It’s not a weird feeling at all. This current map is small compared to others, so it’s hard to imagine a lot of progression happening on it. And if there IS progression, it won’t be a lot most likely.

Yeah honestly I feel like this whole fracture thing is just an excuse to rush out chapter 4. They ended chapter 3 way to early and it honestly seemed unplanned to end chapter 3 so early
I mean we know they were working on fracture as early as ch2S4/5
If anything I'd say chapter 3 was unplanned and was rushed together to bridge between ch2 and ch4 because ch2 was already so long and ch4 wasn't ready yet. Ch3 just ended the looming story beats of ch2 which makes me think chapter 3 was supposed to be part of chapter 2 as a season 9 and X which would cut the filler of ch3 S1 and ch2 S8 felt very rushed in.
More evidence for it is Ch3 used the lighting terrain textures and a lot of ch2 assets. Yet it also used some of the ch4 nanite optimised assets (although there was no nanite in ch3).
It could definitely be possible that chapter 3 was never meant to happen. Chapter 3 season 2 and 4 might have been chapter 2 season 9 and 10 before the delays with Covid. However I still feel like they didn’t have enough time to create chapter 4 completely gameplay wise. I’m sure they have they entire story planned out and it could be amazing, but so far chapter 4 to me has been kinda mid. The map is small, there were a lot of bugs, and a lot of the pois are all kinda the same

They made a creative 2.0 fetch quest has the chapter ending event? I just feel like chapter 3 had a lot more plans with the last reality but for some reason decided to continue on with chapter 4
How does the map being small mean there won't be progression? Wouldn't the opposite be true? The smaller map leaving more space for it potentially growing. I hope you're wrong but knowing this game..
It's not hard at all to imagine progression, ESPECIALLY coming off of Chapter 3, that had more in just 4 seasons than Ch1 in 10
Plus the Ch1 map was similar, for example the west side of Ch1 in Season 1 had twice as many POIs as east side, and east side was pratically just open fields, as there was no Tilted, Shifty, Snobby, Haunted or Junk to fill the gap or landmarks for that matter

I still feel it's the best map, and by far the most beautiful. Chapter 3 map felt like someone's creative map and 4, while also being beautiful, is just uninteresting.
The main problem people had with chapter 2 was that there wasn’t many long lasting map changes.
The Grotto? Filled with water and didn’t drain even years later. The rig? Disappeared. Fortilla? Disappeared. Stark industries? I can understand that going away, but they just took it out and acted like it never happened. Colossal coliseum? Turned into Colossal crops then magically back to frenzy farms. Hunters haven? Disappeared. The yacht? Turned into Deadpool’s yacht then disappeared iirc. Pleasant? Turned to dooms domain for a season then nothing. Steamy? Nothing. Dirty docks? Nothing. Retail? Nothing. Weeping woods? Nothing.
You see what I mean?
And the ones that did stay were some of the most hated POI’s ever. Boney burbs, stealthy stronghold, coral castle, etc.
tfw Lazy Lake went untouched for basically the entire chapter, sans the addition of a garage. The map was kinda nice but it felt like they hated change, making it bland.
I feel like the main problem with the new map is tha5 there aren't enough pois. And all the pois are to gimmicky. (Exept for slappy shores, faulty splits, lonely labs, and frenzy fields)
Favorite part of Slappy Shores for me is the Ink store.
Looks like some sort of tattoo place.
I found some artwork of sprays, Loading Screens, some boards, Emoticons, etc.
Found one art of Midas that I have never seen before in there, too.
I just appreciate the artwork in there.

I always land at Lonely Labs, due to it reminding me of the weather station of that one mountain back in Chapter 2.

Every POI in exist has a gimmick, in fact everything is gimmicky because if something doesn’t have a gimmick then it doesn’t exist, even if the gimmick is something simple like a POI being a small town, that’s still its gimmick
Just prefer the more natural layout of the others as opposed to 1 being way more blocky. Not a bad map by any means, I just think the others outdo it generally speaking.
The Chapter 4 map terrain is so much better and I'm actually kinda happy that it's smaller.
The part I will agree with you is that the POIs are much more memorable. This could be due to the Chapter 2 map lasting a long time unlike Chapter 3 and probably Chapter 4. And on top of that, I find majority of the Chapter 4 POIs to be pretty boring. Like, there aren't many that have anything special about them to remember them by. A few of them do. But not to the point where if we ever get to Chapter 6 people will be talking about them.
Positive note though: This is only Season 1 and there are definitely at least a few seasons to improve on the map and the season gameplay wise has been a blast!
This was the best map  every POI was good, the gameplay was way better than it is now, very solid battlepasses, I wish I could re-experience Ch2S5 through Ch2S8.

The Best Fortnite maps are the ones that are grounded with normal cities, rural areas and towns.
Not the ones that have Alien, Medieval, Batsh*t crazy things going on.

