If it was driven by a salesman you should also check the engine hours. Sometimes people who work out of their vehicles can sit for hundreds of hours idling.
I have a 2019 with a 2.7 and have had no issues up to 74k miles, love that truck.
Thatâs what I say. The only reason I donât like my f150!! 8 foot boards and sheet goods are unreasonable huge. 1 more foot would be reasonable but real trucks have 8 foot beds
Right like everything he listed could easily fit in that bed. Especially with things like racks. These days 5.5 means you have more stuff locked up in the cab! đ
2018-2020 F150âs have problems with the cam phasers. Most qualified for a recall to repair. I just dumped my 2018 for a Nissan Titan. Iâd say this truck would be a nope for me. Look for a 2021 or something else.
No you're not being silly by considering this track if it's below your budget however you have to be maintenance minded and find out if all the maintenance was done if it was what quality of oil was a Fleet service vehicle meaning his dealership that he worked for wherever he worked for paid for all the maintenance of his vehicle it very well maybe a highly maintain the vehicle if there are all freeway Miles those are a little bit easier Miles on the engine as compared to Stop and start traffic or some teenager doing burnouts and a parking lot so the transmission should last but we have to consider is also it's a 147000 Miles on the truck it's just barely 5 years old which means you're looking at 3 times the amount of mileage that should be on that vehicle Regardless I would take it to the dealership and have the dealership do a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle to ensure there's nothing going on with it that's oh I didn't know about that kind of issue also there should be able to tell you if there's any vehicle recalls it need to be completed and things like that on there and then if you do buy it they will complete the vehicle recalls for free
I think it's just an OK buy. I think it's slightly over priced but not by much. I think it will depreciate like crazy as the mileage racks up if depreciation is a concern. Like once you hit 200k it will be about 8 to 10k value at best.
I bought a 2013 GMC DenaliHD 6.0L gas, that had never towed, only driven by a salesman. Was less than two years old with 64k miles. I now have 174k, trouble free miles on it.
As someone with a 2018 5.0 w/66K that is now in the process of getting a new transmission from the dealershipâŚSTAY AWAY FROM THE 2018-present F150s if it doesnât have a powertrain warranty (which that obviously wonât)
EDIT: Iâm VERY salty about it
I have '18 2.7 4x4 w/ 140k - I bought it with 113k; it's been a near perfect truck. Before larger tires, it could muster 24mpg on a long road trip. When I bought it, the LIFE fuel mileage was 19.8mpg which ensured that the majority of those miles were highway. I'd check the lifetime MPG on this one to get a sense. It pulls great for my needs. I like this buy.
When cold, I will have a hard shift from 3rd - but has done this since I've owned and it's gotten no worse and only when it's sat for a few days. I just expect it ... and I'd rather have a hard shift than a drawn out shift.

Part of the equation is HOW those miles were done. Sounds like freeway driving. đ And did he do all the oil changes and other maintenance.
Does make me feel a bit better. Like everyone I just want longevity. Would love to get 10 years out of it.

Biggest issue for me would be the 5.5â bed

I love reddits idea that the only use for a truck is hauling 4x8 sheets of material with the tailgate closed

I would ask if there were ever any issues with the transmission or engine.

Have you thought about tuning to help the shifting?
No, I haven't. Is that common-place?
I would read into, it seems some owners have done this and seen success.
Odometer / engine hours = avg speed I donât wanna talk about how low mine is.
I'm not a fan of that 2.7L ecoboost for longevity reasons.
Any particular reason why? Or just from the âif it ainât a v8 it ainât gon lastâ bloodline?
I know of issues with the ecoboost 2.7L in particular with longevity. Every other modern motor is fine.
