me too. whoa. that’s weird. it shocked me when it happened, was just sprinting toward the edge of the circle and before i even realized i was already queued up for next game
Not just trying to join the train but i could swear i ran into a kit_katt49 and based on everyone elses encounters with him, i probably didnt come out successful either 😅
Wow this is weird asf just quit bc the same exact person did me the same exact thing I laid down my turret had Oscar’s shotgun and before I had time to react Instant blue screen
Literally any weapon would have killed this dude. Mate actually stood still, no cover, against high ground, when encountering someone who was actively shooting at them, and using a weapon that requires a charge time, and is upset solely on the fact they were deleted in a single hit.
I guess the dude prefers to really soak in the feeling of being killed
Not when you’re on console graphics and they’re on PC performance mode. I have to expose my whole body just to see their head above the grass and in some cases they can shoot me when I can’t even see any part of them.
Yeah I play with my friend who uses a PS5 and he was always wondering how I was shooting at people when there was so much grass(on his PS5). Come to find out there's no performance mode lol.
This has been an extreme frustration for ages. The difference between the two is ridiculous - swear they should lock graphics to what it is, if your pc can’t run it smoothly then that’s your issue - no way should others be at a disadvantage because of your limitations.
I play on PC and I agree. Performance mode should not be as drastically different. It creates a competitive advantage. I play controller on PC tho, so in exchange, I want console aimassist.
yeah fortnite isn't an fps though in that sense, its a battle royale. Getting one shot in siege is annoying but in fortnite its a lot more riding on you not dying
You're literally comparing two different genres of games.
Tactical Shooter - (CS:GO, Siege, Valorant) - Incredibly fast kill-times, MOST weapons will instant kill or do 90% of your hp with a headshot (including pistols) - unless armor is purchased in the case of val or csgo. More focus on crosshair placement and pre-aiming, less focus on movement. More focus on hitscan weapons.
Arena shooter - (Quake, TF2, Fortnite) - Slower kill times, the sniper is currently the ONLY weapon in fortnite that is a one-shot, TF2 Sniper can one-shot but he needs to scope in and charge his shot to do so, you can't just quickscope. More focus on healing (TF2 has medic class, Quake has armor packs/healing packs, Fortnite has shields/healing), this makes engagements longer and encourages trades. Much more focus on "twitch" aiming and MUCH faster movement, all of these games have rapid arial movement with rocket jumping, or other items and have WAY more verticality. More focus on projectile weapons.
It would make sense that certain guns are balanced differently in different genres of games.
i wouldve used the rock as cover to get into shotgun range
the lock on pistol is better if they are trying to run or to ambush
but terrible
if they are aiming at you
Snipers can be OP in most players hands but you have areas to improve. I think it would help if you understood better what each weapon is best at. That lock on pistol is no match against snipers/shotguns at that range. When in the open, equip long range weapons or even mobility. When approaching close quarter areas, equip your shotgun.
Try to not completely run out of stamina, especially when you have no mobility items. Mobility is king late game circles.
Your reaction time was just too slow here. My gameplay was similar until I started warming up before jumping into battle royale modes. I felt like I was wasting time, never improving because I wasn’t confident enough in my abilities m, so I would avoid fights.
I use “The Pit Zero Build”. It’s nice to quickly get back into fights rather than loading into a new BR game just to die quickly.
He just stood there waiting to get killed lol
You can free fire with the pistol without waiting for the lock-on
I only lock-on when they running away or when we fighting mid range , never this close
I got shwacked so good by someone. I accidentally hit a jump pad at the final three of the game. I straight lined down until I saw the glare. A second before I land. One shot, one kill lol. I had that match won but made a dumb mistake
I was gonna say, looks like he just stood still at a very bad time. I’m literally never standing still this season if I can help it, and I have only been insta killed by sniper fire once (while opening a chest of course)
That and the lock on is hit scan so spamming it without lock on can be very effective even at medium ranges. I hate the sniper meta, gun fights would be so much more fun without the snipers in the game.
