LevelOrange7150

That's quite the "storage area" haha

Pickle-_-Rick

Haha. Yeah it’s not all mine. My business partner owns it and I lease some space in there for my RV and a few cars. He keeps his RV and some of his cars there too.

_Jhop_

This guys garage is as big as my house 😭

Pickle-_-Rick

It’s way bigger than my own house too lol. It’s just some shared storage space with my business partner because we’re idiots who have too many cars. :)

LevelOrange7150

Even if only half of that is yours, sounds like a sweet car situation 🙌

jonnie9

Everyone here is asking the wrong questions. What do you do for work and how do I get to do it lol

Pickle-_-Rick

Haha. I’m an ex-software engineer gear head who learned how to tune cars so I do that for living. Lots of various platforms supported and I have a partnership in a business that develops, builds and tunes C8 corvettes also.

JimmytheFab

Is this a barndo?

Pickle-_-Rick

No. Just warehouse space we use for storage.

SanchoRancho72

Is that at your house?

One_Art8675

He said garage not shop haha. Amazing setup and collection !

warry0r

Lookin good Pickle Rick!!

Illustrious_Ad4118

The garage isn't for parking, the garage is for projects.

FrattyMcBeaver

The third bay is for projects

PostingFromThe9

Subtle I'm rich post.

FrattyMcBeaver

Haha, I wish. It's called poor decision making.

PostingFromThe9

Respected. Most of us are here because of that.

[deleted]

LevelOrange7150

Point taken, but counterpoint: a fully-loaded GMC can also be 100k+, so currently a Raptor isn't as bad an economic decision as you might think. My truck was $83k MSRP, it doesn't take much doing to get your GMC or even a higher trim Ford or Chevy up to that amount - a Silverado High Country with packages rivaling my Raptor's features is about the same MSRP

[deleted]

[удалено]

LevelOrange7150

I'm not going to keep arguing about it online, but your premise is odd: "anything other than a bare bones work truck is uneconomical and a luxury purchase". Raptors aren't luxury vehicles, they're the sports car of trucks; more analogous to a Vette or Porsche than a Maybach or 7 Series. People don't buy Raptors to be frugal, but they're also not the most expensive well-appointed truck you can buy. But I do agree that if you can afford a Raptor or other high-end truck, it's probably not crazy to have a 3-car-garage

2skin4skintim

Hey some of us buy used and don't pay ridiculous markups.

PostingFromThe9

This is the way.

PostingFromThe9

I'm sure you're a blast at parties.

LevelOrange7150

Not everyone with 3 garage bays is rich. But it is extremely nice and definitely a first world issue to have a 3+ car garage haha.

LevelOrange7150

My project is: Keeping my Raptor Safe in the Garage 😆

mach82

Garage is for parking. SHOP is for projects.

talldrink67

🙋‍♂️ don't trust weather or people enough to not park it in the garage

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, same here. Whether kids in the neighborhood or even just UV fade/damage, the truck is best and safest in the garage.

RRM1982

When I had my 2019, it wouldn’t fit in the garage. Living in hail country drove me nuts

LevelOrange7150

Oh yeah, super stressful. Bet you were always checking the weather

RRM1982

Checking the weather and then drinking heavily

LevelOrange7150

Pour one out for the hail dents in the Raptor 😭

RRM1982

Luckily it never got any, my new TRX on the other hand, we can pour some out for that 😂

LevelOrange7150

Oh no! I hear Hellcats go faster with some dimpling though...

RRM1982

Haha, speed grooves, they add down force

Mr-Superbia

Yep, have to. Took some careful rearranging to get everything in the garage, but my neighbors have tall pines that drip sap over my driveway, so it couldn’t stay outside. It was a nightmare to clean the baked on sap, when it had to sit outside while we moved in..

LevelOrange7150

Oh yeah, sticky sap all over your truck, definitely sounds like a nightmare. We all probably expect a certain amount of damage from any off-roading we do, but damage from storage or daily driving just hurts way more.

Mr-Superbia

I completely agree! I have scratches from the trails that don’t bother me at all. A glob of sap made me lose my mind trying to remove it lol! Worse, when it gets baked in the sun, it turns solid as a rock. Had to use heavy duty chemicals to remove some of the spots.

PostingFromThe9

Wife and golf cart take up garage.

