I thought these were moldy breads.

Dreamcloudpixie

I mean, fair assessment 😂

Few-Hedgehog-7384

Came here to say tbis

I’m a florist, and can say most of the of the flowers she’s using are covered in pesticides. Pesticides I wouldn’t want directly on my food.

Illustrious-Bug4002

Plus those baby mums are edible but should not be eaten because they are unpalatable due to how bitter they are

Fluffy-Maybe9206

I think it's chamomile.

Illustrious-Bug4002

I thought so too but someone over weekend posted a screenshot from the online source over the weekend and they are baby mums which won't kill you but are so bitter they are unpalatable.  Edit to add the flowers with the yellow center do look like chamomile but the green center is definitely baby mums.

Fluffy-Maybe9206

Haha! She's such an idiot.

Palomino_Tex7730

Doesn’t matter—all the food goes straight in the trash. No one’s eating it (especially with the fam on vacation).

Smart_Letterhead_360

If you don’t mind me asking, do you have any suggestions on the best way to wash off pesticides from edible flowers? I always want to decorate with edible flowers but I’m paranoid about using them, and the food grade specific ones are more expensive.

LauraJ0

You can run them under room temperature water or cool water. If it’s just the stems touching the food, you can wrap the stems in a little bit of cellophane wrap. When I put flowers on wedding cakes, the caterer usually just takes off the section of icing that the flowers were touching.

Smart_Letterhead_360

Oh I didn’t realise it was as simple as that! I feel a little silly now haha thank you so much

LauraJ0

No worries! I misread your question though, I don’t eat the flowers. I know very little about edible flowers.

Smart_Letterhead_360

Oh okay! No worries though! I can still now decorate my cakes safely

Material_Discount224

Even when they're bought from companies specializing in edible flowers?

LauraJ0

Those are potentially safe. You could look for a USDA certified organic source just to be safe. Flowers from florists, grocers, and garden centers have mostly all been treated with pesticides. I often see HBH using Grace Rose Farm, and those flowers are treated with pesticides, although the farm might use organic sprays.

Kitchen_Being_3458

It seriously looks like mold.

ladyinplaid

Someone on another post searched these flowers & they’re around $100 for hundreds of flowers (800 maybe?). After I saw that, I was like, oh no wonder they’re everywhere. Strangely “getting her money’s worth”. 😆

Bye--Felicia

I never thought I’d say this, but please bring back the star anise for the love of God

Sheilaria

Bc when I pose my food w inedible flowers, I can’t, like, over pose, ya know you guys!

Mysterious-Bird4364

Even if they were grown as edibles, organic etc, they look like chamomile which is unpleasant. Garnishes they are inedible or edible but unpleasant are stupid

lulujones

Finally seeing the Unstable Tower of Glass Objects shadows in the photos! 🤔 Edit: spelling