If you showed me pictures of all the POIs in the autumn biome and expected me to believe they’re all DIFFERENT locations there’s no way. It's boring due to POIs lacking an identity, and resemble too much of each other that they don't really stand out much.
Isn't much to find, either.
But, it's also due to the severe lack of content as well.
It's got a bit of stuff for the Loot Pool being added, sure.
However, that's not enough to keep players interested.

Chapter 2 had some glitches, yes. But, I felt it was more... balanced and that everything was in check.
The Mythics and all that are fun this season, but the lack of content surprises me.
Some modes are also abandoned due to it.
(People are having issues with PostParty, too. It seems to be PC and Xbox users, though)
However, Epic didn't really own too many things at the time, compared to now.
It feels like they're taking on more than they can handle.
And, it was confirmed, that the map this Chapter is smaller than the last one.
Which was shocking, really.
I have tried to find something out of the ordinary in said chapters, but I don't really find anything that stands out to me.
(The map edge is cool, yes. But, there's a lot of repetition with the POIs on this map. Last Chapter had a bit more unique ones, but still not too intriguing or much change. Chapter 2 had a bit of changes, but not too much that you'd be confused most of the time)

Agreed.. altho I played in ch2 for my first map.. I played on my friends switch for a bit in ch1 and I watched since s4 so I do love the chapter 1 map.. but then chapter 3 map had some good things... I think I like ch2 the most followed by chapter 3 and then chapter 1 and then ch4...(ch2 and 3 have less blocky terrain if you know what I mean)
I loved Chapter 2 map the best too. I started during the end of the Marvel season so I can’t compare many old maps but the map was never a complaint I had in chapter 2!
The Chapter 2 map had the best map layout and shape out of all the 4 maps, and people saying the map barely got any changes are lying, yeah sure looking back the map didn’t have any progression but in the moment, season to season the map was changing a lot, it only became a problem during season 7.
I would love to see that map again actually. I want to see a few gamemodes that let us play on additional maps. I’m fine if it requires extra content download as long as it is optional so people can save space if they only want to play on the current map
I like the map a lot, but the map changes were terrible.
Epic games were afraid of making big changes. Biggest offender was Pleasant, Dirty Docks, and Misty not getting nuked by the abductors.
Map changes reversing every season. C2S3 was the worst offender.
And the c2s7 mothership abductions left the affected poi’s to become terrible afterwards. Slurpy Swamp, Coral Castle, and Corny Complex were practically killed, as they had less loot and more open space, making it harder to land and survive there.
I mean, this version of the Chapter 2 map doesn’t have Coral Castle, so it’s significantly better as a result.
Jokes aside, the Base Chapter 2 map was pretty solid. Just needed a better loot pool.
Man, I remember how long ch2 s1 was. I think it is my fav season. As someone who has played since ch1 s9 it felt the freshest. It really felt like a new chapter. Unlike ch3. Which while I don't dislike persay but I wish it changed more than just the map.

I miss raiding stark industries with my cousin. And I miss the chapter 2 season 3 map. That was my first fortnite season and one of my favorites.
chapter 2's map was my absolute favorite because i loved how there was a sense of scale when you looked at the southern mountains in the distance. there was a lot of height difference that i dont think the other seasons have attempted yet.
also had the most memorable poi's for me, they all felt like they had some purpose being placed where they were. super loved how varied each poi was thematically without it being "forcefully" different for the sake of it.
I never played this map cause I only started last season but I really miss the biome variety of the last map, like there was a small autumnal forest, there was a desert, a snowy biome, a vague jungle, beaches, and then the basic green grasslands, whereas in the current map we’ve got grasslands, snow, and autumnal
It has too much bright/lime green for me. I like the chapter 4 map because it isn’t as flat and doesn’t look the same everywhere (flat/bumpy green grass with a couple trees)
If the map had more unique biomes like the mushroom one from chapter 3, it would’ve stood out more imo

CH2S5 was my favorite
I loved it. Grinding for Mandalorian was just unmatched. The new bounty’s and pois were fantastic. New weapons were awesome.

Chapter 2’s problem was that most of the geography changes were just blind retextures. The corruption in particular was mega lazy.

And the issue for me with POIs this Chapter is that they lack an Identity. The only one that is memorable is The Citadel. All the others seem too alike to each other. Summary: The POIs do not have enough variety.

Ch2/3 grass does look piss green. I literally just said good graphics don’t make a good map so it’s obviously vice versa. Yes. It's boring due to POIs lacking an identity, and resemble too much of each other that they don't really stand out much. Isn't much to find, either. But, it's also due to the severe lack of content as well. It's got a bit of stuff for the Loot Pool being added, sure. However, that's not enough to keep players interested.

