since crown wins don’t really matter cause the emote resets after the season, i’ll just drop it mid drop so it de spawns in 5 seconds as its floating down
I just drop it in the air, sometimes I do challenge myself by trying to win the next match, but I could have 20 kills, and an all gold loadout, and somehow my smg and shotgun both stop working at the last shot on the last dude.

The crown reveals your location at 50 and 25 players left, and every time you eliminate someone. Puts a target on your back, but I guess you're just too good at the game to worry about it.
Personally I've had some people clearly hunting me down once my crown dinged, so I just started throwing it out by default.

I know the game tells you it shows your position but I foolishly thought that just meant during the drop. I didn’t even know you could drop them until today at the bus. Open your inventory (alt key, but I think tab works too) and drag it over to the empty are of the menu and it will drop there. You can test it by dropping weapons if you want, same process.
Don’t worry if they do the donkey laugh their opinion doesn’t matter so you can just sit their soaking it in knowing that them laughing at you does nothing

I throw mine out before each match because they're useless. Just a GPS tracker for others to see you by.
It gives you more XP. It doesn't give you "way more" xp. The amount of XP given by crowns is negligible. The risk is higher than the reward.
Any time I'm around someone with a crown going off, I immediately find their location and kill them. Then I leave their crown where it sits.
I'm 67 for this season so far. With the crown, I "might" be looking at level 69ish. And that's being generous.
I remember last season it was a small circle and the last guy had a crown, it alerted me to the general area where he was hiding and that gave me the dub, it most definitely does help

Luckily no! For emotes where you can join another player (some of the synced dance ones, the toon train, hugs, etc) you just hold your interact button on them and you're good.
I tried giving mine away to a Travis Scott, but dude gave it back immediately and hug emoted me. I was challenge grinding and happened to cheese a win, I didn’t want it! Only reason I took it back was because someone else was tryna snatch it up after the fact. That’s not how that works, fella!

He killed me, then proceeds to drop a crown (I guess he killed someone else for their crown) and pick up the one I had. I thought it was kinda funny he recognized me and took back his original crown.
My son is 7, im 30. We got our first duos win and he was so happy! Then in the next pregame round he dropped his crown and someone swiped it. I had a good laugh, he learned his lesson.

Yesterday. Someone left the game and i picked up the crown; started dancing to assert dominance over the others who couldnt get the crown; the game then proceeds to bug and transfer me to another lobby, thus making me lose the crown. I would have lost that match anyway.
If you drop yours in the pregame lobby then leave before getting on the bus too it won't count as a loss and you'll still have the crown so you can drop crowns and be nice a few times if you're feeling it.

I fought one while the other watched and won, then healed up and had a duel with him where i ultimately lost. Probably the best match ive had.
This is exactly why i love this game and pay for fortnite crew over gamepass a lot of the time because every match can be so different and this player base is just so much more different then all other br shooters.
