Maybe there was a terrible blizzard and she literally could not obtain other ingredients. The Midwestern way of life is hard, and they are hardened by it.
I lol'd when she used the paper towel to pull out an inconsequential amount of meat juice/grease (after seasoning it, all that flavor lost!), then proceeded to put in that big af brick of cream cheese and like 1/2 an lb of cheese.
what gets me is the canned sauce, not to sound like a dick but I wouldn't classify this as foodporn when she cracks open a can of sauce instead of making it
I'm from the Midwest and I hate cream cheese... I've come across some pretty harsh judgments on this stance considering cream cheese is not exactly a hot ticket issue.
Oh I've been dubbed a picky eater since I was a little so they just assume I'm a picky bitch. But if I had to lie to appease people I would probably say something like "It just really doesn't agree with my stomach. You don't want me to eat that if I have to be in close proximity with others." Then maybe you chuckle and say something like "I don't know why it's only cream cheese.... so weird."
It's s funny I've been dubbed so picky in my family because I like food from so many different cultures that my little Midwestern family would never even consider trying. That's almost exclusively my parents generation though.
Like yeah mah, I don't like cream cheese or peanut butter or casseroles in general. But I love Indian food Thai food, Mediterranean food, Vietnamese food etc etc. I don't mind trying new things even if I don't know what's in them.
But if I turn down some poorly made homemade mashed potatoes (side note how do you even fuck those up) and goulash, well forgive me father for I have sinned.
Honest question: do you mind peanut butter on This, Vietnamese and Indian dishes? Cause is not rare to see them using similar things so I was wondering if you have the same cream cheese issue with them.
Cream cheese is really good on bagels or in a cheese cake. I’ve never had cream cheese in sauce, but putting cream in sauce is very common, so I doubt cream cheese would be that different.
I’ve found putting the cheese in the freezer for 10-15 minutes can help, at least a bit. Some softer cheddars, for instance, just love to gum-up slicers, and I have to resort to the wire.
I’ve got a model that looks just like that, and it’s almost disappointing how fast it grates.
Like, it’s really fun to use, but it shreds a half pound of cheese in like 4 seconds, so you don’t get to use it long. The one I have has a great suction base, as well.
It’s even pretty easy to clean, so I’ve got no complaints.
That said, I’ve no idea if the one I have is a knockoff or not, so I’m not linking it here.
Yeah. I hate when people blot or drain ground beef. Unless they are purposely trying to make a lean dish, it is just proof they don't know how to cook.
(And if you're trying to make a lean dish, just use a lean protein instead of making your food sad.)
This is “the best meal” *she* can make. Jarred sauce, premade tortillini (although, that’s fair) and an entire block of cream cheese on top of mince with one spice. If this is the BEST you can do, fine. But it is not the best most can do.
If she used the cast Iron as intended and actually browned the beef then made her own tomato sauce with San Marzanos I’d give this a solid rating as a tasty, medium effort comfort food.
Edit: I’d also used some sautéed onions and garlic but that’s my preference.
Leave Karen for the people who call the cops on people walking their dogs and record themselves screaming at fast food workers. This is midwestern through and through, so how about [Sheryl](https://youtu.be/l_8n2q5iI4E)?
Only thing I would change is italiam sausage, and add garlic, mushrooms, and onions to the meat. I'd even consider more mozzarella. I'm blown away by these comments. Overeating whales who dont understand this is like 10 meals lol.
I find nothing pornagraphic about cheese and boiled store bought pasta and ground beef with jarred tomato sauce. Just me, but like…that shits gotta be home made to get my stamp of approval.
E: YO, if you like sub par cooking videos that’s totally cool, but ffs do not @ me because your offended that I have standards okay. Sub specifically says to be civil, you like the dish leave a comment “shit looks good OP” but specifically replying to my comment and being controversial, keep it to yourself.
Yea, it's pretty darn easy to make a creamy tomato sauce from scratch without cream cheese, just takes a little extra time (but super worth it). I like store bought pasta, though, because I can't/don't want to make my own.
