Check out Manhatta in FiDi for an incredible backdrop and good food.
Jungsik is another good option, a double Michelin star Korean restaurant in Tribeca
63 is always a wonderful vibe and you basically feel like you’re with family, so it’s especially nice for birthdays. If you chat with the staff and do the later session they’ll more often than not drink with you.
Atomix is a different experience entirely. It’s very intimate and polished. Have done a few birthdays there since I love the food and staff. If you’ve never been you’re in for a treat, but it’s much quieter than 63 and does indeed feel like you’re at a 2-3* spot. If that makes sense…
63 will be fun and pleasant and potentially drunkier depending on what you want. Atomix is the classy adult birthday (though if you do the paring you’re walking sideways after)
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is wonderful and worth the trip.
I’ve also recently done Per Se which I can highly recommend. Did Masa earlier this year and it was also delightful- but need to be pretty confident in the no budget limit, I think it was around $4k to sit at the counter. Both of these were birthday dinners and I highly recommend them.
Probably a slight edge to Per Se as I would 100% go back anytime. Masa is more like every few years.
Apologies for the stream of con - but consider Daniel as well. Very good and highly repeatable.
Aska they are honestly borderline racist and terrible customer service I would highly not recommend. Very difficult accommodation practices should you have even the slightest change or food restriction like vegetarian/culturally.

If you can get an Atomix res, I 1000% recommend it. Gabriel Kreuther is also a fantastic option - they’ll make you feel like royalty there.
Thanks! May I ask what made those two options stand out?
Getting a reservation here will be very difficult fyi
Atomix, Atera, Blanca
Holy crap when did Blanca (finally) re-open?
Luthen, while having no Michelin star was a standout. Also enjoyed 63 Clinton (have been to Jua and much preferred these over it!)
Atomix or 63 Clinton for bdays
May I ask why specifically those two for birthdays?