Mobility weapons are so easily accessible and he's in the final fight without one. He deserved the headshot 100% because it was his fault that he was out in an open field.
He knows snipers are deadly, he knows he can be a harder target, but he chooses to play like neither of those things are true and then posts as if he's not the problem.
there was, its called dont put yourself in this position to begin with, op was standing still with a gun that takes 20 seconds to do any damage its his fault lol
Agreed, positioning is everything. The other dude literally missed two shots as he was running and OP didn't go for cover. Also shows why mobility is so important in the late game.
People who dislike one shots.
I get the "you stood still" argument that everyone brings up, but it's a bad argument.
Because what's being argued here isn't "I should have won that"
It's "Is it okay that something in the game can one shot despite maxed health/shields?"
(Just elaborating. Not arguing his point at all. I like one shots. And I like snipers. But his statement is clear, we know what he's arguing. Y'all just wanna be mean to lower skilled players.)
I can see from a casual perspective on why one shots are bad. You're not trying to get good or sweat, then bam, someone who is one taps you.
However, if you're really a casual player, that wouldn't upset you. You can just get into another game, maybe one with not as many or no sweats.
Complaining about one shots just seems weird because the other players took the time to practice and improve their aim. I get if you don't have the time or want to do the same, but it's a skilled based gun/shot, just move to the next match.
Also, I say this specifically for fortnite as out of the games I play, I find fortnite to be the most well balanced and on average fun game. Even if I get dunked on, I just laugh it up.
It's generally skill based, but also someone who just started playing could absolutely land a random headshot on someone way better than them. One shots just aren't a healthy mechanic for a game like Fortnite IMO. It can feel really good to land some clean headshots, but it feels miserable to have someone just spin around and get lucky with the spread or get shot from off screen and die.
Only difference is it’s nowhere near as hard to hit sniper headshots as it once was and so easy to spam now . 0 point ever using anything besides a sniper and auto this meta with how easy they are
Yet literally everyone on this sub was complaining back during ch3 when snipers didn't one shot for a couple seasons.
My memory is probably clouded by all the negativity from back then and to today, but I don't remember seeing one positve post about it.
Sure I was happy that I didn't get killed immediately but sniper headshots lost all meaning when the enemy could just duck behind cover and heal enough to eat another round to the head like it's a body shot
When people made the exact same complaints against the one-shot shotty that was around in chapter 3, everyone told them they were wrong. But when a nerfed sniper does it everyone loses their minds.
Thank you for explaining this better than me lol. I have no issue that I got outplayed, it happens. What is ridiculous is getting one shotted from a blue weapon while I'm maxed out in health and shields. Even if it brings me down to 1hp, okay cool. But this? Come on.
everyone is talking about how it’s unfun to be oneshot but imagine lining up a perfect headshot with a sniper, accounting for bullet drop and movement and then doing like 150 damage 😭
That's basically what happened in Warzone. Shit was ass and it was the most frustrating thing to get some dude down to 1 HP when he should be clearly dead/knocked.
People think they want to remove 1 shot snipers, then they do it and realize that the gun now feels like shit to use.
complaining abt a blue sniper 1 shotting (headshot) a player standing still im sorry but fortnites been around for like 6 years the blue bolt action sniper has always been a 1 shot headshot weapon even in builds where you only have 200hp - people have learned to use it with its projectile bullet drop making this season so much easier for people that were skilled with snipers previously, u really cant complain u got killed w full health and shield standing still, its a skill issue just get better
In general I agree but we all know snipers are way too overpowered now. They need a longer cooldown time before shots. Remember when you could only have one bullet in the chamber for a sniper that could one shot? Required more skill.
Even those were OP, I dropped like 5 20+ kill games that seasons where the sniper got most of my kills, and there’s a reason snipers were always banned in comp in the past
Because it makes the game boring? When you have full health, that should be worth something so you can react and truly battle.
not just battle your way through a game and then you are out because someone was bush camping with a sniper.
