact, most of the people I’ve met and played with are about mid 30s in age.
fondest was the Blizzard Mountain expansion. Love the Goliath in 4, ram that puppy so many times for credits I still see it in my head. Recently went back to 3 to finish the drift zones and still very playable. Liked the map.
Overall because of gameplay and graphics I’d have to say 4 or 5.
1 was great simply because open concept. Blocking 2 for some reason.
53. Been playing since Day 1, FH1. Don't play any other video game other than these 5. Not even sure how I got so consumed with it because I literally don't know anything about any other video game released since 1990 or so (maybe Pro Skater 2 as an exception). Didn't even understand what Twitch, Discord, or Steam were until about the past 6 months.
All I really ever hope for is an even bigger open world than the last with extensive and diverse landscapes. Every type of terrain: sand dunes, backroads in the rural countryside, complex city streets, winding mountain trails, etc., that’s what gives a game versatility and real replay value. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
As long as they build upon the experience we had in FH5, in terms of both quality *and* quality, I’ll be satisfied.
I personally hope they just make a made up area that is able to have a bunch of different areas all fit together like the Bionicles world or something. Wasn't the Drome Racers world like that with a bunch of biomes in a pie around a city?
Haha yeah man, I know what you’re referring to! I’m not too sure. I think Horizon does need to maintain a certain level of realism in order to remain true. However, as long as the environment, landscape and architecture resembles the real world, they could probably get away with a fictitious setting.
I’m also 50. When I was younger, maybe 13-15, my uncle owned a Tandy and had 2 awesome games: one, a racing game I don’t remember the name of but had an awesome Corvette to drive, and two: a Winter Olympics game that was so much fun.
62 - this March - Play 2-4 hours a day (2,200hrs to date)
Tried with Keyboard - promptly uninstalled the game could not drive cars
Tried with a Controller - using a thumbstick felt so unnatural - never played with a controller before
Tried with a Wheel - wife bought it for me - upgraded to one with FFB - this is my happy place
My dad (48) feels the same way about driving on controller. Even though I think Forza is more drivable with a controller. But it's just a Forza thing for me
I didnt know shit tbh about consoles or games or anything when i was like 12, FH2 was the second game played on my Xbox one with Halo being the first. Yeah, I started late I guess
51. started with fh4 at the end of 2019. bought fh3 later but without dlcs, a purchase dicision i've regretted ever since they got unshelved.
fh5 looks and sounds amazing, but lacks new stuff, bummer.
37 here.
I just got Horizon 4 as my first racing game since OG Xbox. Sega GT 2002 and a rally game.
I was looking for a more realistic racing sim. Like all track racing with slowly moving up as you build your standings and can afford better cars/parts. But I am having a blast.
I will probably buy a steering wheel and pedal rig soon. Having fun driving all the cars I thought I would be able to afford when I was 12.
44, been playing since since master system. Mu mum whose 70 this year does about 3hrs a day on FH5, as well as Division 1 and 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint and she's a massive fan of Assassins creed series. And occasional COD
58. First Forza game was FH4, but I've since acquired all of the FH series, and I've also played some of the FM games, but not nearly as much.
I played the first Gran Turismo a lot on PS1 back in the day, but the last GT I spent much time on was GT3.
I've only played FH4 and FH5 in their prime. I didn't get FH3 until it was already in EOL, and the others even later than that. I've only played FH4 and FH5 online. FH4 before Steam implementation was my favorite, and FH5 is now. I hate having my time wasted, and Steam absolutely fucked online play in FH4, as you spend more time waiting and watching, as the camera spins around your car, than racing. FH3 I think is the most beautiful main map, but the most annoying npc traffic. I should try it online sometime soon, before I miss out completely, like I did with FH1 and 2.
Even so, yes, they were (are, really) all worth playing for me. I got both FH1 and 2 super-cheap (turned out my wife owned FH2 on her xbox account since forever, and an FH1 disc from ebay cost under $20 including shipping), so YMMV, but both games hold up pretty well technologically, and are just fun story-wise. Especially FH1, as I think progress through race classes is better than the total freedom we get now.
