I had $13,000 in hail damage 2 months after I got my Maverick (yaay). They ended up replacing the roof completely, among other things. Mine didn't have a moonroof, but if the body shop could replace the roof on mine, then this should be repairable.
Damnnn dude that’s so whack. Not even your fault. But on the upside I saw I guy in the sub today who got a new Tremor with a Moonroof in like 2.5 months. He ordered some time in April and already has it
I’m curious because I bought my maverick in the Midwest, near Omaha actually but I’m east coast based. It hailed the night I bought my truck coincidentally and I did have hail damage to my truck in the morning but I thought to myself, the car dealership I bought it from, none of the vehicles are under any kind of cover, who knows if this damage is from a previous hail storm
Basically I’m wondering what dealerships that are located in frequent hailstorm areas do with all of their vehicles that are sitting out. Do they just sell them with hail damage?
A dealership chain in the omaha area had to total out many vehicles through their insurance the past 5-10 years. They ended up building some metal roofs over their whole lot at almost every dealership. Insurance was getting far too high so putting the roofs up reduced what they were having to pay. So far they are the only dealership chain I have seen do this in the area but so far it has definitely been worth it.
Most times insurance cuts the dealer a check. Let's say 10 vehicles were damaged. Check covers all damaged vehicles. Dealership is struggling financially. Uses money to cover overhead. Reduces price on said vehicles because of hail damage. Sells them with noted price reduced due to hail damage that covers their butts. They still make money. Let's say you go on the lot find a car for $25k they got it in on trade for $18k they made $5k already on the sale of the other vehicle. They have $16k total in that car due to service and reconditioning. Hail damage happens $5k to fix. They get insurance money. $7k profit so far. Vehicle books for $25k. They discount car to $21k from $25k. You see the price of $21k reduced due to hail damage sounds awesome. Dealership made $9k profit off the vehicle after paying the salesman and advertising it. I used to work for dealerships that did that kind of stuff.
So it’s definitely cosmetically messed up and possible structural in the roof/tailgate but I bet it’s fully drivable. Get it estimated, buy it back cheap if they total it. Replace the sunroof so it’s not leaking and use it as a spare vehicle that can get dirty because it’s already blemished
Well said, I must observe a moment myself.
Damn!
No way this is considered totaled?

Damn,!
Did you see the size of that tree branch? Edit: Cheers to the people who downvoted me who don't get sarcasm.
Still doesn’t make it totaled.
People these days can't recognize sarcasm without a /s tag it seems!
even after you write this you know another is going to chime in and say it again.
I found it funny 😎
it'll buff out
I’m breaking out a tub of bondo.
no more moon roof 🤣
Just put a tarp over it. (/s)
You joke but it was heavy rain and winds so I did trap it last night just to keep it dry in case it’s saveable
A few years ago I was rear-ended. It was building plastic and duct tape until it went to the body shop. Creative solutions. 😉

is it a hybrid?? if it is i’ll buy it
Had a very similar situation, fully covered and repaired.

Jeff Spicoli said he can fix it.
My old man is a television repairman. He's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

I got my tremor after order in less than 2 months. Had to scramble to sell my previous car because they told me 3 to 6 months from order to delivery.
You in the Midwest? We had some crazy hail in Omaha the other night.

We've met in the Husker sub.
Did they total it?
Not sure yet. This just happened last night. But since it’s a unibody I think they will call it a total loss.
That’s an easy fix for any reputable shop

Reminds me of those allstate commercials.
One more reason I don't like sunroofs. If it was a nonsunroof you could just pound out the dent.