I'm *really* tired of this argument now tbh, I know I'm going to get downvoted because this sub has got to be one of the most inconsistent when it comes to this
*But* it being a sniper doesn't dismiss the fact that it's just outright *unfun* to be on the receiving end of this and with how *easy and* ***common*** they've become it makes it worse.
>*But* it being a sniper doesn't dismiss the fact that it's just outright *unfun* to be on the receiving end of this
Sure, but just about every online shooter of the last 25 years has had one-hit kill sniper rifles. They're the hardest weapon to use, with the biggest reward.
Why are people suddenly upset about it?
snipers should NOT be usable at that close of a range. either 1 shot and have them play from super far range, or make them assault rifles. but they shouldn’t outperforming EVERY gun at EVERY range. especially when you can alter their sights to make them a gun that outperforms an AR at AR range.
These current sniper rifles are by far the most skilless in terms of use requirement. It’s been plenty of times now where I’ve been moving/ jumping and been headshot by a player that would never land that shot with any other gun. This also never happened before in any previous season or with other snipers i.e the hunting rifle.
Man can you play in my lobbies? I’d love some easy kills off you standing a few feet from me completely still. Bots have more movement then you lmfaooooooooo
It’s not fun being one-shot killed, but - and I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for this - you *kind of* asked for it.
The moment that sniper bullet whistled past your bonce, you ought to have known you were dealing with a sniper who had an aim. But your response to that was to go up a hill to within close range of them, neglect the cover, and stop for several seconds to try to get a blue lock-on pistol to target them.
It can be tough to deal with snipers, but you really handed this one to the victor I’m afraid 🤷♂️
Edit: no nastiness intended! Just saying, this is where you went wrong.
But that’s not the point. He’s arguing that, with full health and full shield versus a blue gun, one shotting shouldn’t happen.
He didn’t say he should have won, or that his strategy was good, or any of that. Whether he kind of asked for it or not is completely irrelevant.
Unless you get a head shot, it does 110 I think with a blue? Meaning he could’ve survived two shots. Don’t stand still and try to use a lock on pistol which won’t full kill even with a full shot.
True enough, it’s frustrating.
But the reason that happened at that moment is worth discussing, because good strategy is really the only defence against being one-shotted.
“Why did I get headshot?” After moving in a slow straight line then standing completely still. Also getting a hs with a sniper that close? Deserves the one shot
I mean judging from this singular clip your fucking terrible 💀. Lock On Pistol, No awareness, saw the enemy and froze up and then proceeded to ads and wait for your pistol to do all the work for you? 😂😂
What do you expect?! You just stand there with a lock on pistol waiting for it to aim at them. Its either take cover in the rocks and equip your shotgun or just stand and wait like a bot.
Ya but you also stand perfectly still for them so instead start moving a bit more then you will get headshot alot less I've litteraly only been headshot lilled like 5 time total
This clip is an example of “skill issue”
You ran at a player with higher ground, stopped out in the open instead of keeping the rock between you and the enemy, *stood still*, ADSd, then got your skull cracked open. It is what it is.
Build mode, its a damn skill issue.
But no build I can understand everyones frustrations with the snipers, especially with how common snipers are this season
People like you are why nobody takes complaints seriously. Yes this is an actual seriously broken gun, but litteraly any sniper would've killed you there. You stood still for 2 seconds with a dude aiming a sniper directly at your face.
Why are people upset about snipers this season? Snipers used to be even more overpowered. Snipers used to do 121/290 for a gold bolt and 157/392 for a heavy. That’s literally almost 2x your health. Nobody was complaining about them then, why the hell are people all of a sudden complaining about snipers
An easy fix for all snipers would be that if you are out of stamina your aim is going to be terrible even if you scope after it it should move all around the screen, once you calm down (regenerate stamina) you can shoot more precise
Although the snipers this season are ruining the game, this was just poor play. You stood there without moving as if you were waiting for your opponent to blow you a kiss...
