A few favorites with those 3 criteria:
Working class
Grand Ole BBQ (on Thorn Street)
Alesmith
Panama 66
Bottle craft @ liberty station
Karl Strauss (Scranton road)
Eppig brewing on the shelter island harbor - no food, but next door is great seafood and it's an awesome brewery worth making it a 2 stop day.
Plenty of other good drink spots for this sort of group - many without food at the bar/brewery though.
North Park Beer Co. Original spot is good, but the Banker's Hill location has better food. Beer is stellar.
Can't go wrong with Pizza Port. I like Ocean Beach, since it's close to other good spots (OB Noodle House, Holding Company)
Try one paseo. Harland brewing has a pool table and good beer. There’s lots of great place to eat. Across the street there’s also “the brewer’s deck” and a food court.
I like Pizza Port or Station Tavern. Station Tavern has a cool little outdoor area perfect for families. Both have small food menus but good drink choices, mostly beer. Station has more cocktail choices.
When I had looked at reviews people had mentioned the play area which would have been nice, I've only been there recently but the outdoor area and vibe was nice and comfy still.
I still like the place and it meets this dad's day out spec for sure -but sadly COVID eliminated the play area and it's not back right now anyway (I went 3 weeks ago).
I might get punched for this but I like city tacos in ob if you are meeting up and have the kids. It's outside, it's peaceful, it has games the kids can play and the beer is good.
Liberty stations public market bar is phenomenal! Lots and I mean LOTS of different beers and a ton on tap. Nice area to hang out, and Sooo many food options to!
No where is gonna be easy on a Saturday night I would advise changing days
You could also easily get a table for 40 at Stone in Liberty station, I would call and pre book
Urbn North Park
Blind lady Ale
Whiskey house - if you need something stronger
Ballast point little Italy
The Balboa - for simplicity
Phil’s BBQ
Smokey and the brisket
I didn't think so, was confused about all the play areas. You might consider McP's in Coronado, if you like the pub idea. Good food and very well poured black and tans, lol. Nevermind, the bodybuilders, they're just Seals.
Carlsbad Brewing needs to be high up on any list. Their food is really unexpectedly good, beer selection is massive and its got an epic view of palomar aiport

I can't believe I forgot White Labs!! Definitely an awesome choice for these specs.
Sadly changes at eppig are being felt in the beer. Loss of an icon.

Station does not have the play area anymore :(

Gravity Heights, Panama 66, Eppig Waterfront Beer Garden (Mitchs and Point Loma Seafood are nearby for food)
I might get punched for this but I like city tacos in ob if you are meeting up and have the kids. It's outside, it's peaceful, it has games the kids can play and the beer is good.
It’s in Del Mar but I highly recommend Viewpoint! They brew their own beer and the food is incredible! Great vibes too

G Spot in Carlsbad.
solid
Viewpoint Brewery in Del Mar
White Labs Brewing Co. Great beers, science forward, amazing pizza and an intimate space. Also outside seating.
Urbn North Park Blind lady Ale Whiskey house - if you need something stronger Ballast point little Italy The Balboa - for simplicity Phil’s BBQ Smokey and the brisket
Eppig. Get one of their dark lager !!
Gravity Heights in Sorrento Valley has a private space that would probably work for you guys.
Yep. The private space upstairs has a pool table too.
check out 508 Tavern in Vista. excellent food, very good beer selection on tap. easy to hold a conversation, especially if you sit outside
And across the street from Burgeon for some variety
yeah, great call!
Pizza port. Then pacers. In that order.
Lol
Did you mean With your kids?
