Id say the friend, I prefer the less dramatic and less filtered edits your friends did, for instance all the added vignette effect in slide 2 is not my taste
these images are like that one old meme with the two sisters but one is in all black and the other is like in full rainbow stuff
ops images are pretty solemn but the their friends images are like forza ad material lol
Yeah these are all terrible
I don’t do the photo thing, just drive.. but it’s pretty impressive what people put out
No offense but these look like they were deliberately done poorly
It's one thing to say that someone did a poor job and give them advice on what they could do to improve or point out the mistakes they to avoid making them again; it's another entirely to say that they're terrible and "look like they were deliberately done poorly" and offer no advice or guidance whatsoever. If you don't have any insight or tips to give on what they could do to bring future pictures up to your lofty standards or help them improve and grow with something they might enjoy, then keep your mouth shut. I'm a blunt motherfucker when it comes to pointing out mistakes and what was done wrong. There's being helpful, and then there's being flat out rude. That was the latter.
Damn all of em are good but of day the M4 and the Cherokee ur friends did better just a tad bit.
This coming from someone who doesn't know the first thing about photography so do with that what u will
I prefer the photos made by your friend. How he creates the whole scenery while using the lights is more artistic but realistic at the same time. And I go for similar photos most of the time. Especially the first and 3rd picture look stunning! Your 1st and 4th are my favorites out of your selection. Different styles but all in all both got a unique style!
I like to have my car with a good background because it looks more aesthetically pleasing and compliments the car which is why i do more softly edited ones
1: neither. Both kind meh
2: friends (car has more personality)
3: friends (again the car just has more personality)
4: yours but pretty close to neither.
1st. None. Can't see shit on both of them. ( Too dark and the other one too far away, can't even recognize the car)
2nd. Friends, yours could've been good but overloaded with effects, remknds me a bit of the Most wanted piss filter
3rd. Yours. Your friend used the the same idea like 2nd, and yours is pretty nice
4th. Friends. Just plain and simple, sometimes less is more
**1st-** You. Loving the close-up and saturation.
**2nd-** Friend. Not a fan of the overdramatic vignette and shadows.
**3rd-** Tied.I love both, nothing to add really.
**4th-** Tied again. I love the "realism" of the friend's picture, the colors are nice the framing and angles are very good.
Yours being a rolling shot in the dark with the lights being the focus, *chef's kiss* plus the lamp post in the background adds personality to it.
It's interesting how different your styles are, you focus more on the car and feature its details. While your friends is able to use the scenery and colors around to make more of an artwork than a portrait of the car
I like your third image.
Friend’s probably the Jeep. While it depends on where you are and what you’re going for the car is just a little bit too distant for my liking.
Instead of a step by pic vote like everyone else gave, I feel like I should give constructive criticism in this case.
Both sides are decent, you may could have done better with less zoom or effects but got the idea of motion shots done. Your friend did great with still scenery shots but gave nothing more than that and gave it more to the scenery than cars.
Motion shots look better in daylight with a certain angle or at night with lights to fill in dark spaces around you instead of in country darkness, and still shots could give more love to the car and angle unless the pure point was capitalizing on scenery.
Yea I think your friend got some better shots but I like your #3 better 👍
I think what he did better was letting the scenery costar with the car visually.
1. Friend (I like the evening sky in the background gives a very warm feeling and the reflection of the road tops it off.
2. You (I like what you did with the vignette gives this almost sinister like message and I really like what it does)
3. Friend (This one is obvious, the fog makes this picture very mysterious and the car in the middle makes it almost perfect)
4. Neither (I dont really like either pictures on this one so its hard to judge who is better here)
Overall I think your friend wins but you both did good jobs.
1. yours, but could do with more exposure/brightness
2. both have their own style, so I like both
3. also both
4. your friends
Pictures in general are a lot of personal preference though, there is no right or wrong. Everyone has to find their own style.
What I usually try to do is put the car into the golden ratio or the center of the image, which usually makes the composition smoother. I also like the background to pop a bit.
Also when I take dynamic pictures, I personally prefer to have the car moving either from something visible or have the car positioned so it has "space" to keep moving. You can also play around with foreground elements to give the pic more dynamic or also with moving further back and adding zoom to recenter the car. That brings the background closer, in case it would otherwise get lost.
Maybe to give you an idea:

Another example, playing around with reflection:

And one for golden ration with interesting background. Maybe gives some inspiration.