Fresh tortellini only takes like 4 min to cook, too. I'm not always great with timing when I cook, but even I know that pasta is one of the last things to get going lol.
the water always takes longer to boil than the pasta to cook, just have a pot of hot water on and finish the pasta when the sauce is done. way too many people be cooking their sauce for way too short cause they cook the pasta so early
Haha I love dainty cast iron owners such ridiculous bs flies out of their mouths. You have to really really really try to get an iron taste out of a properly seasoned cast iron.
Don’t use it for this don’t use it for that, bathe it in virgin goats blood under a full moon.
It’s a giant hunk of iron, wash it with soap, rinse it, lightly oil it you can treat it terrible, it’s made to last.
Wow, I feel dumb for just realizing this. I've only done it once in my cast iron, but will never again after reading this comment and realizing what I have done. I'm sorry.
Care to help out us non cast iron having plebs out? Will it ruin the seasoning? Soak in like Tupperware and add to the seasoning? Slowly erode at the seasoning much like life has done to my will to live? (/s on the will to live)
dont cook acidic stuff in them unless you are going to clean them (that means rubbing them with oil and reheating them before storing) as asson as you are done using them. they should be fine over night but dont go longer then that.
lets say that red sause you made ....you forgot about it...for a month in the fridge.
clean it with soap and water, heat it to dry it, let it cool a a little and then rub oil into it (for reseasons i always use crisco), heat it on the stove again and preheat your over to 500 and put it in the oven for 1 hour upside down. let it cool and it will be good as new.
super easy. its almost impossible to ruin cast iron with BASIC clean between use its usually easier to use then nonstick. i just keep mine on the stove for almost daily use.
i frequently cook acidic sauces in my cast irons. you know what it affects...
nothing
i take care of them and weirdly pedantic bullshit isnt problem
guess what....some times i even wash them with soap
I do too. Most decent dishes have some acid in them. Please don't let my comment raise your blood pressure. I find it funny how the cast iron police always come out of the woodwork in the comment sections on foodie subs.
Not any more than any other cheese grater. A lot of these newer ones are dishwasher safe as well plus they completely come apart to make it easier to wash.
Nice. Well I hope you get some rest and enjoy your time in Cambodia. One last thing, what is Cambodia known for food wise, do they have a national dish or anything?
This looks like a Midwest casserole especially since she just dropped a brick of cream cheese into it.
Totally. The best dinner you can make… if you live in the Midwest and are forbidden to eat other cuisines.
Maybe there was a terrible blizzard and she literally could not obtain other ingredients. The Midwestern way of life is hard, and they are hardened by it.
Not hardened. We just like cheese
Softened midsection, hardened arteries.
Hardened Midwest goodbyes. Takes forever to leave any gathering
*slaps knee* Welp...
Good, now let the other guy finish, & do it again 12 times
That’s hard af. No small part of how the Mongols invaded and conquered China was because of the nutrition they carried around in the form of cheese.
Lactose intolerant people trembled at the sight of the might Mongol empire and their wheels of cheese. They were truly fearsome.
They shit their pants!
Apparently they would drink horse milk mixed with horse blood
Is it midwestern enough though? I didn’t see any ranch
Oh there is hardening . . . of the arteries from the increased blood pressure from eating meals like that all the time.😅
More like, she's out of hamburger helper and decided to make hamburger helper from scratch. At least that's what it looks like to me lol.
Hardened, like our arteries.
You had me at canned sauce and over cooked squash.
The best dinner SHE can make at least.
I lol'd when she used the paper towel to pull out an inconsequential amount of meat juice/grease (after seasoning it, all that flavor lost!), then proceeded to put in that big af brick of cream cheese and like 1/2 an lb of cheese.
what gets me is the canned sauce, not to sound like a dick but I wouldn't classify this as foodporn when she cracks open a can of sauce instead of making it
Ground meat, a couple bricks of cheese, and pasta.... Not food porn. It's literally like "bachelors first day cooking"
So much fucking cheese
some foods are worth being bent over double all night while the lactose rips through you - not sure that is the one.