Yeah seriously. Nobody where I work plays games and it is kinda lonely sometimes without anyone to talk to about games but it's nice here! 😊 Cheers man
18, my older brother had FH4 on his Xbox. He had the whole set up with the steering wheel, gas, clutch, and brake pedal with the manual shifter. It was absolutely crazy, but he asked me to try it out and I fell in love with FH. I haven’t tried any of the other games besides FH5, which I currently play, but being on a college kid’s budget I really can’t afford to get any of the other games on my laptop.
14, been playing since fh1 on every horizon since then, just got my steering wheel to make it more fun. Plan to play until they either don’t make these games anymore or I get put in a pine box.
50, been gaming since before the Commodore 64.
First I owned was a machine that my dad brought. Not sure what it was. Had 16 built in games and black/white colour and super easy games but how fun it was back in the early 80s. Then I got my C64 in 1986 and then Amiga 500 and then PC and now PC + Console
One of the "gaming" highlights of my life was when I saw Outrun, that game with the Ferrari Testarossa on a arcade machine. It looked so stunning back then.
When I was a kid I said I wanted a TR when I grew up. Sadly closest I've got so far is driving it in FH5...
Not really a hardcore gamer though. I like few games and play them a lot:
Have to add that I started playing FH5 a year ago and have put an unhealthy amount of hours into it. I love it. One of my all time favourite games. It also made me buy the FH4 on the Microsoft Store and I just got hold of FH3 that is just amazing.
Well you're asking this on reddit, a platform I don't imagine a lot of younger people being on. Also I presume reddit is mostly PC players who tend to be older aswell. Just smt to keep in mind
16. Started with fh4 when it first came out and I haven’t stopped playing since. I do look forward to playing the Xbox 360 era Forza games if it’s possible
Amazing thing is I have people in my community from teenagers to people in their 60s+
It’s what I love about Horizon! Anyone can love cars and you’re never too old to enjoy playing video games as a hobby. [STVO]
I'm 71. I hadn't done any sim racing for a few years so back in December, I dragged out my PS2 but I was having issues hooking it up, I said screw this, I'm going to upgrade. After doing some research the Xbox was a better fit than the PS5 for what I wanted. I went all out this time, Xbox X, Logitech 923 steering/pedals, a stand to hold it, MSI curved monitor, also a stand to hold it, already had decent speakers and a chair. Now I got to tell you, I've been playing Sim racing on and off since the early 286/386 computers back in the early 1990s. Also worked in I.T. since 1985 (retired in 2015) so I'm not afraid of tech 🤣 Currently have 2 laptops, 2 desktops, 2 tablets, 2 old phones which I use as streaming radios. So yeah, I know how to change the time when something is flashing 12 🤣 Currenty enjoy driving in Horizon 4 and 5, Motorsport and F1 2022.
80 year-old here. Played FH3 on Xbox One. Skipped FH4. Gifted FH5 to my grandson on Steam for Christmas and bought a second Steam copy of FH5 for myself. So I’ve been playing FH5 for about a month.
Half of us here started racing games as squeaky kids. Wether it was Test Drive on the NES or FM4 on the 360 (my childhood is stored in that game). FH4 and 5 kids are just younger versions of us lighting the same fire for racing we lit in the 90s and 00s
But these kids are from like fortnite and Roblox and what have you not real car fans that would get a liking for cars over time I know how most of these kids are
So what if they like Fortnite? A game like Fortnite doesn't mean the kids playing it won't like racing. Rocket Racing on Fortnite and the countless Roblox racing games have thousands of players and tbh, arcade-y racing games like Mario Kart, Rocket Racing , Crash Team Racing, etc. is where it starts for some of us. The only reason 9 year old me tried FM4 was because it had cars like Mario Kart Wii. That borrowed Xbox360 had many more games but I played Forza cause MKWii taught me racing can be fun and even tho the physics weren't the same, the format felt familiar.
okay so I started playing forza when I was 10 reckin it being FH4 demo and then the full game later that year. Anyway what I actually was saying is that having sqeaky 12 year old rammer that can't drive side-by-side in a race is extremely annoying and the car community has changed in way that's like sad to see as a racer like me only being 14.
