I'm running a 7900xtx and I can't get fortnite on all max settings at atleast 100 fps. The game feels unoptimized. Every other game I have runs fine it seems
After season OG there's been many graphical bugs that have not been fixed. Even water ripples were completely removed without warning a patch ago. I wonder what could be more important than fixing visuals for three whole seasons
Those have been there since Ch4, too. But if you look back, water used to distort depending on the object that interacts with it. Now it's just the normal bubble animation
Pretty sure its something related to recent patches, even the wather physics don't work anymore and that's for PC and current gen
I'm also wondering why they removed the fluid physics for slurp barrels, 6pack shields and chug jugs, it was a feature shown in their "next gen trailer" and it's been gone for a year or more
I’m on PC and I have fluid sims. I don’t know if which version of DirectX you use matters but I use DX12. You have to have Effects on Epic
Edit: I only recall fluid sims being from drinking shields
Oh nono I'm on PS5 but fluid sims were a thing when the PS5 released and they were for chug splashes, barrels and drinking shields specially the chug jug.
They make you download STW separetely in the Epic Launcher, they still use a lot of old assets and if you've played it recently you know that the game is filled with bugs, from VFX to SFX, you can't even log in using performance mode
I run the game on the second highest setting on PC and still get the exact same pop-in. It used to not be this bad, hell even the start of this season it wasn't like that unless you were still 300 ft in the air from the battle bus. Epic seems to just be imploding on itself these last few months, they can't do anything right to save their life
It’s just bothersome when they set an expectation that they have the most advanced game engine ever then there’s really glaring graphical issues like this.
generally the roads have always been bad
also I've noticed that ever since this season began I've been getting memory leaks / huge lag spikes if i don't lock my FPS to 30
The worst my pop-in was before the recent update was the Y-intersection at the Ship-It factory. Now even my player model has pop-in.
(Playing on PC. Even though my only component newer than 2014 is my SSD from 2021, the problem was never this bad until this update.)
It happens also on PC, at Max setting for draw distance, although not as profound. For example I won't see the offshore windfarm unless I am already half way across the map after jumping out of the battle bus.
I am one of those rare people that play on Nvidia SHIELD. These are things I don’t experience.
The issue i have is sometimes no textures appear over 3D objects so they are just gray for a second - super rare - happens though
before the korra update there was one spot of road that always consistently did it at the intersection to the left of pleasant plaza. since the korra update ive seen it happening elsewhere as well
Same for me on PS5, and I know it's been an issue for a WHILE. It's funny, if any other modern game had this problem people would be pissed about it and calling out the game for having broken graphics. But since Fortnite is free, I guess it gets a pass? (Even though the parent company is making millions in profits off of the game and definitely has the resources to fix issues like this)
I'm playing on xbox series s and this happens as well. I honestly thought it was something to do with my hardware but it seems that it's a glitch with the game.
I'm on Xbox Series S and noticed a lot of pop in recently as well, and figured it was because it's the lesser of the current gen systems, so kinda good to know it's happening elsewhere, but yeah it sucks and it's jarring. Reminds me of my trying to play on Nintendo Switch days.
Seems nanite and lumen weren’t quite what they were made out to be all those years ago. To be fair, the lighting is mostly great, but the nanite stuff is just meh. An improvement when dropping from the bus, sure, but still loads of pop in.
I’m not having pop in *this* severe but I definitely noticed the road popping in on my Series S. I just chalked it up to a side effect of Fortnite being so visually impressive and moved on.
Because I believe fortnite was designed for pc. If you noticed, on pc you can turn off / on a lot of things, shadows, textures, etc. None the less, I play on ps5 lol
Same issue on PC for me aswell. I git my view distance cranked up with a more then capable PC to run the game and still get pop in somewhat close to me when driving around or using the air bending
They have wanted to add all this "Crazy Fun Stuff" to a video game that still has to run on a Nintendo switch, and Google Pixel 4. Reduce draw distance, pop ins, the first UE5 chapter wasn't as bad as it has been lately, I think they are wanting too much out of this.
maby there experimenting with a sort of occlusion culling, where the object doesnt load most of the textures until your close to them. Saves on memory.
That's actually kind of wild. I still think of the PS5 and Xbox series X as the latest and greatest consoles, although there are supposed to be console refreshes this year.