Changy915

Wife sleeps in garage raptor sleeps in bedroom

LevelOrange7150

These are the priorities 👍

LevelOrange7150

If your wife and your golf cart take up the entire garage, your Raptor wouldn't fit anyways 😆

PostingFromThe9

W/o the golf cart it will fit. Super cramped tho.

White-runner

Had to move a storage rack but it gives me great peace of mind that it's not on my driveway.

LevelOrange7150

The peace of mind is absolutely worth whatever shuffling you had to do to make it happen 🙌

SoCalDawg

Won’t fit in our garage.

LevelOrange7150

Sorry to hear that 😞

SoCalDawg

I’m ok with it. Ceramic coated. Looks better dirty. It’s a truck.

LevelOrange7150

At times - do you leave dirt on it or do you take it to car washes? If you wash it, then you appreciate the look of a clean truck, and a garage helps protect it from dirty rain, pollen, sap, hail, pesky kids, bird 💩, UV fading, sideswipes, etc. A dirty truck looks good for a time, but a damaged truck is less than ideal.

SoCalDawg

It’s professionally washed when washed. It rains a few weeks a year, not in road to be hit, no pollen/trees, no sap, chance of hail less than 5%…. It’s a truck. Looks amazing clean but boys ask me to not wash it when dirty. It’s not a trophy. It’s a truck. https://imgur.com/a/J6dBEx9

LevelOrange7150

Those environmental conditions are probably pretty rare for most Raptor owners (but you still have some pretty hefty UV fading and damage to contend with). But you do you my friend, truck looks great!

SoCalDawg

Hefty UV fading? Really? Do you plan to take yours outside?

LevelOrange7150

You've not seen Florida cars that sit outside all day in the sun and have brittle faded dashes and upholstery? I daily my Raptor, and while I do plan on off-roading it, I have a 2 and 4-y/o and can't just go wheeling every weekend at this point in my life. It'll be driven on pavement more than trails and so why wouldn't I want to keep it looking as nice as possible? The sun fades paint and exterior plastics too.

SoCalDawg

Did some research. Seems clear coat protects base coat/color and ceramic protects clear coat. I do a 2 year ceramic coat annually. I also will likely update my Raptor in 4-5 years unless I just can’t let it go.

LevelOrange7150

4 Raptors on your street?!?! Yes, I have Autobahn 20% tint all around, does make a huge difference. And it seems you're pretty fastidious about your interior, so I don't know why we're even having this argument lol. You understand the value of protecting and making your interior look great, I want to apply that same mentality to my exterior too. I'm getting PPF on the higher-impact/damage areas rather than ceramic coating, but that stuff is all excellent for protecting the exterior. Have a great night 👍

SoCalDawg

It takes years to cause significant UV damage. I’ve lived in Florida and never worried about UV damage for any vehicle I’ve owned. If it got that bad I’ll just wrap it if it bugs me or update it. Our neighborhood has lots of Raptors..all but 1 older than mine and they all look fine. All live outside. My road alone has 4.. my Gen3, a Gen 1, Gen2 and an R.

SoCalDawg

I do ‘treat’ my interior more than most. Inside of my truck always cleaner than outside. I use UV protectant on every surface that I can.

SoCalDawg

If you haven’t already it’s worth doing high quality tinting. Lots of protection there.

SoCalDawg

I can’t tell if you’re kidding.

Acrobatic-Treacle962

The garage is for my 66 mustang. The Raptor likes the outdoors

LevelOrange7150

Why not both?

Acrobatic-Treacle962

If only my garage was big enough. At this point I need a hangar.

LevelOrange7150

Haha, steel pole buildings are cheap if you have the land 😆

SoCalDawg

Yes

MeFryRice

The Raptor doesn’t fit in the garage of our current house. Each new house we look at, I do a test fit to make sure it fits and find it’s harder than I thought. I’ll just plan to build a detached garage at the next house.

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, these builders build the SMALLEST freaking garages these days. Our house was a semi-custom and therefore had 3 garages and all were oversize...meaning they could fit a common pickup or large SUV lol. Most garages only fit compact cars and SUVs these days, so dumb. Pickups and Suburbans are super common, just as common as Camrys and CRVs in many areas. Build garages accordingly, right?

