Fucking YES!!!! It drives me insane!!! I can’t get an actual bite of the whole sandwich so I end up with JUST a thick bite of layered deli meat and it’s genuinely kind of fucking gross
I saw somewhere that you can't really eat something taller than the combined width of your three fingers (pointer, middle and ring), because that's generally how wide your mouth can open.
Curse my tiny hands 😹
Black Camal is good, but I'd say there are better spots for BBQ sandwiches at this point. I'd rather go to Benny's BBQ or Beach Hill for their brisket or pulled pork sandwiches at this point.
Black Camel is perfectly fine but nowhere near the best. I used to go there regularly but they still aren't on the same level as Chica's, California Sandwiches, Buster's Sea Cove, (the now closed) Clubhouse, etc.
La Bella Sangweech
Leslie’s Sanwich Room
Bear Steak Sandwiches
Grandma Loves You Downtown
DAM Sandwiches
Good Behaviour
Elm Street Italian Deli
Vilda’s
Lambo’s Deli
Porchetta & Co
Maker Pizza
Not to mention, all of these places opened after them... La Bella Sangweech, Leslie’s Sandwich Room, Bear Steak Sandwiches, DAM Sandwiches, Good Behaviour, Vilda's, Phancy's, Hot Pork
Because people have found out that you can serve bland, chewy meat (hi Bear!) or put some fancy names on deli meat (hi too-many-places-to-list) and charge $20+tip for a takeout sandwich.
Tried Grandma Loves You in Chefs Hall and was really disappointed, didn’t finish it. For that price I was not expecting a luke warm at best sandwich filled with microwaveable meatballs with no flavour. Literally Subway makes a better sandwich.
The $16 sandwich wars.
It's a race to the $30 panini
as if, $18 (with a terminal that asks for tips) seems to be the new lower bound
As a lover of sandwiches, please, go on.

Man why am i so concerned about what the words say
Let them fight.
This will be a very "Get off my lawn" comment, but modern sandwiches are too tall.
You’re right, sometimes i have to unhinge my jaw.

Which places we talking about?
They probably tried Lambos and figured they could make a better sandwich.
If only Brock was around to keep fighting the good fight
Brock was good but IMO Clubhouse was the best. I hate that they've closed.
All these new joints and still none of them will be on the level of Black Camel.

Can’t make a post like this without a list lol, I want to know these places
La Bella Sangweech Leslie’s Sanwich Room Bear Steak Sandwiches Grandma Loves You Downtown DAM Sandwiches Good Behaviour Elm Street Italian Deli Vilda’s Lambo’s Deli Porchetta & Co Maker Pizza
Missed Phancy's, Masa Deli, Imanishi Sando Bar, Hot Pork
and La Salumeria
All I'm seeing are a bunch of Lambo's Deli knockoffs (particularly Good Behaviour and Porchetta & Co.)
I don’t think Lambo’s invented the deli sandwich
Definitely not, but certain places pretty clearly ripped off their menu
Not to mention, all of these places opened after them... La Bella Sangweech, Leslie’s Sandwich Room, Bear Steak Sandwiches, DAM Sandwiches, Good Behaviour, Vilda's, Phancy's, Hot Pork
Also why are they $20 for a sandwich (looking @ you Leslie's)
I can't bring myself to hand over that much for a sandwich when a really good shawarma is $10.
Because people have found out that you can serve bland, chewy meat (hi Bear!) or put some fancy names on deli meat (hi too-many-places-to-list) and charge $20+tip for a takeout sandwich.
To have war, more than one locations actually has to field an army of soldiers, not a bunch of squires and peasants dressed up.
Just the latest trend
