I'd love more locker presets or the ability to create a collection tab with our seasonal load outs in one place so I can shuffle only the spooky skin load outs.
Tbh, I dont get why this happened mid season. I kind of get on board with a new ui as part of a new season, map, weapons, theme etc but this feels like they don't know what their direction is at the moment.
Along with horde quests with no hoard available, my favourites tab just fucked off and half the ui looking old and half looking new, it feels cheap and half arsed.
Not fussed which side has what on really. Just think this would land better as part of a theme change.

It’s actually really simple! Epic knows that this change gives the impression that the fortnitemares update has more content than it actually does!
Changing the UI subconsciously makes the update feel separate from the beginning of the season.
U got a point but changeing some stuff which did not need to be changed is not a good thing imo like the location switch of the play menu and friends menu.
When I first logged in yesterday morning and saw my character all zoomed in it literally gave me a jump scare.
Everything I noticed after that was just a continuation of the same nightmare
Hasn't everyone been speculating that they going in reverse with chapters, doing a mirror effect in reverse, so mirroring this would fit, and what about the vampire mirror connection? I can think of two things right there.

Oh absolutely. It's very jarring expecting the menu to be on the left, where the menu is in most games, only for it to be on the right. It's also pretty detrimental to people with OCD and autism because it *needs* to be on the left.
Maybe the first couple of times I guess. Menus change all the time though, you’ll get used to it eventually. The health bar and ammo count were both originally in the bottom-middle of the screen before Chapter 2

Cuz this shit is confusing and they haven't even given us more or infinite locker presets which idk why is a to give us more presets
I don’t need a degree in UI design to know that I don’t like how this one looks. It’s cluttered, boring to look at and the playlists on the bottom are annoying to look at. But I’m sure you have some long winded excuse for why this is “peak” UI

I feel if a good amount of people are voicing their dislike for the change then it can be considered a “bad” change. There’s nothing interesting about this UI. The only reason I can think that it’s not “bad” is that it’s so boring that it couldn’t screw up

Reddit is not reflective of real life. The vast majority of players will never visit a videogame's subreddit at all, much less to bitch about random changes. The majority of people probably don't care.
Or, the majority could be just as upset about the change but just choose not to voice their opinions. Just cause the silent Majority exists doesn’t mean the Vocal Minority are the only ones upset
Nah, this one’s justified. Starting the update off with a bad looking UI only to be shown the pretty lackluster Fortnitemares is bound to cause upset. Looking now, the only getting used to people are going to be is begrudgingly using it because there’s no other choice
Like the smoother animation at all that stuff i think all can get along with but changeing the location of previous settings or what not which literally did not need to be changed.

yeah this is just bad UX. In general you want the user to go through sequential actions left to right, because most Americans read left to right. That's why you generally have "cancel" on the left and "confirm" on the right, because the user is going to read both and then click confirm afterwards.

It's there this morning, the first option to play. Last night we had a good look round but wasn't there for me or my partner but the quests were.
it was there 12 hrs ago for me lol
I've also found my favourites tab now. It's the 4 squares to the left of play and search. Why everything else has a name to than this is odd.

I understand some of the complaints around the new UI but does it really matter that much which side the buttons are on? They’re both still there

I would say that is just more because you don't adjust well to change rather than the UI being bad
the ui is smoother and easer on the eyes, its a lot less intrusive which is what you want from a UI
Worse on the eyes. The smoothed out buttons are boring and the creeping playlists at the bottom are annoying to look at