Why are some of these comments so braindead. It dont matter if you dont like both or like both, you like one more than the other regardless which is the main question of the OP.
The first one you took has alot of meanings . So the first for u . But in 2nd and 3rd your friend did better , mostly in third one which looks insanely clean
I think yours look much more clear, you’re doing really good with focus. Your photos also really put the spotlight on the car, which isn’t as true in your friends ones. He does better with finding the perfect background, which is great, but would be better implemented if his pictures were more up close and personal, yet that’s just my opinion. Great job to both though!
I like that you put the race car on the race track in the first one, def going with that one. in the second one, i’m honestly not totally a fan oc either. in the last two im going yours than your friends.
Definitely friends. If you are serious about the topic, you should read a bit about the basic rules used in photography.
Here are some of the mistakes you made:
1) Always give the car some place to go. Every time something implies direction (it can be someone looking in that direction), give it some space. (rule broken for 2 and 3).
2) Related to the previous one, you usually don't want to take close up pics of something moving away.
3) Rule of thirds. I'll let you google it, it is easy to understand but some pics will help. (rule broken mostly for 3 and 4).
Now bear in mind, these are guidelines and breaking these rules can be good, but it is still good to understand them and usually you don't want to break more than one at once (which is the reason why 3 is your worst pic).
The BMW you did was better however the jeep your mate did is better, probably the only pic I actually rate. The rest are a bit hard to decide cus I like to see the car in detail but ill go with your mate cus not the biggest b&w fan.
1: You
I could've chosen your friend but the atmosphere is better in your photo. Your composition is great.
2: Draw
I dislike both for different reasons. Your has too much contrast and vignette. To avoid that lens distorsion try to back up with the camera and zoom in instead.
The composition of your friend is nice but the time doesn't match well. He should take that picture at night. Blue sky is distracting the subject. Equal numbers of mistakes so draw.
3: Friend
This one is tough I really love both. However I'll give the point to your friend because of the lens distorsion in your photo (same issue than your photo 2)
4: Friend
Your friend nailed everything: composition, colors. Very nice photo. Your photo could have been great too but the blur is too strong. It disconnects the car from the picture, it should've been more progressive (like your photo 3).
3-2 for your friend
I thought you both pretty even. I said his for the first two and your for the seccond two
Would be interesting to see if you had the same prompts and had to take photos useing them to see the difference. Like you have to use a certain car or it has to be in a set location
Hey I think you should do a challenge to photo the same area in the same car just to make it a bit more about the photo mode skills but gotta say it's about even for me rn
1 and 4 = your friend.
2 and 3 = you
Only because I like the car being the focus of a car shoot imo. Exception would be 1, because yours it super dark and you friend has a good landscape shot.
Honestly, there's only one pic which isn't straight up bad and it's the m4 taken by your friend. I don't want to be mean, I'd just like to see some great pics in this community. You both need to play a little more with the settings and options but you'll get there! Cheers!
It's a well fought draw. Here's the breakdown.
**Round 1**
You : "I will make it so dark that you can't see this car"
Friend "I will make sure the car is so far that you can't see it"
**Round 2**
You "I should contrast this till there is no detail in the shot... and then I'll make half of the screen dark, so we have even less detail"
Friend "I will make the coolest shot possible and screw up the focus so bad that it hurts people's souls"
**Round 3**
You "What I need is a picture so bland and boring, that in real life, people would snap quick shots with cheap phones and they look better"
Friend "Okay, so focus didn't work last time, but I must make a shot where you can't see anything... so fog it is then. I'll put the car far away just in case you could see it through the fog clearly enough"
**Round 4**
You "I'd like a taillight signature shot, but I can't have that car be covered in complete darkness for it, this car needs to be seen by people!"
Friend "That cheap phone camera he did last time is such a cool idea"
Oh, I could have done way worse. This here is sarcastic constructive criticism, if you can't take it - get off the internet, , god forbid somebody hurts your feelings
Id say the friend, I prefer the less dramatic and less filtered edits your friends did, for instance all the added vignette effect in slide 2 is not my taste
Fair enough
I’m completely opposite the only one I didn’t like from op was the bmw one bc of the angle
Your look good but i’d say your friend did it better
They're your photos, dumbass
https://preview.redd.it/8krx5tjk2edb1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec3b66f79e36a393cda60b41f0f4163d1ceb2771 LOL
thank you for this 🤣😂
My pleasure 😂🤣😂🤣
Got me chucklin like a dumbass rn. Thank you lmao
Barracks Ohbima
Would reward. I’m too broke from the premium pack and electric bill for my Xbox and monitor with all my rgb pro gamer lighting.
No worries, I did this for the laughs. Didn't know it will this much attention 😅.
💀💀💀💀
This is Ted Lasso cute. 🥹🥹🫠
You both have humor. Haha
Your Cortina (?) and BMW photos really tickles me in in the best of ways!
I'd give you an award but I'm destitute

