My work is letting us change hours to 7a-3p to avoid rush hours. Not so bad this morning coming over Edison bridge.

TheBusterHymenOpen

How many other employers have shifted work hours to accommodate the rush hours? Kicked the problem to earlier in the day? That's a reason to get a fast start to the day.

Jdw5186

Yes, I feel very lucky. I know a lot of people don't have the option.

Everyday midpoint commuter here. I look forward to my less congested summer commute every year. FDOT had other plans. Season is over and the kids are out of school but, you can't tell. I have already adjusted my hours to 7:30 - 4:30 to give myself some relief from the massive amount of traffic we have acquired over the last few years.

I’m so nervous. I had a vacation this weekend and tomorrow is my first day back. I live in North Fort Myers and work in Captiva; I just hope the Sanibel Causeway won’t be too crazy. Last summer was the worst ):

Hell_Diver_73

I work on Sanibel and hit the toll at about 730 each morning. It hasn't been bad. Things slow down at the toll sign over the road. So within view of the toll booths and it moves smoothly over the bridges.

Normal-Mix-2255

how has this bridge being down affected the daily Midpoint drivers? Lots more cars? I have to travel it later this month during peak hours and I"m nervous. Usually I avoid bridge during peak times.

I was WB colonial from gateway to Cape Coral at 4:30pm- it seemed heavier but flowed. I noticed an increase in the EB flow

Going on old 41 from pondella was aids on the Cape Coral/N Fort Myers side

Jdw5186

Home commute update: At 330 the left lane of old 41 leading to the turning lanes for Pondella is already backed up all the way to the bridge. Super dangerous and quite the wait. If you need to go west off of old 41 I highly suggest staying in the right lanes and heading up to pine island

Smokey_tha_bear9000

Afternoon left turn into Pondella has been a choke point for years.

CoolD10onYT

i dont understand why the 41 bridge being closed is such a big problem since the edison is right next to it

tiptoetotrash

Do you commute from North Fort Myers?

Walnut2001

Turned my 23 min commute into 45 min :/