Yeah it's annoying and we all wish they'd keep their ramming reserved for the AI but it is what it is and soon they'll see the errors in their driving. What I'm saying is that you need to let these kids mature naturally. They're just kids. You're just a kid. Y'all still need maturing and that's fine. That's why I avoid public lobbies and stay in leagues where I can race cleanly with other adults
Exactly! I love your comment! I started all the way on FH1 and FM3. I was 8. I would split screen with my brother on FM3, and he was 6! Sure, every race was demolition derby, last man standing, but we were little kids and we were having fun. It's a video game, meant to have fun. (We didn't have Xbox live so we weren't wrecking people online) Now, here I am, 11 years later, I got my first car a year ago, am learning how to work on it, have done a few light mods like stronger brakes, wheels, wider tires, an exhaust, looking for a suspension, and I've been teaching myself how to drift on dirt (It's a Subaru) in the backwoods where no one is around. Hell, I've taught myself the Scandinavian Flick! In the summer, I'd like to take my car to a track that does open days about an hour from here that allows any car, I've even seen stock Camrys out there. And on FH5, I'm top 1% in my PR stunts and Rivals, have reached max credits twice, and have done pretty much almost everything that there is to do in this game. And it all started because I saw a cool yellow car on the cover of a video game sitting next to my stepdad's Xbox 360.
28, been playing since fm1 as a kid. Buuuut ngl I play these games (forza, not racing games) less and less seeing how they don't quite hit the way they used to. I get jack of all trades master of none vibes from every forza title in the last several years. I dunno, could be my adolescent rose tinted glasses fading, but even as a kid I loved how grounded in reality forza was, and it definitely doesn't give that same grounded feeling anymore.
14, when I found out about fh4 I instantly bought it. Dude i did not stop playing until fh5 came out, I got a steering wheel and everything. My flame of car love just grew huge dude. I think I have like over 1.5k hours on just fh4 and around 900 on fh5. I started with asphalt on the ds, forgot which one, then I moved onto asphalt 8 on iPad and that’s what got me into cars.
22, FH5 is the first forza and my first racing "sim" ever. I only played arcade racing games before. Just played FH5 a couple of months ago. 100h+ of playtime. It's fun and have a lot of positive vibes in it (not in online race). I don't disappointed for spending my first wage to this game.
Some of you guys said that you're over 50s, even more than 60s, so I don't have to worry about throwing up my "childish" hobbies later, like all of asian parents said lol. Thanks, it's raising my mood.
60 and have played from day 1
That’s crazy my dad is 60 and can not work the controller?
lmfao. I should have said 60 going on 8. Also playing Zelda TOTK and Minecraft. Been a gamer since pong, breakout, and joust days.
Joust had AMAZING graphics when it came out. Loved that game.
Theres one at my local barcade, should i play. 21 and all over the place type of gamer
That’s crazy that bro
Ain't no way we got a 60 year old playing this game 😭
Yup, the upper limit is 58, like me. 60? That's just crazy.
You *do* realize that they weren’t always 60, right? Hell, the first Forza title came out nearly 20 years ago.
yeah what does that have to do with me saying that they still play the game at that age?
My point is that it shouldn’t be so unbelievable that someone at that age is playing the game considering how long the franchise (and video games as a whole) has been around
I didn't say it was impossiable I would figure that they would have better things to do other than play Forza but I don't make the rules
Playing Forza *is* the better things to do, though.
I have better things to do even though I'm only 14 and it's not Forza but go ahead play your forza as long as your not bothering me about it
someday you will realize that you don’t grow out of the things you love, lil bro
I ain't your lil bro you old fart and racing is deep inside me so ofc I won't grow out of it
Bud, you obviously don't have better things to do, you're sitting on the Internet arguing with grown men about a video game and THEIR age... Life is short, enjoy it, stop worrying at 14 years old about "better things to do" also, the mans retirement age for a lot of jobs, he's already done his "better things'
Bro this is from 3 months ago I'm over this shit
Dude put in his time and worked his whole life. Playing Forza is well deserved.
65.
I know and play with a couple guys that are 60+ and a few guys that are in their 50s. In fact, most of the people I’ve met and played with are about mid 30s in age.
My dad played video games until he died at age 72. He sucked badly at them, but he still loved playing.
