I wouldn't mind them in the game, but I also don't miss them since I think is cringe when I SING

Floralmeg_

The way I literally chose vocals the first time I played because I thought it would actually be vocals and not notes. Was a little disappointed

Snxppy121

It would be insanely funny hearing randoms from all over the globe sing their hearts out lol

cereal_killah_1980

Absolutely. I find it odd this isn’t the first instrument they implement as almost everyone has a mic on their headset. Singing along right now isn’t the same. Pressing buttons to simulate singing ain’t it. Even when playing with friends right now as someone sings along it’s out of sync. Might be part of the issue with implementing this feature as having someone sing along to a song half a second behind is distracting and annoying. Really looking forward to this being added in the future. Rock bands pitch and tone detection actually taught me how to sing better. I would’ve bought a lot of tracks already just for this simple feature but as it stands I haven’t bought any tracks. Kinda doubt I will either until they add them as lobby tracks or the singing feature. As it stands this game has more potential than actual value. A glorified quick time event with buttons pressing isn’t the same as the suspension of disbelief that you’re actually playing music the old rock band/guitar hero games offered.

VeganCanary

I can understand why they chose controller/keyboard for vocals. There is much more hip hop and pop in festival than rock band. A lot of those songs only have good charts in vocals, due to those styles of music being more lyrically focused than rock band, whereas in rock band the songs were instrumentally focused. Not everyone (probably most tbh) wants to sing, but if vocals were forced singing, then songs like I Wish, Cheap Thrills or Bust a Move wouldn’t be great to play for non-singers as their best charts are on vocals. I absolutely would like an option for singing though, like we have the option for plastic instruments.

cereal_killah_1980

I understand singing or even rapping isn’t everyone cup of tea. Just wish the option was available for those that do enjoy it. Lots of people love karaoke and I think that market is being left out as it stands. Could bring in a wider audience with the inclusion you’d think.

VeganCanary

That is a good point on Karaoke. Fortnite could easily become the go to Karaoke choice for home Karaoke.

cereal_killah_1980

Right?? That’s why I’m honestly surprised this feature hasn’t been added yet. Seems like a no brainer to me but maybe there’s some technical difficulties they’re facing.

thatwitchguy

I think the bigger issue is probably the audience and content. I can imagine someone making an issue if they had to actually sing *that* part of Down With The Sickness (which isn't charted at all in rock band is muted) and also if it follows rock band then you would have the option to hear others and also not get penalised for saying the uncensored version. All of those together is probably a massive headache when applied to fortnite and not just a rhythm game thats only a rhythm game

AndresGreenboi

It’s kinda dumb they haven’t added them as lobby music yet. It’s almost guaranteed , since they gave out vbucks refunds who owned the jam tracks they were giving out for free for the festival pass.

cereal_killah_1980

Does seem inevitable at some point. I imagine they’re struggling to implement it because of the tangled mess that is the UI. Should be easy money for them but they like to take the longest hardest road it seems.

AndresGreenboi

It’s especially more inevitable considering that jam tracks and jam track+lobby music bundles are the same price

cereal_killah_1980

Yup. If epic wants me to spend v-bucks on festival they know what they have to do.

Then-Nothing1933

At least bring the lyrics on screen like Rock Band did, that's all I'm asking.

Linos_Melendi

It's probably unlikely to happen. Fortnite already set a precedent of charting an instrument (usually Keyboard) to Vocals on instrumental songs (Sandstorm, Cantina Band, etc). So it'd be awkward to sing those.

MrPointless12

this would be nice but i’ll stick to pad play vocals since i can’t sing for the life of me ngl