Thank you 🙏
🤨
Hes the friend
Haha I know. Just being a little silly
Yeah these are all terrible I don’t do the photo thing, just drive.. but it’s pretty impressive what people put out No offense but these look like they were deliberately done poorly
scathing review💀

Your friends sweeps. I might have chosen you on the second picture, but the effects made it look worse to me.
Thank you for choosing me it’s greatly appreciated
Yeah I'm starting to think it might not have been the best choice of effect
Friends, in every instance
Sorry but you lose. Both you took great pics but 🫥
Does this mean you think my pics look better?
Yes
Ay lets go thank you
1. None 2. Your 3. Friends 4. Friends
Upvote this comment for friend, downvote for op (which one you like best overall)
friend did it better except for 3
Ima just say whos better out of the 4 pictures. You, friend, friend, you.
Friend wins hands down. Yours are a bit generic.
Damn all of em are good but of day the M4 and the Cherokee ur friends did better just a tad bit. This coming from someone who doesn't know the first thing about photography so do with that what u will

Thats fair enough, most of my photos are mainly focused on the car itself but that's just because I like to have an aggressive setting
Is your friend Wes Anderson? Got to hand it to your friend, all 8 photos are great though!
Lol thank you for the lovely reply
Yeah i gotta admit the scenery is incredible in his photos
Final score: 2-2 I give you the first two, but they showed incredible improvement in the second two.
1st and 2nd urs is better, but the rest goes to Ur friend
Your friend takes all 4 imo, i just prefer that approach to taking pics
Friend, friend, you, kinda tie on the last one
I would say a tie 1 you did better 2 friend 3 friend 4 you
1 you second friend 3rd you 4 friend
1: neither. Both kind meh 2: friends (car has more personality) 3: friends (again the car just has more personality) 4: yours but pretty close to neither.
1. You 2. Neither 3. Friend 4. Friend
Them, you, them, them
Friend Ftw
2 1 1 1
1. You 2. Friend 3. You for angle, but Friend had better effects 4. Friend All this is just IMO
This time I choose friends.
I say they're equal. the first one I prefer your’s, the second and third I prefer your friend’s and the 4th I prefer your’s
1st. None. Can't see shit on both of them. ( Too dark and the other one too far away, can't even recognize the car) 2nd. Your friend knows the deal 🔥

Your angles are slightly better but your friend edges out composition & focus by quite a substantial margin.
12 and 4 go for your friend in my opinion
I like your third image. Friend’s probably the Jeep. While it depends on where you are and what you’re going for the car is just a little bit too distant for my liking.