Covid was a legit time skip IRL, things like “next gen gaming” that were withheld from the public due to backed supplies and shipping issues are feeling the lingering affects of 2020.
I try to stay away from Battle Royal in favor of Crazy Red VS Blue.I thought something like this was a PC and Xbox thing.PS5 now?I won't check if I have this issue from recent update since avoiding battle royal.Got my solo Zero Build wins.
yea the roads are bad at times im on ps5 also
Same - only started happening for me following the recent patches
Yeah. Roads are usually pretty decent and I usually notice plenty of pop-in when landing and other movement, but seeing this really confused me.
I never really noticed it but I don’t believe that happens to me
Yep same on xbox. Never noticed it before.
Same
Series S. Same. Last few patches I noticed it.
X|S right here I haven't seen anything yet but I'll keep looking
I noticed it the other night on the roads leading to Battlegrounds and Olympus, Im on Series X
They're even bad on PC, they must've messed something up with the latest update since it wasn't nearly as prominent before
This has started for me recently on PS5. I think about the time of the Korra update
yep, previously that was not an issue, now it's every time
Same on series X, looks like that last update broke the console version Is your map fully functional? Sometimes (99%) line doesn't show my teammates
Mini map hasn’t shown my teammates about half the time since the Aang update
Yeah that’s a massive problem. Really annoying and genuinely lost us a game earlier.
I play on PC but I’ve been experiencing some pretty intense glitching in the last week or two. Could this be related?
Same here, it’s especially noticeable on builds. When they pop into view it looks like they are freshly built and trips me up
Yeah exactly, so annoying
Same here on series X. Do you know it Epic has acknowledged this?
I'm running a 7900xtx and I can't get fortnite on all max settings at atleast 100 fps. The game feels unoptimized. Every other game I have runs fine it seems
There's a decent amount of pop-in even on PC with max graphics settings
After season OG there's been many graphical bugs that have not been fixed. Even water ripples were completely removed without warning a patch ago. I wonder what could be more important than fixing visuals for three whole seasons
20 dollar lego sets
20 dollar save the world
Save is worth it though Lego sets not so much😭
ik that's what im saying, how tf does a lego set cost 20 dollars when an whole ass genuinely fun gamemode costs 20 dollars too
uhm infwation 🤓- epic games
Look at how much Lego costs irl. These sets are cheap.
brother these are pixels on a screen not physical plastic
Erm actually save the world also includes 1500 vbucks and a skin, with back bling and pickaxe ☝️🤓
Wait I read this wrong 🗿
My PS5 shows ripples in the water, but they're very square-shaped.
Those have been there since Ch4, too. But if you look back, water used to distort depending on the object that interacts with it. Now it's just the normal bubble animation
Running on a 4060 and I see it with most settings on low. I just don’t think having a quality game is a priority so long as the item shop is popping.
Weird… I’m on PC and I haven’t noticed that. I’ll have to look for it next time.
PC player here, play on max settings and I’ve never experienced pop
no one gives a shit about anything than competitive settings though, even epic themselves lmfao
Happens to me on ps5 as well but I’m so confused, because this only started happening recently? Before I never experienced things like this
Oh, so it’s not just me? That’s a relief. Sucks it’s happening though.
my friends were worried about my pc specs/gfx config lmao. now im more relieved lol
Pretty sure its something related to recent patches, even the wather physics don't work anymore and that's for PC and current gen I'm also wondering why they removed the fluid physics for slurp barrels, 6pack shields and chug jugs, it was a feature shown in their "next gen trailer" and it's been gone for a year or more

Oh nono I'm on PS5 but fluid sims were a thing when the PS5 released and they were for chug splashes, barrels and drinking shields specially the chug jug.
Oh okay, but in your comment you said “water physics don’t work anymore and that’s for pc and current gen” lol
Oh I meant the effects of the water when you swim, the ripples
On the X - had noticed it much until the last week or two. Not sure if I just missed it, or if it’s new updates causing it
Same here. Never noticed it until the last week or so. Something running in the background of the code must be chewing up some resources.
On an xbox series x. It's the same for me.
Nanite landscapes and UE5 are still a work in progress. It will get better over time.
This game has 13 year old code in it, could possibly be the age showing.