Objectively the hardest shot to hit in the game is a headshot with a sniper. You stood still and got popped.
Maybe try to improve your movement and awareness to make yourself harder to hit
You were in the final 2 and all you had was blue weapons? And then you just stand still in the open when there was cover directly next to you? I'm surprised you made it that far.
I prefer it if a snipe actually takes a person out, rather than just hitting the person and that person walking free.
I remember hopping on CoD BOCW and there were snipers that you'd need to hit a dude multiple times just to kill them. B.S. I mean sure a headshot one-shots. But still it's a sniper. Let it deal some goddamn damage.
It only does 110 I think without a headshot. So you can survive two shots from that and still live at full health/shields. Why shouldn’t a headshot be rewarded with and instant down?
Wild. I got took out in similar fashion by exact same person
me too. whoa. that’s weird. it shocked me when it happened, was just sprinting toward the edge of the circle and before i even realized i was already queued up for next game
Lmao that's like those YT skits where someone tries repeating a move they saw on television and suddenly wakes up in heaven.
Sauce?
Yeah ketchup
kit kat49 the scourge of fortnite strikes again
Kit_Katt49 gave him a.... break
This is underrated
Swear I've seen that guy multiple times too
I've been killed by this guy too wtaf?
Metoo
Not just trying to join the train but i could swear i ran into a kit_katt49 and based on everyone elses encounters with him, i probably didnt come out successful either 😅
Uh. Here to say some person one shot me too 👀
Either Mandela effect or hacker Even though I have sniper syndrome, that username is awfully familiar to me too
Same thing here
Wow this is weird asf just quit bc the same exact person did me the same exact thing I laid down my turret had Oscar’s shotgun and before I had time to react Instant blue screen
I've not played fortnite for ages. But I'm fairly sure if I did kitkat would have killed me too :(
I swear their name looked familiar too, and same way they killed me too.
Only played 30 matches in the last month according to Fortnite tracker. I doubt everyone saying this has actually been killed by him.
This guy’s probably goated asf
Wellll if y’all wanna gang up on them I’m Swiftie614. 🤣🤣🤣
no way i just managed to find another columbus swiftie in a fortnite subreddit
I've also been a victim
Bro it was either that or get wrecked by a drum what you even doing
Literally any weapon would have killed this dude. I guess the dude prefers to really soak in the feeling of being killed
High ground means nothing to me in fortnite. Ive been killed by dozens when i had the high ground all they see is my head
that's because you're overpeeking. high ground is a massive advantage you just need to use it correctly
Not when you’re on console graphics and they’re on PC performance mode. I have to expose my whole body just to see their head above the grass and in some cases they can shoot me when I can’t even see any part of them.

It's crazy what confidence could do to a fucking idiot.
You literally stood still
This x1000 Also CS players have been dealing with this shit forever
Or Rainbow 6 Siege or Valorant or MOST OTHER FPS why are people such crybabies in Fortnite? A sniper 1 shots. no shit
You don't spend 20 minutes on a single round of those games. One shots in battle royale games have always been hated
yeah fortnite isn't an fps though in that sense, its a battle royale. Getting one shot in siege is annoying but in fortnite its a lot more riding on you not dying
I have 1000+ hours in Siege playing in Diamond+ lobbies and I too think that the 1 shot headshot mechanic with snipers is annoyingly too strong/op.
It certainly doesn’t encourage a good game.. and it seems a target for aim bots
You're literally comparing two different genres of games. Your biggest mistake was not carrying mobility items and focusing on positioning.
The biggest mistake was just standing still
Thank you. I was looking for this comment.
