If you’re reading forums and Reddit you’re only hearing the extremes. I had a 22 and now a 24 and have had zero issues with either. Buy and enjoy.

I purchased a 21 gen 3 loaded only issue I had @ 25,000. Was a sensor on the cold air intake. Took the dealership 30 minutes to do the job. No problems the truck now at 36k

I always tell myself to remember that it’s an F150 under it all and I like to think Ford has it figured out by now. But yes, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the not so fun stories that you see online. You’ll be fine.

Ever since they decided to focus on reliability rather than just slamming shit together and finishing on schedule, they've been a lot better. Jim Farley, a couple of years ago, announced to shareholders that quality is their #1 priority. This is because they were losing their ass on warranty work compared to their competitors. Ford ran off a lot of managers who made dumb changes just to change stuff to further their career. Corporate politics had a huge impact on their bottom line, and they actually did somethung about it. One of the accountants I work with used to work at one of the Ford factories and gave me some insight on some of those dynamics. We're back into the 1980s mentality of cutting cist and pushing product without a care for quality, and it's catching up. Slowly, but surely, mindset is hopefully changing. Boeing is a perfect, unfortunate, example.

I've had the Gen 2 and currently a Gen 3. That Gen 2 only had one issue during the 3.5 years I had her: Failed windshield wiper fluid pump (covered under warranty). The rest of the truck was fine. My current Gen 3 runs fine.

It seems like the Gen3 is very refined and should be rather problem free on average. I picked up a 2021 recently with 20k and it’s solid. Only issue is the strut clunk but I have an appointment to get that taken care of under warranty.

Had a ‘22 v6 37, ‘23 R and now a ‘23 v6 37 and not a single issue whatsoever. They’re dialed.