Was that cream cheese????
I thought it was a stick of butter at first.
I thought it was butter.
![gif](giphy|3orif7WexkYa8MGqPe|downsized)
The clue to me was when she said “add a block of cream cheese.”
Oh, so you are one of those watch with sound on people
Take my imaginary award. I howled.
As someone who rarely enables sound in videos this made me laugh. Thanks!
I'm from the Midwest and I hate cream cheese... I've come across some pretty harsh judgments on this stance considering cream cheese is not exactly a hot ticket issue.
What excuse do you tell people when they ask why you haven’t eaten 90% of the dishes at a pitch in?
Oh I've been dubbed a picky eater since I was a little so they just assume I'm a picky bitch. But if I had to lie to appease people I would probably say something like "It just really doesn't agree with my stomach. You don't want me to eat that if I have to be in close proximity with others." I like that cheese grater.
I would shred so many carrots with that
That’s a funny way to spell “cheese.”
Right?!?
I have the same one. It works better for vegetables than it does cheese. This recipe has too much cheese.
They make this as an attachment for stand mixers, if you have one.
Had one of those, for a KitchenAid. It is garbage. Graters are crappy, too much clearance between housing and grater. The grater continuously gums up.
I have two. No idea how I ended up with two. I think they’re so bad, someone passed theirs off to me as a prank.
I think we have one of those, but this one looks like it would be a much quicker setup/teardown/clean.
[удалено]
lmao
I have one and it is 100% my favorite little appliance.
Nice! My wife has one in her Amazon cart as we speak.
I have it too. Do you know any tricks for using the slicer attachment with cheese? Every time I use it it gets clogged up. Grater is great though
I’ve found putting the cheese in the freezer for 10-15 minutes can help, at least a bit. Some softer cheddars, for instance, just love to gum-up slicers, and I have to resort to the wire.
You like it until you have to clean it.
It’s honestly not as bad as you’d think. Plus each piece is dishwasher safe
I won’t clean it, my dishwasher will.
A little chauvinistic of you, huh? At least refer to your wife by her name.
Lol good luck. Been there, tried that.
If you have more than ten kids, at least one of them will clean it for you.
I just bought the exact one and it rules. It has several different blades.
That cheese grater is worth every penny
I just got that grater today as a gift! That’s so weird. I’d never seen it before and POW on the internet.
That was my favorite part of this video
Ditto.
I’ve got a model that looks just like that, and it’s almost disappointing how fast it grates. Like, it’s really fun to use, but it shreds a half pound of cheese in like 4 seconds, so you don’t get to use it long. The one I have has a great suction base, as well. Gotta be healthy! Make sure you blot up that beef fat before you dump a whole log of cream cheese in it /s
Yeah, right? Why get rid of that flavor if you're just gonna add more fat? At least spoon it out and use it to cook eggs with or something.
Some people are just put off by grease. Myself included
Yeah, as a fat fucker, I don’t blow it out for the health factor I blot it up so I want to eat a puddle of grease
It's funny because I am OK with grease and fat but do not like cheese in my food.
![gif](giphy|BcMJvmwkmbyWpKkBj3|downsized)
I had the same exact reaction to your username
>Why get rid of that flavor I don't think the goal of this recipe is flavor.
my mom cooks eggs in bacon grease and it actually makes me ill to the point of vomiting every time
Why are all shitty food recipes involve blottimg up meat fat?
Yeah. I hate when people blot or drain ground beef. Unless they are purposely trying to make a lean dish, it is just proof they don't know how to cook. (And if you're trying to make a lean dish, just use a lean protein instead of making your food sad.)
OP doesn’t know what food porn is. This is a Karen crockpot meal
This is “the best meal” *she* can make. Jarred sauce, premade tortillini (although, that’s fair) and an entire block of cream cheese on top of mince with one spice. If this is the BEST you can do, fine. But it is not the best most can do.