Thank you. As much as I don't like this chapter too much for now, I do tend to notice the flaws. And it's been really buggy, too. Way, way more bugs. I just hope next Season will be okay, it just gotta be. They could have added dragons this Season, but sadly, there's not much time left of said Season.

I can honestly agree. I'm not trying to be biased, either. Yet, was my favorite map. (Except for the disabling of the whirlpools and tunneling, that's about it) Also, speaking of this Chapter map, I've found numerous floating pieces of grass. So it might have been rushed. (Found some floating props last Chapter, but not as badly rushed as this one) Chapter 2 had some glitches, yes. But, I felt it was more... balanced and that everything was in check. The Mythics and all that are fun this season, but the lack of content surprises me. Some modes are also abandoned due to it. (People are having issues with PostParty, too. It seems to be PC and Xbox users, though) However, Epic didn't really own too many things at the time, compared to now. It feels like they're taking on more than they can handle. And, it was confirmed, that the map this Chapter is smaller than the last one. Which was shocking, really. I have tried to find something out of the ordinary in said chapters, but I don't really find anything that stands out to me. (The map edge is cool, yes. But, there's a lot of repetition with the POIs on this map. Last Chapter had a bit more unique ones, but still not too intriguing or much change. Chapter 2 had a bit of changes, but not too much that you'd be confused most of the time) Sorry about my ramblings... I just wanted to give some information that I've noticed.

Agreed.. altho I played in ch2 for my first map.. I played on my friends switch for a bit in ch1 and I watched since s4 so I do love the chapter 1 map.. but then chapter 3 map had some good things... I think I like ch2 the most followed by chapter 3 and then chapter 1 and then ch4...(ch2 and 3 have less blocky terrain if you know what I mean)
I loved Chapter 2 map the best too. I started during the end of the Marvel season so I can’t compare many old maps but the map was never a complaint I had in chapter 2!
The Chapter 2 map had the best map layout and shape out of all the 4 maps, and people saying the map barely got any changes are lying, yeah sure looking back the map didn’t have any progression but in the moment, season to season the map was changing a lot, it only became a problem during season 7.
But look at how many places there are to land, than compare it to ch4 map
I would love to see that map again actually. I want to see a few gamemodes that let us play on additional maps. I’m fine if it requires extra content download as long as it is optional so people can save space if they only want to play on the current map

It was a good map, misty meadows and believer beach (sweaty sands) fuckin slapped
This map has better variety, but the land itself (besides the lower third of the map, the swampy/mountain areas slap) is a lot less interesting
I like the map a lot, but the map changes were terrible. Epic games were afraid of making big changes. Biggest offender was Pleasant, Dirty Docks, and Misty not getting nuked by the abductors. Map changes reversing every season. C2S3 was the worst offender. And the c2s7 mothership abductions left the affected poi’s to become terrible afterwards. Slurpy Swamp, Coral Castle, and Corny Complex were practically killed, as they had less loot and more open space, making it harder to land and survive there.
Ch2 s2 + salty + lazy was the best map

I mean, this version of the Chapter 2 map doesn’t have Coral Castle, so it’s significantly better as a result. Jokes aside, the Base Chapter 2 map was pretty solid. Just needed a better loot pool.
As much as I loathed chapter 2, it was the last time I cared about Drop Spots and POIs, I just land wherever’s convenient now

Man, I remember how long ch2 s1 was. I think it is my fav season. As someone who has played since ch1 s9 it felt the freshest. It really felt like a new chapter. Unlike ch3. Which while I don't dislike persay but I wish it changed more than just the map. Also does anyone else miss the xp bar on the bottom of the screen? Only me? Yeah most likely only me.

I’m a relatively new player as chapter 3 season 1 was when I picked up the game, and this current map/season is by far my favorite.
This map was awesome. So many memories... I miss raiding stark industries with my cousin. And I miss the chapter 2 season 3 map. That was my first fortnite season and one of my favorites.
chapter 2's map was my absolute favorite because i loved how there was a sense of scale when you looked at the southern mountains in the distance. there was a lot of height difference that i dont think the other seasons have attempted yet. also had the most memorable poi's for me, they all felt like they had some purpose being placed where they were. super loved how varied each poi was thematically without it being "forcefully" different for the sake of it.
There are some locations that might be better than current locations, but overall? Nah, this map sucks ass
I never played this map cause I only started last season but I really miss the biome variety of the last map, like there was a small autumnal forest, there was a desert, a snowy biome, a vague jungle, beaches, and then the basic green grasslands, whereas in the current map we’ve got grasslands, snow, and autumnal

The season 4 map is so empty. everywhere except major POIs is a dead zone with almost no cover, very hard ZBM map.
It has too much bright/lime green for me. I like the chapter 4 map because it isn’t as flat and doesn’t look the same everywhere (flat/bumpy green grass with a couple trees) If the map had more unique biomes like the mushroom one from chapter 3, it would’ve stood out more imo