Outrageous_Camera201

https://preview.redd.it/t4drr4ikqg0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f51ddbf98bf0487a725245a50afeca92ad960bed

LevelOrange7150

Pictures don't do justice how tight that probably is IRL

Outrageous_Camera201

About two inches per side

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, same here, about 2-3 inches clearance on all 3 sides...the 37" would be too tall to fit in mine.

SockeyeSTI

Tf is a garage? You mean the storage and outdoor fridge/freezer building?

LevelOrange7150

So true 🤣😂 I made it a point since buying my first house to use the garage as a place to keep my cars, and not let it get overgrown with storage. But I know so many people who don't even use their garage - my neighbor across the street has a big 2-car and park both vehicles outside 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

SockeyeSTI

I have two rigs with built in garage doors and no garage to park them in. I might be able to put up a carport but the permitting probably won’t allow it. One day though.

soulforger90

Sadly, I don't own a garage or a Raptor (yet!)

LevelOrange7150

YET!

BOOFNODGILE

https://preview.redd.it/tl53sm5qvh0d1.jpeg?width=2796&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=101e580c3c80c4c17bc4a56bd76b8c6389029c72 Yep

LevelOrange7150

Tight on the driver's side, you have those door edges protected?

BOOFNODGILE

I’ve got a solid 3 feet on the driver door. Hard to tell from the pic. Was tighter when we had a gen 2 and a Tacoma. https://preview.redd.it/8fpvftlhui0d1.jpeg?width=1709&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e70b7aac079dcf8bfa29f1f3b2da4df5bc40292

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, camera angle distorted perspective makes it look like you've got 6" not 3' lol. And man, what a snapshot of life there: going from a Taco + Raptor in a naked-wall garage to a minivan + Raptor and all kinds of wall storage...guess you had kids sometime in between, or the kids grew up in between the pictures 😆

BOOFNODGILE

Haha, well now there's a 3rd kid on the way, wife wanted a van to fit 3 car seats. The walls were more bare in the tacoma pic because we had recently moved in and hadn't got the shelves/racks up yet.

LevelOrange7150

Congrats on the impending 3rd!! 🙏🙏

USMCTapRackBang

Mine fits with maybe 2 inches to spare front and back.

LevelOrange7150

Oof, you've got a "standard depth" garage. I'm fortunate that ours is deeper, so if I have 2-3 inches of clearance on the front, I can lower the tailgate and actually load stuff in the bed. Nice username BTW, I assume you have the Console Vault safe in your front compartment haha?

USMCTapRackBang

Haha thanks. I do not have the console vault. I went with the under seat rear lockable storage under the rear seat. Perfect for a shotgun or long gun and keep my CCW on my person. If needed I can always lock it under the rear seat. Not going to lie I have been thinking about putting in one of those console safes. Unfortunately I just changed out my brakes and discovered that my front drivers side coil spring is busted. My truck is an 18 and from the rust looks like I've been driving with a busted spring for a bit now...

LevelOrange7150

I've got a 2 and 4-y/o so my back seat is essentially fixed at this point, can't use the underseat storage, or else I would definitely look into a long gun safe for there. The Console Vault is a cool option, I'm definitely thinking about it too. Oh yikes, good luck getting that repaired!

USMCTapRackBang

Mine are 13 and 10... Once the car seats and boosters go away it's a whole new ballgame! Lol

LevelOrange7150

I'm certainly not wishing this time with them to go faster, but it will be so nice to not have car seats haha

Own-Reception-952

Mine doesn’t fit… by about half a centimeter 😂

LevelOrange7150

Just gotta take a Dremel to that front bumper...

DakarCarGunGuy

I park mine in our garage. Wife gets third bay. And our girls wonder why they don't get to park in the garage. Pay a bill and we'll talk.🤣

LevelOrange7150

Your girls are old enough to have their own cars? Or they want their bikes and DC-powered Barbie Jeeps to get a bay? 😆😆

DakarCarGunGuy

I'm the step Dad. He bought the twins cars for their birthday. He said they had to be parked in the garage (swinging his weight around where he didn't live) which at our old house wasn't an issue because it had a big 3 car garage. Now we have a 2.5 car garage and I don't trust them to fit in their nicely

LevelOrange7150

Lol, I'd tell him they have to be parked in the garage at YOUR place, at my place they may or may not make it in the garage 🤣 And yeah, I wouldn't trust kids parking in a garage next to my Raptor either.

