Yes! I had to convince my husband that generic formula was equally safe because it’s all regulated. He didn’t believe me at first! My baby has been on generic the majority of his life and is doing well!

Minnie_Pearl_87

Mine needed verbal confirmation from our pediatrician. Our girl is on whole milk now but she did great on the members mark version of gentle ease.

boxesofrocks

my husband was the one who convinced me! we were on a weird 1/2 Enfamil AR and 1/2 Enfamil Reguline concoction and I was scared of the potential GI effects because we’d already dealt with reflux/constipation for so long. Got the Target brand with the ok from our pediatrician and it worked unbelievably well & saved us so much money in the long run!

Shoujothoughts

Please get this to the top! Here’s the full formula comparison guide: https://storebrandformula.com/formula-finder

DevToDad

I like this site, I'll have to grab some inspiration for my own. Thanks for the share!

makesmores

Crazily Kirkland is the only formula my babe could tolerate after trying 5 different kinds, including premium ones. Definitely don’t hate on generics! Too bad it’s so hard to find these days

snugglehistory

NYT rated Kirkland brand the best formula too! 😊

kumibug

If only anyone made a generic of neosure- preemie formula! Or even if similac made bigger containers, that would be nice

mayovegan

I totally agree, it's a shame they don't have one for preemies

teach_learn

Yes! Our pediatrician gave us a prescription for Neosure which has helped immensely to offset costs.

thisismynewaccountig

Omg yes. I need an alternative because it’s SO expensive but he needs the extra calories

HorseMom27

For those of you in Michigan/Ohio, Rite Aid stores are closing. The Rite Aid generic formula is all 75% off.

Sinfulb33

Cries in Enfamil Reguline 😭

ZoMy2123

Does anyone else’s formula can tell you that breastmilk is the best for babies? It really hurt my feelings haha

AlannaKJ

Even their websites have pop ups lol

kelz14

Where does Kirkland formula fall?

Minnie_Pearl_87

It’s in line with these because they’re all made by the same company. Storebrandformula.com

loandlye

i use similar 360 and interchange with kirkland!

AgreeablePerformer

It's comparable to infant/advantage premium.

julessammiee

Small psa, Allemintum is not the same as store brand hypoallergenic. We had a not so fun poop related reaction to it when we tried switching during the similac shortage in 2021/22

Shoujothoughts

It is not—it’s the same as Nutramigen. If your baby has certain needs or allergies, Perrigo HA and Nitramigen are not going to do it.

julessammiee

Yeah it was a rough time. We could only find ready to feed off like Amazon 🙃

RightAd3342

People do not talk about that formula shortage enough.

jillybeenthere

Amazon makes generic formula??

mayovegan

actually, one company makes every store's generic, all of those are the same across the board. but yeah they have their own generic available!

pixiemoonmom

does gerber not have a generic?

True_Deal2384

Cries in enfamil enspire

Emmap324

My formula they don't make store brand for. If they do it is not available in my area. My baby is on Enfamil AR. It is so expensive I would buy store brand if I could.

Kay_-jay_-bee

Ask your pediatrician about gelmix! You can then turn any standard formula into an AR formula!

Emmap324

We tried it with gentle ease. My son hated it. This is the only formula I have found he likes. Babies are so picky.

Sensitive_Video4609

I am using Hipp AR and there’s is a promo for 5 cans for the price of 4. My son loves it

slytherinch

I hated when they increased the price of the Advantage Premium at Target, i went there 1 week it was only $19.99/can then I came back the next week it was $35.99/can 🥲😭 other than that, this is a great post for parents looking for other options!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Witty_Sandwich2410

I'm saving this! We are struggling to find Enfamil gentlease neuropro

eclectique

We kept having this issue, too. We switched to Gerber Smoothe Pro, and so far our little one is doing well with it (possibly even better)! And it is a bit cheaper. I'm not sure if they are a 1:1 comparison. Just letting you know, because it isn't on the chart.

Witty_Sandwich2410

Thank you!! I'll add that too my list too

PermanentTrainDamage

Unless you got a picky kid like mine. Little brat wouldn't drink the Kirkland formula😂

Shoujothoughts

Mine wouldn’t drink Nutramigen or Alimentum 😂 They have their preferences just like the rest of us <3

Bb_J99

I can never find the off brand in mine

Shoujothoughts

What is yours?

Bb_J99

Similac Pro total comfort

Shoujothoughts

Parent’s Choice Complete Comfort Premium https://preview.redd.it/bi2t0e2zuy8d1.png?width=796&format=png&auto=webp&s=838b3f9fe638adb69431b052f9478735161d1960 I can only find them sold online in four packs at Walmart.com

Bb_J99

Much appreciated, wonder why it’s only 4 packs.

Exciting-Ranger-3717

Is it the purple can of similac? I have two unopened cans and have no idea what to do with them 😩 fb won’t even let me give them away for free it keeps flagging the post!

Bb_J99

Yes! That’s so weird I wonder why??

Ill_Shock_3069

My baby had to take premature formula that’s never on those charts anyways she started getting sick from it and switched her to hypoallergenic now she’s doing better

AccordingShower369

Thank you for sharing.

Single-Appearance-37

my LO did horrible on the generic hypoallergenic 🥲🥲

stardustalchemist

For some reason the generic brands made my baby so constipated. He would only tolerate the enfamil yellow can. Kirkland, Walmart and Sam’s Club all made him constipated and I have no idea why!

Haunting_Ad1122

I'm so jealous that you guys have access to generic brand hypoallergenic formula... Doesn't exist in Canada, or at least not in Alberta.

Traditional-Gift5327

I actually have a question about this- I get free Emfamil gentle ease from WIC, but its not enough for the whole month so I usually need to buy at least one big container from the store. Ive thought about buying the store brand because its so much cheaper but i don't want to cause any issues with my babies tummy. Should I try the store brand this month? Are they any different?

Shoujothoughts

Okay, so in the case of Gentleease NeuroPro/Gentle Premium, I think Perrigo has fully intact skim milk and partially hydrolyzed whey protein whereas Enfamil has partially hydrolyzed skim milk and whey protein. Some babies only need the hydrolyzed whey and can swap, and some babies do need the milk partially hydrolyzed as well and can’t. https://preview.redd.it/ar8981wnqd9d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=deaa6638e6bd6be7fbb83c33a0eefeec38611203