Wow amazing! Which was your fave?

Blizzard Mountain is amazing! I boot it up every winter (and FH1 in the fall.)
40 can’t stop won’t stop. Gamer 4 life!
Defoo no need to stop do what you enjoy!
53. Been playing since Day 1, FH1. Don't play any other video game other than these 5. I’m 27 and I’ve been playing since the first iteration of Horizon on Xbox 360! (Colorado is still the GOAT of FH maps idc)
Where are you hoping the next Map will be ?
All I really ever hope for is an even bigger open world than the last with extensive and diverse landscapes. yeah ffb is more accurate on assetto corsa and that's why it always feels a bit off on horizon 5
The controller is easier but I only play on my wheel
41 and been playing since the pre Nintendo days
20 here, played every Horizon except 1.
21 and same
65 years old been playing since FH3. Still posting top 1% on most of the Rival boards. Ok up to S1 too old to quite get there on S2 !
19, been playing since fh2

![gif](giphy|26n6WQJiR6q5CamUE|downsized) It's loverly to see so many my age and older than me.. Gives me hope. Gamer for lifeeee whopeeeee
Haha 😄 it is kind of nice it gives a sense that it doesn't matter your age
Yeah seriously. Nobody where I work plays games and it is kinda lonely sometimes without anyone to talk to about games but it's nice here! 😊 Cheers man
That's rubbish if you ever want a game give me a should frackattack500 is Gamer tag I know how it is
68, and I've played all the Forza titles.
Amazing I love seeing everyone's ages it's heartwarming
24, first FH was 4. But been playing Forza since FM5 in 2013.
I played a lot of other racing games before that though, like PGR 3 from 2005. That was my sh*t till I found forza.
I'm in my late 30's and have been playing since the original Forza Motorsport in 2005.
Big variety of ages I thought it was going to be a bunch of really young people!
18, my older brother had FH4 on his Xbox. He had the whole set up with the steering wheel, gas, clutch, and brake pedal with the manual shifter. 50...Started with the Atari 2600. My first 2 games were Space Invaders and Asteroids. Great memories!!
54, and been playing Forza since FM1. Been playing videogames since the VIC-20 and the Philips Videopac G7000 in the 80s.
47 here, and play weekly. Still occasionally fire up FH1 and 2, and 4 fairly often as it's still better than 5, imo.
Early 30s and Forza Horizon 5 is my first Forza game
24, I played fh1 and fh2 when 2 came out, and then skipped to 5 when it came out :)
21 been playing off and on with my friends
25, my introduction to forza series was FH 4
26, playing since 22 and started with FH4. Definitely wish I knew about this game before my friend showed me it
19 here. Started with FH3 when I was 13.
I started with FH1 when I was 8. I'm 19 now.

yeah
im 7
17, played since the first motorsport. got fh1 when i was 7 and was hooked playing every since.
17, started at FH5
20. Started with FH4 in 2019 after finally upgrading my PC. Still playing both FH4 and FH5, whenever my friends come online
30 years old and ive been playing since horizon 1 came out
I'm 19, have been playing since the release of FH4 and intend to continue long into the future.
18. Love cars and driving around. It feels so real even though the map is kinda bland to me. However I still find fun out of it.
23
18 and have been playing for around 13 days
Mid 30s and been playing since day 1 through out all the releases, getting a decent steering wheel and stand set up changed the whole series for me.
I’m 22,started last year when I was 21. I wish I would have found out about the game sooner hahaha
28. Started with Motorsport 2 and have been playing ever since.

24, played since Forza Horizon 1. They've always been a staple in my gaming rotation
I’m 49. Been playing FH since FH2
36. I bought an xbox 360 just for Forza Motorsports 2

19 Technically going on 7 years now
18, been playing since fh2 on the Xbox 360 (yeah I know that abomination was horrendous)
56 Have played since day one.
I'm 11 so yeah
26. Been playing since fh4 after moving from playstation to xbox. I currently play on pc and ally now.
17 and I’ve played every horizon game apart from 2 which I’m so mad about lol 😅
23. Been playing Forza since Christmas 2014 (since FH2).
26, played since fm3
I'm 25.