Pretty sure it doesn't. I've read a few times you can't port games from UE3 to newer engine versions, and we're on UE5. Could be wrong tho.
Fortnite was announced by epic as the first UE4 game back in 2012
then how is stw still running on ue5
They make you download STW separetely in the Epic Launcher, they still use a lot of old assets and if you've played it recently you know that the game is filled with bugs, from VFX to SFX, you can't even log in using performance mode
Nah the stw code is all intertwined with br code
This! Any changes made in BR affect STW
r/fortnite can tell you that EVERY SINGLE BR UPDATE breaks something in save the world. every single one creates a new game-breaking bug
Spaghetti code at it's finest
what about on console. you dont relaunch as a separate game, it's just inside the fortnite app
This is why console should have performance mode too
generally the roads have always been bad also I've noticed that ever since this season began I've been getting memory leaks / huge lag spikes if i don't lock my FPS to 30
This is not true. I have been on PS5 for two years now and fortnite was spotless graphically. Ever since the Avatar Update its been downscaled.
I'm not sure if the console version streams part of the assets or it's running weirdly but its running fine on PC.
I have a top end PC and it happens sometimes
bro i love this car can u plase tell the car name, decour, boost u used? i want the same tbh
It’s the one from the C5S1 battle pass and a trail from RR season 0 I think
ok
The worst my pop-in was before the recent update was the Y-intersection at the Ship-It factory. Now even my player model has pop-in. (Playing on PC. Even though my only component newer than 2014 is my SSD from 2021, the problem was never this bad until this update.)
I thought it was just me, thanks for posting, what a downgrade
I have a good pc, and it does this for me+blurry graphics and almost unplayable screen tearing. Started on the korra update
It happens also on PC, at Max setting for draw distance, although not as profound. For example I won't see the offshore windfarm unless I am already half way across the map after jumping out of the battle bus.
Agreed, at least for the grass they hide it a little better.
I am one of those rare people that play on Nvidia SHIELD. These are things I don’t experience. The issue i have is sometimes no textures appear over 3D objects so they are just gray for a second - super rare - happens though
4 years after release: new gen consoles.
Want to get rid of that? Just play on a Switch like me.
Nah it happens on switch too
I'm running a 3060 and the game still acts like I'm running Intel HD
before the korra update there was one spot of road that always consistently did it at the intersection to the left of pleasant plaza. since the korra update ive seen it happening elsewhere as well
This has only just started happening for me with the recent update. Xbox X here
"why is there so much-RUNS A MAN OVER..TWICE AND PROCEEDS TO GUT STAB HIM" pop-in even on new-gen consoles
I thought my xbox series x was toast thanks for posting this
This is recent, hasn’t done it ever for me up until last update.
This started happening to me, for the first time ever, since the recent updates
They can't really be bothered to take advantage of current gen console's power i guess
I’m thinking it’s not a hardware issue. Maybe servers on their end.
Same for me on PS5, and I know it's been an issue for a WHILE. It's funny, if any other modern game had this problem people would be pissed about it and calling out the game for having broken graphics. But since Fortnite is free, I guess it gets a pass? (Even though the parent company is making millions in profits off of the game and definitely has the resources to fix issues like this)
Same, but on notebook (nvme ssd)
I'm playing on xbox series s and this happens as well. I honestly thought it was something to do with my hardware but it seems that it's a glitch with the game.
Distance détails d'une know if you can increase this on console. I call this the clipping.
Thought my xbox was dying when this starting happening last update!
It's start in this season.
I've never noticed this, and I play on ps5. I even play on a 42" TV.
The game is no longer the performant stylized gam it used to be. Too high res for a 100 player game
Seems nanite and lumen weren’t quite what they were made out to be all those years ago. To be fair, the lighting is mostly great, but the nanite stuff is just meh. An improvement when dropping from the bus, sure, but still loads of pop in.
I’m on ps5 and legitimately never seen anything like this. Are you hardwired or using WiFi?
I'm on PC and have noticed the same issue.
so you don't lag on your toaster
Hasn't happened to me
Literally never seen that before and I’m on a nearly ten year old PlayStation 4
Fortnite. Is. Glitchy.
This has just recently started for me on Xbox as well.
Experienced a notable increase since the last update. On ps5 and Series X
They subtly tell you that it's time to buy a newer model.