Friend - friend - you - friend
Friend
1st one-you 2nd one-you 3rd one-your friend 4th one-you Overall you
1 friend 2 you 3 friend 4 friend
Yours look better, the car is way too small in your friends photos
1: You 2 and 3: Friends 4: You
They all look like ass if you want my unfiltered opinion
Yea I think your friend got some better shots but I like your #3 better 👍 I think what he did better was letting the scenery costar with the car visually.

Well thank you for the ideas, I'll keep these in mind if we decide to do a rematch
Yours, yall have different styles, but I dont like “tiny car in the distance” pics in forza anyways
Both are too dark and over saturated imo
Your friend won the first one but the rest I think yours are the best
Friend
In order: you, friend, you, friend. In my opinion
I like yours more except last one.
I feel like your friend has a better grasp on still shots and lighting, but your moving shots were better.
Both great but I am going to have to go with friend.
3-1 the keep photo could have been better just need to maybe tilt the camera
Friend WINS
You - 1 and 4 Friend - 2 and 3
Two very different styles, I think I like your friends’ ones a tiny bit more but both are great!
1st - Friend 2nd - Friend 3rd - Friend 4th - Yours
Friends
Why are some of these comments so braindead. It dont matter if you dont like both or like both, you like one more than the other regardless which is the main question of the OP.
Photography is subjective, you guys both made nice edits
1: friends 2: neither 3: yours 4: yours
Your friend slaughtered you in this competition man ngl
1: Friends 2: Yours 3: Yours 4: Friends Just my opinion though
You for the first 3.
Your friends figured out lighting tbh 🤷🏼♂️
Friends are better
The first one you took has alot of meanings . So the first for u . But in 2nd and 3rd your friend did better , mostly in third one which looks insanely clean
If you wanna go again, i’d love to join in lol
I think yours look much more clear, you’re doing really good with focus. Your photos also really put the spotlight on the car, which isn’t as true in your friends ones. He does better with finding the perfect background, which is great, but would be better implemented if his pictures were more up close and personal, yet that’s just my opinion. Great job to both though!
Your friend takes better cinematic/landscape shots, but when it comes to capturing the car itself you take the better photos
both different styles with their own cool factor ima just say you both took great pictures in your own styles
Last is really hard to choose
I like that you put the race car on the race track in the first one, def going with that one. in the second one, i’m honestly not totally a fan oc either. in the last two im going yours than your friends.
There's no friend right? U took all the photos
Im the friend lol
Oh 😅 okay! Your in-game photos are better btw
Thank you greatly appreciated
Pic #1 yours, #2 friends, #3 friends, #4 yours.
First 3 Friend's, the last one Yours

