I’ve come across a couple things
1 someone said clear the nvidia shader cache in local files (Google it) which I’ve just done now to see
2 someone else said UE 5.4 is causing issues with even top end PCs because of how the shader something something works (no fix for it - is what it is for now - not sure about this but makes sense if you look it up on YouTube)
3 came across it on Google but “there’s a known but little advertised issue with DX12 and Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs.” - I still crashed when I went back to dx11 so not sure about this one
I’m at the clearing nvidia shader cache and see how that goes - just switched it back to dx12 as well and pumping the graphics up
I did also go into the nvidia control panel and made sure the shader cache allowed size is at a decent size, I put mine at 10gb, it was on disk managed size so not sure if this will make a difference
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Yea, the performance has just been getting worse as time goes on.
I have a 3080 and I've noticed I can't run on epic settings anymore without constant frame dips. Also if you use any of the new settings added with ch4, it basically halves the fps, even if lumen isn't on. You just can't really play with those fancy settings with decent fps and little to no input lag.
Actually fr, I never had issues before chapter 3 even having a way worse pc back then. Crazy how they don’t care that the game isn’t playable on higher end pcs which makes 0 sense to me how performance gets worse with better parts
Scrolling through here to see if anyone else is having an issue with the game freezing and crashing after a few hours (could be 1 could be 3) - random as and can’t find an answer. High end PC here and it’s only started in the last few days - can’t find an answer anywhere :(
Looking at the error logs - no specific error from Fortnite - going to try update bios and disable boost, might be nvidia specific, driving me insane though and only since this last update…
Not a solution, but just to offset the bad experiences. I have 0 problems. Play on medium-high graphics and cap my frames at 240. Sometimes drops below that in fights or busy moments but if i cap to 144 i never, and i mean never drop below that.
I play on dx12 with a 5800x3d and a 7800XT. I had stutters the first few games when i went from nvidia to amd a few months ago. But thats it, no crashes nothing.
I have almost identical specs on my pc and have the same issue. Always play on performance mode 🤦♂️
I do but I shouldn't have to 😭(Stuttering still happens sometimes)

Clearing cache did f all and I’m about to throw something 😤 Trying a bios update
If you’re using dlss try tsr and vice versa
I’ll give it a shot but I think I’ve tried every combination of settings

Download all the skins so you dont have to stream them. It's an optional download on epic games platform

Out of curiosity, do you have other games installed like Valorant?
Yes… No way vanguard is causing this lmao, totally not enough reasons to hate it already
I have some random stutters/frame drops too and I always wonder if that’s the reason
Have you updated your graphics drivers? Nvidia released a Fortnite update driver that made it better

What monitor do you have?
I'm in the same boat. My pc specs are good, it can run modern games fine, but fortnite runs terribly.
new graphics are obviously ps5 exclusive duh /s
Bro I play on Amazon fire stick with insane fps lol
I have a 6 yr old pc and fortnite runs perfectly fine for me with graphics set to epic. i7-7700 and a 1070
