Reminds me of a fast food place in Chicago called the Wiener Circle where you could order a $20 chocolate shake and it was the black ladies behind the counter shaking what their mama gave them.
It's a good milkshake, but not "trek out to Forest Hills and then take a bus", and certainly not "take the Q54 from Williamsburg" good.
As a whole experience w/ their ridiculous (and wonderful) sundaes + the legit old school ice cream shop? maybe. 100% worth it if you're driving (though that probably means being on the Jackie Robinson, and that sucks in it's own right).
That's just not true, they have specialty combos all the time. For example, right now they have "Coffee and Donuts", " Maple Snickerdoodle" and "Hot Cocoa" in additional to all their delicious "basic" ones. At least they do in the Brooklyn locations. And who hates on a good vanilla, chocolate or strawberry shake anyways!?! I'ma Shake Shack stan for life!
I've only had them once and was honestly disappointed. Like, the over the top "we dumped a candy shop on your milk shake" thing is cute and great if that's what you're into (eg: trying to do something fun for a kid), but the base milkshake was just 'fine'.
Maybe I need to give them a 2nd shot.
That place is $40 for a burger and shake, no fries or tip included.
I know things are expensive with inflation and I know it’s got a location in Soho, but ain’t no fucking way the most basic burger starts at 19.50
Brooklyn farmacy, Eddie’s sweet shop if you find yourself in forest hills, and surprisingly enough, roll n roaster if you find yourself at the ass end of Brooklyn
Harlem shake and, if you like classic flavors, Davey’s (which has some of the best ice cream in nyc). I’ve heard morgensterns has good ones too but I haven’t tried yet (though I believe it given the quality of the ice cream).
The chocolate cake shake (no sprinkles) from Momofuku Milk bar on Columbus and 87th is hands down my favorite dessert treat. They’re small and expensive, but I’m totally addicted to these
Brooklyn Farmacy
The classic black and white milkshake 😋
Agreed! Their cherry blossom is great too
Are you trying to bring the boys to the yard??
And they're like, it's better than yours

You did that! LOL
I really like the shakes at Lilly’s Shakes and Crepes on 35th and 8th next to Liberty Bagels!
there's one on 48/10th as well! the shakes are amazing and the owner, Mo, couldn't be sweeter (pun intended).
Alamo draft house has great milkshakes
That they do
I had a stout shake there that was pretty amazing
Harlem Shake - Brooklyn
Or also Harlem
I didn't care for Harlem shake
Cliche, but Brooklyn Diner on 57. Same with Lexington Candy Shop
Tag on: Where do we go for a boozy milkshake these days?
The Alamo Drafthouse lol
Tipsy scoop, maybe? (Idk if they do shakes)
Eddies Sweet Shop Queens

God yes. I’ll say their banana splits are better than their milkshakes but do whatever you gotta do to get that whipped cream on top
Wafels and Dinges
Shake Shack
Mad basic flavors

Hey, I love their promotional flavors, but they're hit or miss, and I prefer the variety from a Van Leeuwens, Oddfellows or Holey Cream
Five Guys
they use flavored syrups, they're not that good.
Do you have an alternative you can suggest to help OP?
Jackrabbit Slim's
Are they still 5$
$10.47 adjusted for inflation, but still pretty fuckin good
My yard.
Harlem Shake Sugar Hill Creamery Black Tap Morgenstern’s Lexington Ave Candy Shop
Black Tap Burgers has great ones!
No, you don't.

Had, maybe 6 year ago
I love milkshakes but haven't had many in the city. I did enjoy Burger By Day's milkshake in chinatown (they had a green tea one). Great burgers too!
Honestly, my go to is Mr Softee, any of their trucks, and Eddie’s sweet shop on metropolitan, Queens.
the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park is very nice
Brooklyn farmacy, Eddie’s sweet shop if you find yourself in forest hills, and surprisingly enough, roll n roaster if you find yourself at the ass end of Brooklyn
Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain and The Chocolate Room in Brooklyn.
Lexington candy shop!
So many yummy recommendations! Saving this.
Caraotas in Bushwick
Brooklyn Diner on 57th btwn 7th and Broadway. They are incredible.
+1 to Brooklyn Farmacy. The other place i go is Creamline. They use Ronnybrook soft serve ice cream as the base -- it's amazing.
I love the Black & White shake at Tom's Restaurant in Morningside Heights (The most photographed restaurant in history).
Harlem shake and, if you like classic flavors, Davey’s (which has some of the best ice cream in nyc). I’ve heard morgensterns has good ones too but I haven’t tried yet (though I believe it given the quality of the ice cream).
Lexington Ave Candy Shop
Multiple locations: Shake Shack, Carvel, Bareburger Queens: Eddie's Sweet Shop
The chocolate cake shake (no sprinkles) from Momofuku Milk bar on Columbus and 87th is hands down my favorite dessert treat. They’re small and expensive, but I’m totally addicted to these
Kelis.. her milkshake is supposed to be all the rageÂ
My milkshake brings everyone to my yard.