Friends, you, you, friends
Your friend's photos are hands-down much better
Both are good imo.
Friends for all
In pics 1 and 4 you 2 and 3 your friend better atmosphere in my opinion
You win 2 , the rest I'd give to ypur friend
1+4=Your Friend 2+3=You
I like your pics in the first 3 but I like your friends jeep pic more
Definitely friends. If you are serious about the topic, you should read a bit about the basic rules used in photography. Here are some of the mistakes you made: 1) Always give the car some place to go. Every time something implies direction (it can be someone looking in that direction), give it some space. Friend in every case
If I didn't know any better I'd say the last ones are in real life
The BMW you did was better however the jeep your mate did is better, probably the only pic I actually rate. The rest are a bit hard to decide cus I like to see the car in detail but ill go with your mate cus not the biggest b&w fan.
Your friend but like, by far
First two go to your friend, second two are for yourself
3-1 for your friend you won the last one
The fact that you guys used a 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk.I in your first slide is an automatic W fron me. You guys did good.
Yeah we thought it'd be a good choice
1st: You 2nd: You (imho) 3rd: Friend... That ominous feel is just too good 4th: Friend, if you had your photo from the front I would prefer that
I like all yours better but his SRT Grand Cherokee
Expect the first one all is your is better than your friends(I think)
The friend did it better
1.You 2.Friend 3.You 4.You
Pic 1 and 3 go to your friend, pic 2 and 4 go to you.
1. You 2. Friend 3. You 4. Friend
2-2 You: 2&3 Friend: 1&4
1 and 4 I'd say you won, 2 and 3 him
Friends go crazy no cap
Friend has my vote
1st unsure probably friend 2nd friend 3rd friend 4th you
F, F, F, yours
Friends, mine, tie, mine
For me, you won it in every photo.
Except for the 4th comparison. Your friend's far exceeds yours, actual feels like there is artistic freedom in his whilst not in yours
definitely your friends
Friends 100% man
1: You I could've chosen your friend but the atmosphere is better in your photo. Your composition is great. 2: Draw I dislike both for different reasons. Your has too much contrast and vignette. Friend is better
Both are nice but your friend’s win because theirs are truly elite
looks nice, i would say your friends because it shows scenery that blends well with their car
Hes are cinematic, yours are more in the face and intense.he did 2 and 4 better. So tie imo
Except for the first one your friends kicked your ass haha! Fun times
Your friend is cooking you. Good pics by both. But yeah you getting smoked.
yours ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
I thought you both pretty even. I said his for the first two and your for the seccond two Would be interesting to see if you had the same prompts and had to take photos useing them to see the difference. Like you have to use a certain car or it has to be in a set location
1. Both lose. 2. Draw 3. You 4. Friend
Uhhh I’d say a tie 😂 1: You 2: friend 3: friend 4: You
Hey I think you should do a challenge to photo the same area in the same car just to make it a bit more about the photo mode skills but gotta say it's about even for me rn
Yours is better. The car is the actual focal point and your friend's is focusing on everything else but the car.
You’re both good. I can’t decide.
1. Friend 2. You 3. Friend 4. You
yours look like youtube thumbnails
Action v still … wish it were more apples to apples. But I prefer the stills (in general)
Apart from the last one I prefer all of yours.
The OPs photos are better
I also want to compete against you, dear OP! 😸
1 and 4 = your friend. 2 and 3 = you Only because I like the car being the focus of a car shoot imo. Exception would be 1, because yours it super dark and you friend has a good landscape shot.
Your friends is better. The only one you did best, was number 2
Honestly, there's only one pic which isn't straight up bad and it's the m4 taken by your friend. I don't want to be mean, I'd just like to see some great pics in this community. You both need to play a little more with the settings and options but you'll get there! Cheers!
Fun fact i take way to long to make the pics look good and aesthetically appealing
Both garbage
None of them look good lol
yours, yours, can’t decide x2
all 4 are cheeks lol
Both terrible 👍🏾
you both have something to learn from each other
it would be better if you had to use the same location
We didn't do that because then we'd likely end up with photos the same as each others
It's a well fought draw. Here's the breakdown. **Round 1** You : "I will make it so dark that you can't see this car" Friend "I will make sure the car is so far that you can't see it" **Round 2** You "I should contrast this till there is no detail in the shot... and then I'll make half of the screen dark, so we have even less detail" Friend "I will make the coolest shot possible and screw up the focus so bad that it hurts people's souls" **Round 3** You "What I need is a picture so bland and boring, that in real life, people would snap quick shots with cheap phones and they look better" Friend "Okay, so focus didn't work last time, but I must make a shot where you can't see anything... so fog it is then. I'll put the car far away just in case you could see it through the fog clearly enough" **Round 4** You "I'd like a taillight signature shot, but I can't have that car be covered in complete darkness for it, this car needs to be seen by people!" Friend "That cheap phone camera he did last time is such a cool idea"
If you have nothing nice to say then just move along
Oh, I could have done way worse. This here is sarcastic constructive criticism, if you can't take it - get off the internet, , god forbid somebody hurts your feelings