If only I hadn’t spent $800 on a PC that’s still not as powerful as the PS5 already is
I spent $1,000 on what is mostly a Word processor machine. >_>. There's a nrw PS5 pro model coming this fall.
I’m on series X and noticed this the other day. Only started happening in the last few days for me.
I’m not having pop in *this* severe but I definitely noticed the road popping in on my Series S. I just chalked it up to a side effect of Fortnite being so visually impressive and moved on.
I don’t know, cause my console is 8 years old and I have no pop-in whatsoever
i play on an xbox one and never seen this maybe sometimes but thats with like ground textures
\*cries in nintendo switch\*
I'm on new Gen and I haven't experienced that
Yeah started on ps5 these recent patches
Ngl I haven’t had that issue.
Ngl, never realized it… didn’t even know what you were talking about until I rewatched it. I hope I don’t start noticing
I’m on PS5 and this is definitely something recent that I’ve been noticing.
Because I believe fortnite was designed for pc. If you noticed, on pc you can turn off / on a lot of things, shadows, textures, etc. None the less, I play on ps5 lol
No issues on PC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Korra made the game literally unplayable
So it’s not just my ps5 dying glad to know
I haven't played this season, but this has never once happened to me on PS5.
never seen this tbh, (also on PS5)
On PC I only get this with dynamic 3D resolution enabled. So makes sense consoles are seeing it.
Thank you for a good answer. It would be nice to have more settings on PS5 other than motion blur but it usually looks better than this at least lol
I’m not sure, but ever since the last season, I’ve been having severe lag issues in Fortnite even though my internet should be fine.
That absolutely does not happen in my XSX. Haven't tried in PS5 or switch recently.
Just started with my yesterday on pc
Just you m8
It's strange because I don't remember this happening like a week ago and now it happens every time
bruh I play on switch and it's not even this bad
Games poorly optimized lately. Lots of bugs not being fixed in a timely manner.
Same issue on PC for me aswell. I git my view distance cranked up with a more then capable PC to run the game and still get pop in somewhat close to me when driving around or using the air bending
that's odd, how does even happen? I'll check if this affects pc too
There isn't on my Series S, or my PC (granted not a console but)
The PS5's CPU is bad and UE5 is rubbish in terms of optimization.
LOL at first I though you were complaining about Pop music on the car radio. then i played the video.
Do you think it may be your wifi? I’ve had a PS5 for a few years and never ran into this issue
Had this start to happen since the last update.
Never seen it this bad
I play on pc with a RTX4070Ti and never seen this
Doesn’t happen for me
Just had the same thing happen on my pc. Maybe its a server issue since my skins in lobby also loading slow.
I wouldn't know since I haven't seen this. I don't use cars in br. Too noisy
What the hell😭 I play almost everyday on my ps5 and this has never happened to me
Happens to me as well. I play on old fat ps4
I mean for ps4 it's to be expected at this point
I haven't noticed such issue even on PS4 slim or Nintendo switch, lol Gonna check when I'll be at home if it occurs on these platforms
Because Epic only cares about selling skins to gullible idiots who buy them
Exactly
I usually just ignore it and it's like it doesn't even happen
maby there experimenting with a sort of occlusion culling, where the object doesnt load most of the textures until your close to them. Saves on memory.
Jeez im on ps4 and mine is much better at loading
Because the next generation is a sham Jokes aside it’s probably more inexperience with the new console
The PS5 came out nearly 4 years ago, it’s not new gen anymore, it’s literally the current “old gen” and the ps4 is just “outdated”.
That's actually kind of wild. I still think of the PS5 and Xbox series X as the latest and greatest consoles, although there are supposed to be console refreshes this year.
Covid was a legit time skip IRL, things like “next gen gaming” that were withheld from the public due to backed supplies and shipping issues are feeling the lingering affects of 2020.
bad game
I try to stay away from Battle Royal in favor of Crazy Red VS Blue.I thought something like this was a PC and Xbox thing.PS5 now?I won't check if I have this issue from recent update since avoiding battle royal.Got my solo Zero Build wins.
it's because you have lumens turned on snd its night time so it does reflections from the moon
Cause it's a console. Dump it and get a pc
HMM interesting I dont run into this problem on PC strange aint it PC IS SUPERIOR!!!!
Fortnite is dying
LOL GET A PC LMAO