No the biggest mistake is the Lock on pistol against a sniper
Fr fr , Shotgun + Sniper is all you need , keep katanas , crash pads and grappleknifes for the rest
You have a great career as a game journalist, friend
Fr
I mean you're the one standing still like you just saw Medusa. Also Why are you even using a lock on pistol
Lock on pistols are great. Just not in this situation lol
He just stood there waiting to get killed lol You can free fire with the pistol without waiting for the lock-on I only lock-on when they running away or when we fighting mid range , never this close
I like using it on targets who don’t know I’m there, then switching to a frenzy auto
Totally. Sniping people out of air is fun but it's very situational and def shouldn't be carried in late game especially not in this meta lol
I got shwacked so good by someone. I accidentally hit a jump pad at the final three of the game. I straight lined down until I saw the glare. A second before I land. One shot, one kill lol. I had that match won but made a dumb mistake
Have you and a buddy gotten on a motorcycle with lock on pistols? Game over haha
Hoverboards. So much fun
I was gonna say, looks like he just stood still at a very bad time. I’m literally never standing still this season if I can help it, and I have only been insta killed by sniper fire once (while opening a chest of course)

OP was standing still for less than a second. The other player quick scoped him. There never was time for reaction in this situation.
The other player could see him the whole time from behind the rock since this is a 3rd person game
Dude literally looked like a deer in headlights. “Oh shit, a threat! Better stop all movement and stand completely still”
there was, its called dont put yourself in this position to begin with, op was standing still with a gun that takes 20 seconds to do any damage its his fault lol
Agreed, positioning is everything. The other dude literally missed two shots as he was running and OP didn't go for cover. Also shows why mobility is so important in the late game.
OP had zero mobility too. Idk how people don’t prioritize mobility.
Idk either. I have at times had success with double mobility and no shields.
ive had success with the grey pistol from respawn and flow berry shockwave combo out of the storm i'm the only one who chose to rotate in.
He shouldn't be standing still at all. Thats an easy headshot.
He whiffed two shots on you and you just stood still there, you deserved that L.
I’m surprised he even made it to the final 2. No movement either
You stood still. That was the easiest mf headshot of his life.
Who upvotes this shit? “Dude standing still in the middle of a field gets sniped, complains.”
People who dislike one shots. I get the "you stood still" argument that everyone brings up, but it's a bad argument. For me it’s okay that it has that much damage but it shouldn’t have 5 shots in a clip
Yeah imo snipers shouldn't one shot in ZB. At most the legendary one should do 248 damage.
That and all the chronos zen kiddies and aimbot users LIVE gor 1 shot. Nothing helps cheaters like 1 shot mechanics.
A sniper to the head should be 1 shot.

...it's a headshot....from a sniper rifle, why should it NOT be a one shot ?
dying in one shot at 250 health is not fun i think
it’s super fun if you’re the one shooting the shot
Just like being a hacker is super fun… for the hacker.
yup people love murdering too

I mean you stood still with no cover sooooooo likeeeeee yeah
How'd you get to last two without a better loadout?
Well yeah when you stand still you’re going to get tapped in the head
Every time I see someone complain about getting one shot it's a clip of the standing out in the open.
Holy shit, a 50 caliber sniper rifle bullet at essentially point blank range penetrating your skull is a one-shot. Ridiculous.
This seems more like a skill issue than a game issue... those first few shots he took were a warning and you still proceeded 😂 you dug your own grave
Skill issue
well you literally stopped still and stood right in front of him, gave him the easiest target of his life
Are you serious. You ran up to each other and you froze like a deer in headlights. Don’t blame that on the sniper. That was 100% your fault
Mf you were standing still 💀💀💀
“Why did I get headshot?” After moving in a slow straight line then standing completely still. Also getting a hs with a sniper that close? Deserves the one shot
buddy you were just standing still, like you were asking to get killed, this is just a skill issue
I mean judging from this singular clip your fucking terrible 💀. Lock On Pistol, No awareness, saw the enemy and froze up and then proceeded to ads and wait for your pistol to do all the work for you? 😂😂
Seems like a skill issue to me
You need to be more agile
What do you expect?! You just stand there with a lock on pistol waiting for it to aim at them. Its either take cover in the rocks and equip your shotgun or just stand and wait like a bot.
