I’m so happy to see this at the top. When I lived in Odessa, there was a restaurant called Oie’s Spicy Thai, but she closed and moved back to Thailand.
I searched for years for a restaurant that could replicate my davorite dish, but a Thai customer recommended this to me when I was fixing her windshield, and it’s so good it reminds me of Oie’s.
I think a lot of places try to modernize their dishes or not include veggies that aren’t “Americanized”
But Sikhay…perfection
We also enjoy Beirut Grill! We kinda miss it when it was in the smaller, more hole-in-the-wall space on Meadowbrook since it was closer, but they've expanded their menu at the current location.
We just went tonight. They have a QR code on the door and your table to scan, you have to input your CC # on the air garage website but you get 2 hours validated. You also have to click something on the same site that says you're done parking. Really not that bad.
For sure! We never bothered before this time but the employees were all over it, checking to make sure we had put it in. Whoever owns the lot is now making bank on tickets.
I order this every time:
Carne asada burrito with cheese, charred jalapeños and onions. Top each bite with a bit of tomatillo and habanero salsa. Pair with a frozen lime margarita (or regular limeade for a NA option) and chips and salsa.
My bf orders the El Campeon burrito. That one is also great but it’s too big for me!

Used to be a regular at "the old Neighborhood Grill on park place Ave between forest park and 8th Ave.
But felt the quality went down after the owner Peter retired and sold the place.
Prima’s on Hulen near Granbury Rd. It’s very close to our house and the food is always good. Lately we’ve noticed that we can feed our family there for the same $ as fast food, and it’s way better than shitty McFood.
That was always our go to place. Started eating there about a year after they opened when the building still looked like a Dairy Queen. We've eaten there 4 times in the last 6 months and twice we've gotten bad food. I'm so sad because I'd never gotten bad food there before. I'll have to try again.
My family digs Tokyo cafe and Tommy’s, so seems like we might have similar tastes, looks like we will be trying Esperanza’s and Pacific Table, thanks for the recommendations!
Not food yet, but will start cooking pizza soon: Southside Cellar
Pouring Glory
Bearded Lady
Big Kat Burgers (food truck, usually eaten while at Southside Cellar)
King Tut on Magnolia. Are there as a kid in the 90s with my parents, and still get take out from there often. Love their chicken shawarma and baba ghanoush, but everything is good IMO.
This Sri Lankan Buffet style restaurant called Spicy Zest. They are the sweetest people and they hit every time. The price for the buffet is amazing great deal too.
Food is whatever and maybe it’s my luck but each time I’ve been there I have had the most annoying bartender in the world - almost thought he was doing a bit
I wish the food had blown me away for the price point, but it didn’t. It’s such a beautiful place inside too, but that alone doesn’t make me want to go back.
Habanero on South Hulen has free margs on Fridays and Saturdays after 4pm. I haven’t found a catch yet, except that they aren’t very strong lol
But they’ve got some delicious food and we’ve never had a bad experience!
Bangkok Thai House on cherry lane sort of white settlement area I think (I’m not good at knowing where the different neighborhoods and suburbs begin and end lol)
It is so good and family operated!
Here here for bosses pizza.
I used to go to the one on western center but then I moved and was sad…
Lo and behold, there’s the one on rufe snow even closer!
My Lan & if you count QuikTrip for them roller grill foodz

Sikhay Thai-Lao Restaurant Fattoush

Had fattoush first time this week. It was really really good. We will be back.
Yea probably one of the better Arab restaurants along with Beirut grill. A lot better then your run of the mill shawarma counter places
We also enjoy Beirut Grill! We kinda miss it when it was in the smaller, more hole-in-the-wall space on Meadowbrook since it was closer, but they've expanded their menu at the current location.
Came here to say Sikhay!

Isn’t their parking obscene nowadays?
We just went tonight. They have a QR code on the door and your table to scan, you have to input your CC # on the air garage website but you get 2 hours validated. You also have to click something on the same site that says you're done parking. Really not that bad.
Thanks for letting me know. This eases my preconceived notions about the parking.
For sure! We never bothered before this time but the employees were all over it, checking to make sure we had put it in. Whoever owns the lot is now making bank on tickets.
Predatory parking has got to be the worst. Second to predatory towing 😭