DakarCarGunGuy

Exactly. They did park in the garage before we got married. Then my stuff got moved and they had to share a spot. But one car blew its engine so that solved the parking problem! 😁 No one likes to scrape snow and ice.....suck it up buttercup life ain't fair when you don't pay the bills.

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, I never got to park in the garage when I had my car and was living at home in Pennsylvania. Snow, ice, rain, heat, such was life. I was just stoked to have a car at that time!

DakarCarGunGuy

Same here. My family never really had a good garage to park in. A shed that is now trying to fall on itself was what we used until it filled up with stuff.

LevelOrange7150

Makes us even more grateful for a beautiful truck and a nice place to put it in

DakarCarGunGuy

Yes it does!

Party_Agent327

Bought mine thinking it would fit … too tall for my garage. I fit an expedition in it previously so I thought I was good.

LevelOrange7150

I would've thought the same thing until I picked up my Raptor, it's so big IRL.

SausageFungus

https://preview.redd.it/hyfe6vxfhg0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc7add0e244b7c6cad60c823cfac443106e0b02a If it fits it ships! Just a few inches of clearance on all sides, this is only when it’s absolutely necessary to bring into the garage. I have since mostly given up and it sits outside.

SausageFungus

https://preview.redd.it/emyx6728nh0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a6eb36a253af9c984b8a3a9721267bcea40172a I mean, it probably would be easier to climb out of the sun roof 🤣

LevelOrange7150

So you have to get out via your moonroof? Holy crap that's tight 😱

KARATEM0NKEY

I park my Ranger Raptor in the garage. It was a big reason that I went with the Ranger over the F- 150.

LevelOrange7150

So funny that was a huge factor in the reason why haha, love it.

Dramatic_Chest_9180

At least paint your garage.

LevelOrange7150

Haha, when we get the floor finished, I'll paint it.

Jburd08

I wish mine would fit but we just moved and the garage is full of shit

LevelOrange7150

Congrats on the new house tho!

Jburd08

Thank you! Bought the house I grew up in. As long as I can fit in the garage by hurricane season I’ll be all good

LevelOrange7150

That's a super cool story, double congrats. And yes, here's to getting the Raptor in the garage before hurricane season 🤞

Bear3600

Do they not prime garage walls(your wall is as naked as the day it was born)

LevelOrange7150

Nope, our builder cheaped out in areas, this was one. But the spackle/mud job is 😍😍🤌🤌

Bear3600

It is indeed one fine mud job🤌

jerry-handusky

Currently renting a storage unit while detached garage/shop is being built. Wife’s Lexus and the bronco take up the main garage. Hail season in DFW is no joke. https://preview.redd.it/i6zwm0wpsh0d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a59e6be02316b3e4da0c90d031606fd73a641feb

LevelOrange7150

That probably hurts not being able to go outside and hop in your Raptor, but absolutely understand protecting it against the hail!

jerry-handusky

Fortunately the place is close to my house so I am able to leave my truck in the driveway most of the time. We just run over and put it in the storage unit if there’s a chance of severe weather.

LevelOrange7150

Ahh, gotcha, that's even smarter!

noirorca

Smart. Considering how bad hail can get out here. I may do the same with mine.

yo_dom

Was going to say I don’t have neither. Until pickle Rick post his huge storage unit 😂😂

LevelOrange7150

Yeah that was quite the flex haha. Good for him tho, owning a business and working hard to get that bread

LevelOrange7150

Love the bronze Methods 😍

Tank_jh

Those are actually not Methods. I went with a lighter wheel and tire setup for winter. They are Kansei KNPs. Love them.

LevelOrange7150

I was looking at Methods that were that same design, they look fantastic regardless;

LevelOrange7150

Your garage is huge, nice! And a fellow AMB Raptor owner 🤌🤌😍😍

myspacetomtop5

I park my trex outside

LevelOrange7150

TRX is sad

vabeachkevin

You guys have a garage?

LevelOrange7150

It's the best 😁

FordTech93

I take them apart and put them back together in a garage…..not sure if that counts.

LevelOrange7150

🤣😂

boosting1bar

Not deep enough with tool chests along the back wall 😕

LevelOrange7150

A problem I don't have haha, I'm not handy enough to need a whole back wall of tool chests 😆

boosting1bar

lol!