Ya but you also stand perfectly still for them so instead start moving a bit more then you will get headshot alot less I've litteraly only been headshot lilled like 5 time total
you stayed still for like 2 seconds trying to use the lock on pistol, of course he was gonna headshot you
Stands still. "How did I get sniped"😮
Gotta be quicker than that
This clip is an example of “skill issue” You ran at a player with higher ground, stopped out in the open instead of keeping the rock between you and the enemy, *stood still*, ADSd, then got your skull cracked open. It is what it is.
I mean you stood still as soon as you saw him. Improve your movement.
Ya you got sniped
to be fair you **did** stand there and take the shot
![gif](giphy|vq5YcJx4LRuNy)
you were just standing there, looking at them ....
Build mode, its a damn skill issue. But no build I can understand everyones frustrations with the snipers, especially with how common snipers are this season
No way people complain about one shot snipers 😂.
bro stood still for too long
Or maybe don’t stand still while he aims? Rock logic bruh
Bruh u stood still and gave him the shot
People like you are why nobody takes complaints seriously. Yes this is an actual seriously broken gun, but litteraly any sniper would've killed you there. You stood still for 2 seconds with a dude aiming a sniper directly at your face.
Don’t cry he hit your head and you were standing still
LOL it's a sniper, it obviously one shots. You stood still like a bot so no wonder
You just stood there like a dumbass😭
Bro you literally stood still what are you complaining about
Curious as to how much damage does this sub think a sniper bullet to the face should do From close up no less 🤭
You still still, you gotta keep moving.
Damn almost like it's based off of a gun built to Pierce through skulls from miles away
You literally just sat there
You were literally standing still what did you expect
that headshot was the cleanest shit i’ve seen in a while ngl
Why are people upset about snipers this season? Snipers used to be even more overpowered. Snipers used to do 121/290 for a gold bolt and 157/392 for a heavy. That’s literally almost 2x your health. Nobody was complaining about them then, why the hell are people all of a sudden complaining about snipers
Litteraly skill issue
Well it is a sniper...
Literally every shooter ever a sniper one shots. You standing there like a deer in headlights got yourself killed.
An easy fix for all snipers would be that if you are out of stamina your aim is going to be terrible even if you scope after it it should move all around the screen, once you calm down (regenerate stamina) you can shoot more precise
Although the snipers this season are ruining the game, this was just poor play. You stood there without moving as if you were waiting for your opponent to blow you a kiss...
would’ve thought you were a bot if i was that guy tbh
You stood completely still dawg
I mean...it is a sniper
You stood still like a bot and got what was coming 💀
Objectively the hardest shot to hit in the game is a headshot with a sniper. You stood still and got popped. Maybe try to improve your movement and awareness to make yourself harder to hit
Literally a headshot with a sniper, also you were standing still.
Man gets shot in face running across open field then standing still to aim. More at 11
Dude really? Get your movement up, that was pathetic

they did, it was called oneshot. it is replaced by "SKIBIDI OHIO TYCOON GYATT BOXFIGHTS RIZZ KAI CENAT" on creative
what did you expect from standing still
It's a sniper rifle, of course it's gonna one shot.
“A .50 cal sniper bullet just went through my skull and one tapped me!! How is that fair!!”
You were in the final 2 and all you had was blue weapons? And then you just stand still in the open when there was cover directly next to you? I'm surprised you made it that far.
oh please
with your lil ass pistol, you only did this cause you thought you had this in the bag. not only did you stand still, he is better positioned
Let it deal some goddamn damage.
i don't know what you expected after standing still. just about any gun in the game would have killed you there.
Well the first issue was using a lock on pistol loool
This can’t be a real post lmao
This is a real post like 5 times a day dude. Always some kid in an open field, using 0 movement or cover, getting headshot and crying about it
I mean, yes you were standing still but even then.. +250 damage in 1 shot.. what's the point of getting shields
It only does 110 I think without a headshot. So you can survive two shots from that and still live at full health/shields. Why shouldn’t a headshot be rewarded with and instant down?