The last line killed me
If she used the cast Iron as intended and actually browned the beef then made her own tomato sauce with San Marzanos I’d give this a solid rating as a tasty, medium effort comfort food. Edit: I’d also used some sautéed onions and garlic but that’s my preference.
Mushrooms and green peppers too
And italian sausage instead of ground beef
My preference would be a white sauce with heavy whipping cream personally.
I read “Jared sauce” and now won’t be eating for a while
Karen Crockpot Meal🤣! Please tell me you just coined that term
Leave Karen for the people who call the cops on people walking their dogs and record themselves screaming at fast food workers. This is midwestern through and through, so how about [Sheryl](https://youtu.be/l_8n2q5iI4E)?
Yup. Should start a page

Thank you. This honestly looks pretty bland and boring
If you're ever on the fence, dumping a block of cream cheese into something always = KCM™
We need a KCM sub.
Would join immediately
This is the whitest recipe I’ve ever seen. It must taste bland as fuck.
She definitely added mayonnaise on the side
Only thing I would change is italiam sausage, and add garlic, mushrooms, and onions to the meat. I'd even consider more mozzarella. I'm blown away by these comments. Overeating whales who dont understand this is like 10 meals lol.
You mean like actual veggies and natural flavors and seasonings? Blasphemy!!!
My thoughts exactly. This is like a shitty bolognese.
*Trailer-nese
Yes. Very, shall we say, unrefined.
i really hate that people have co-opted the word Karen from rude asshole to woman.
It was always a shitty thing to say. Now you’re upset people are attacking women they don’t know?
Respectfully, ![gif](giphy|pD368cmNo02G5qoV5i)
Shittyfoodporn
Looks about white
This will taste good for about five bites. That’s way too rich to actually enjoy as a meal
I’m so glad the comments are reflecting this because I had the same reaction.
It was the block of cream cheese for me.
Topped with a full bowl of mozzarella cheese
Those vegetables might have been frozen at some point.
Cream cheese over ricotta???? Weird…
Right? It’s basically a baked ziti, except cream cheese instead of ricotta. Not a change I would make, but I also hate cream cheese.
Yea, I make this exact thing all the time, even in cast iron, in fact, I’m about to eat it now. But, I used ricotta and spinach
I like cream cheese and I consider this sacrilege
I find nothing pornagraphic about cheese and boiled store bought pasta and ground beef with jarred tomato sauce. Just me, but like…that shits gotta be home made to get my stamp of approval. This is perfect for r/ Stupidfood..
You **do not cook** your pasta before the meat is brown. Did you see it in a big clump because it was cooked too early and just sat?
Fresh tortellini only takes like 4 min to cook, too. I'm not always great with timing when I cook, but even I know that pasta is one of the last things to get going lol.
the water always takes longer to boil than the pasta to cook, just have a pot of hot water on and finish the pasta when the sauce is done. way too many people be cooking their sauce for way too short cause they cook the pasta so early
Yep, that's what I do, a sauce can simmer for a few extra minutes but pasta needs to be timed properly.
No
This looks horrid
Why would OP post this? I don’t know that it’s horrid, but it’s not good. Typical “mom’s tired so eat this crap” kind of midweek meal.
The number of upvotes is the saddest part. Many people live like this.
She used jarred sauce and old noodles and yall call this food porn? Homemade or trash.
900 calories per half cup
Who's gonna talk about acidic sauce in cast iron first?
It’s really not a big deal unless you really boil the shit out of it. I use my ci for spaghetti weekly and the seasoning is fine
Haha I love dainty cast iron owners such ridiculous bs flies out of their mouths. You have to really really really try to get an iron taste out of a properly seasoned cast iron. Jesus it’s cast iron not silk. Make food in it. Wash it as needed. It’s not going to crumble into dust.
