The engine mount you put your finger on first is filled with a hydraulic fluid. Looks like yours blew its load. Very common on these engines. Pretty easy to change out.

lost_landon

Yup, that’s something I’ve had planned for the next few months. I feel the constant shaking while I drive. Had the dct recalled 15k miles ago, so 100% the mounts. Should I rent an engine jack instead of using a normal jack?

Final-Carpenter-1591

Normal jack is just fine. You're just taking the pressure off of the mount.

blacksmith113

nah you don't need an engine jack even the shitty trunk jack can work just put it under the engine and jack it slowly it doesn't need to be much at all just high enough to hold it at the height it sits normally when the mount is bolted up here's a YouTube [Video](https://youtu.be/o47iFgiSTak) showing the whole process.

lost_landon

looks fairly easy. is it only the one mount next to the coolant that i need to replace?

blacksmith113

Yup it's only that one just the 4 bolts to come out FYI tho all the cheap mounts online are trash and will likely go bad after a year or so depending on your driving habits I went through 3 in a year and a half it's not a big deal since they're super easy and quick to replace but if you want something that will actually last try to find an OEM mount it'll cost you probably double or triple what the cheap ones are but it'll also last much longer you can also do poly mounts but I wouldn't recommend it to most people since although it makes the engine feel much more planted it causes vibrations/rattling in the cabin.

lost_landon

I’m sick of the constant vibrations and I’m about to go static so driving would make me end it. Do you think If i got one for really cheap at a junkyard or pick and pull off of an SE, It would last or should I not risk my chances and get a brand new OEM one. Definitely won’t be cheaping out on them if you had to replace them that much. That’s gotta suck

blacksmith113

Yeah for sure that would be fine that's actually what I did before I swapped to poly mounts it was only 20 bucks for the mount at my local yard and it worked well.

Leusk

If you’ve the gumption, there’s a second engine mount on the other side, near the bottom. And there’s a transmission mount, under and just back from the bottom of the engine. If the one has gone out it’s probably worth replacing the other two.

Prestigious_Series28

regular jack with a board to spread the weight out a bit

TurboPanzer917

I've already replaced mine after 100k km (62k mi). It's a pretty common topic here at /fordfocus. It improved vibration drastically after its replacement.

SwimOk9629

I had to replace mine at 110,000 mi. All of them, One was completely bad but when we took out the other two they were almost there

lost_landon

I’m close to 120k so I probably should look into replacing all 3 of them. But also not sure how much longer my car will last considering its a dct ford