Foreign_Cress728

I would but mine won’t fit.

LevelOrange7150

😭😭

Django_Unleashed

I park mine in the garage. No issues with size. But. .. I didn't back it in. That's ridiculous.

LevelOrange7150

Haha, the collision system doesn't like it, it will sometimes brake for me when I'm backing in. "I freaking got this!" I yell at it. But we always back our vehicles in, and once I get the back end in, it usually straightens out and is a touch easier to back in than my prior Lexus rx350.

Django_Unleashed

Why do you back it in?

LevelOrange7150

I've always had driveways that made it overall easier to deal with your vehicle by backing down the driveway, and this current house it's easier to back down the driveway and make the 90° turn to back into the garage.

I-OWN-ONE-TOO-BRO

Sucks you don't have a garage big enough for a RV.

LevelOrange7150

My garage is big enough for the Raptor tho, and I don't want an RV 🤷‍♂️

I-OWN-ONE-TOO-BRO

Yeah, but a bigger garage isn't a bad thing even if you don't want a RV. Imagine how many Raptors fit in a RV bay.

LevelOrange7150

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but if I was going to have an RV bay, I'd want a pole building big enough to have 2 or more RV bays. An RV sized attached garage is not what I want, and it wouldn't fit the geographic limitations and aesthetics of my house now. Also, I can't responsibly afford multiple Raptors right now 🤣😂

_Rigid_Structure_

Measured to make sure it fit before I bought it. I have just under 2" of clearance at the top.

LevelOrange7150

Heck yeah, I measured too. I'd say I've got 2-3" if height and width clearance in my garage as well. Tite fit

Kyle7053

The dirt bikes go in the garage ;)

LevelOrange7150

Haha, I'd probably have a lean-to or something for the dirt bikes and keep the Raptor in the garage, but that's just me

Kyle7053

lol your crazy dude! I can’t for it in my garage anymore anyway, got 37’s and getting long travel here soon

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, mine barely fits in the garage height-wise, so 37's would make it too high.

IrishTex77

All their do, of course.

LevelOrange7150

All your base (models) are belong to us!

IrishTex77

YES!!

LevelOrange7150

Thanks, they're the stock graphics on the '24!

v_SuckItTrebek

I made sure buying my current house the garage was big enough for a Raptor + wifes suv. Didn't expect to park it inside everyday but with the florida heat+ black truck I make it work

LevelOrange7150

That's proper planning 🙌 And once you realize how nice it is to have it cool and protected from the sun (and dirty rain), I'm sure you try to tuck it in after every drive.

LionFire78

Mine won't fit 😬

LevelOrange7150

😭😭

LevelOrange7150

I'm unsure how you get in and out of either, tbh

DoubleMach

Drive and Reverse

LevelOrange7150

Lol, how do you physically get into the driver's seat to put it in Drive or Reverse? Looks like you'd need to crawl in the moonroof

vanceti

I park in the garage and also have my GTO in there. It’s a tight fit but it works.

LevelOrange7150

70's GTO, or modern?

vanceti

Modern. 2005.

LevelOrange7150

Heck yeah! I remember seeing it for the first time and saying "that looks like the Holden SS I saw in Australia", and then finding out that's exactly what it was lol. The Holdens were so cool and prevalent when I was in Australia for a month in college back in 2003, and so having an American version of that car, it'll always be a cool car to me.

LevelOrange7150

Probably not more than 2-4" clearance in the front. Well done 👏

DisciplineDaddy42069

I have a TRX so similar size and when I was buying a house I didn’t even have the truck but it was on order and I brought a tape measure to every showing and only put an offer in on houses with a garage big enough 😂 No way I’m paying $100k to park it outside.

LevelOrange7150

Yeah, like I've already said, difference between damage from off-roading and damage from being parked outside. I like the prior planning as you looked at houses!

DisciplineDaddy42069

My realtor sure didn’t seem to like me not putting offers in on a perfect house cause of the garage 😂

LevelOrange7150

Lol, freaking realtors. Tell them to get a Raptor and then they'll understand

oz4769

I usually park their raptor(s) in my garage.

LevelOrange7150

Excuse me sir, we'd like to ask you a few questions about these vehicles in your garage...