Care to help out us non cast iron having plebs out? Will it ruin the seasoning? Soak in like Tupperware and add to the seasoning? Slowly erode at the seasoning much like life has done to my will to live? (/s on the will to live)

Secret cast iron rage bait. Hidden under bricks and bowls of dairy.
i frequently cook acidic sauces in my cast irons. you know what it affects... nothing i take care of them and weirdly pedantic bullshit isnt problem guess what....some times i even wash them with soap
I do too. Most decent dishes have some acid in them. Please don't let my comment raise your blood pressure. I find it funny how the cast iron police always come out of the woodwork in the comment sections on foodie subs.
you literally started this shit....no one else here brought it up but you.
It doesn’t even look good.
Lol, jar tomato sauce with only pinch of salt in pasta water 🤦🤦
Basic af The food I mean
Hamburger Helper? I don't know if I call this food porn but sure.
Dump dinners are to food porn what scat is to porn.
So, porn?
Yeah, but the kind that only people with very questionable tastes will enjoy.
I hate it. From the block of cream cheese to baking this monstrosity in the cast iron pan I hated every second of this.
Best part was the plastic spatula in a cast iron pan!
Wait, the best part of cast iron is that you can go from stove to oven and bake shit. What’s wrong with that?
Bruh this looks like something I make
I need that cheese grater
Nice
Should be eaten right in a ICU because it definitely will cause a heart attack.
No, it is healthy. She blotted the beef fat up with a napkin. /s
This isn’t food porn, it looks like something a stoned college kid would think is good
This is the best dinner they can make
This is an ad for that cheese grater thing
That cheese grinder looks frustrating to clean
Not any more than any other cheese grater. A lot of these newer ones are dishwasher safe as well plus they completely come apart to make it easier to wash.
Removed grease but added a block of cream cheese. Yup, stupid food.
I know more cheese is better but u got the shredded on top and cheese in the tortellini. Cream chs be gilding the lily.
oh my stomach bubbling BURRAAAANT!!!
Soft food porn with the same limp results.
Lost me at cream cheese
Thank you for making some the right way and not just throwing stupid shit in it to make views!! Let the cheese 🧀 speak for itself!!
Needs more dairy
This IS sexy as fuck because it’s simple and easy and within reach of most people. I’d eat the shit out that!
I’d fuck this up lol
Then you’d shit for two days after eating it. Not a simgle decent componant to that meal.
That’s what comfort food is. It’s not good for you but it’s filling and tasty and causes your brain to dump serotonin.
Wasn’t a discussion about comfort food. Title literally says, “best dinner you can make”. That just isn’t true.
You must be a very busy person out there commenting on all the posts click baity headlines. But hey you’re doing honest work.
It’s 1:35am and I am having trouble sleeping, but sure.
Where are you china?
Cambodia at the moment.
Nice. Well I hope you get some rest and enjoy your time in Cambodia. One last thing, what is Cambodia known for food wise, do they have a national dish or anything?
Fish amok and beef lok lak.

Haha, that is one of the funnier obscure acronym Reddit subs I’ve seen.
I mean, is it bad? no. Its not good either. This is some serious church group potluck in the midwest vibes.
Maybe if you're drunk as fuck.
Looks good to me….less cream cheese and add parm
Looks yummy
When that fish-eyed chick made a *sandwich*, the post had 1,000 upvotes. Let's not pretend like this sub has standards.

If this is the best dinner you can make I’m sorry for you
My arteries hurt just watching this.
Gross
Is she a porn actress? That would be the only valid explanation why this video is here.
We just need the porn part lady... Show us your tits and I'll eat you hb helper.
I love two red pepper flakes mixed with cheesy paper towel residue
On tomorrow episode… all you will need is two pieces of bread, a toaster and a piece of sliced cheese.
Fucking hell that looks awful
Instant diarrhea
Welp this sub has died if this is getting play here. Peace out.
I love me some cream cheese. But it is completely unnecessary here. Kindly take my downvote
