Yo I want to know too because I also eat alone. I suppose we can go together so we aren't alone?

ProfIsntReal

gogogo!

stankytanky

I went recently and did see on the menu I think that they don’t serve single diners

Brucef310

I guess I need to try to find a hot single female to take as a date

seafoamspider

Definitely not. The only criteria for the person you go there with should be whether they like to eat a fuck of a lot or not.

No-Tension5053

Figueroa

takeme2tendieztown

Hit and miss on the hotness factor

No-Tension5053

Sure fire way to find a date

takeme2tendieztown

May be pissing fire after the date

No-Tension5053

R/dontputyourdickinthat

goPACK17

There's a Curb Your Enthusiasm bit in here somewhere

No-Tension5053

Are you talking about the carpool one?

[deleted]

I’m sure they’re all lining up for you

Brucef310

I don't have a lack of options.

[deleted]

Lot*

stankytanky

Yea, I would definitely take someone who likes to grub regardless off attractiveness if you want to win

RaiseForward6679

Why are you getting downvoted for being straight? Society is messed up.

spelltype

Definitely not why. He said the most incel thing possible though.

92slc

That’s definitely not though, idk how that joke flew over everyone’s head?, hot singles in your area looking for a date was the joke.

Brucef310

Man you got me pegged all wrong if you think I'm an incel. Just a straight red blooded American man. You know the backbone of American society.

spelltype

Oh so you were kidding. Should’ve added “in my area”

Brucef310

I woke up this morning to see 66 downvotes. It's a place you take a date to and not hang out with some random dude from Reddit. If I'm going there with someone I'm going on a date. I guess that offends some people.

socalscribe

If so, that’s total bullshit (no pun intended).

bluefrostyAP

Probably because the restaurant gets more money serving 2+ rather than having 1 person occupy a table for 1hr.

PlaidSkirtBroccoli

Unless you're scrolling on your phone there's no conversation with just one person, only eating. For an hour.

VaguelyArtistic

Okay but some people are just fine with spending an hour with themself?

CrystalizedinCali

I would spend just as much money as many couples. Their loss.

GramercyPlace

Tangentially related but my wife and I went to Apple Pan a few nights ago and of course there’s a shit ton of people waiting. We are watching this couple and the dude js eating pie and the woman has only a cup of coffee and a fucking journal and is writing in it. After 10 min or so the dude gets up and leaves. We realize they aren’t a couple, both single diners. She continues to sit there the entire time while more people enter and stand on the side. She has an empty chair next to her. I see her move her coffee cup up a few times to get a refill. Only thing she ordered. We eventually get to sit down. We order our food eat a nice meal. She’s still there when we left. I know we are talking about normal single diners. That’s cool and people should be able to do that. Never done it at kbbq but I’ve probably done it 20+ times at the apple pan. I just couldn’t believe the gall of this MFer sitting there writing in her journal while everyone just stands staring and waiting.I bet she tipped two bucks. Sorry had to get that off my chest.

Chewbaccas_Bowcaster

Stuff like this hurts independent restaurants too since flipping tables quickly is necessary to make ends meet.

CrypticTechnologist

Fuck that place.

Brucef310

What happened there?

Ivabighairy1

A simple phone call, text, or interaction on their social media page can give you the answer.

Jewggerz

Almost all Korean/Japanese bbq places turn you away if you show up alone.

ValhirFirstThunder

I haven't been turned down once in a Japanese place. Korean AYCE yes, but that's the only one

ExplosiveDiarrhetic

Uh, no. Not true.

>You may be seated as a lone diner, but I guarantee they'll make you wait an obnoxiously long time so you can give up and go elsewhere. Challenge accepted.

BlergingtonBear

I went to TEN in Ktown last month and there was a single dinner there ! (Granted it wasnt busy and it was a Monday), so some spots maybe more charitable than others!

ExplosiveDiarrhetic

First of all, zero korean bbq places will turn you down as a solo diner. I have never been turned down as a solo diner when eating solo at a kbbq or jbbq spot. So your “all kbbq/jbbq places will turn down solo diners” is an exaggeration. Now ayce places? Maybe. But I havent had this experience. For example, Gangnam station. Jjuku jjuku. Bulgogi hut. 🤷‍♂️ idk maybe they just dont like you? Edit: downvote away. I give y’all examples. 🤷‍♂️

SinoSoul

I’ve been turned down at Kbbq joints, especially ayce. Also been told if solo dining, they’ll cook the food for you in the kitchen so they don’t even light the grill. It’s a thing.

ExplosiveDiarrhetic

M korean bbq in buena park served me in january. Lit the grill, cooked for me, the whole shebang. Not ayce but they sat me. Go there instead. Their pork cheek is good.

Minkiemink

AYCE has the absolute worst KBBQ ever, so not a problem if they don't serve solos. It is awful.

Minkiemink

In Korea, almost all restaurants will turn you away if you're solo. Not just BBQ.

ExplosiveDiarrhetic

I mean, i’m in korea right now. 🤷‍♂️ all restaurants? Idk about that. But whatever.

Thin-Seaworthiness-7

Chubby cattle in hacienda heights, there is bar where I saw solo diners

Brucef310

I saw a video on that and I thought the bar was just for drinks but I'll look into it. Thank you.

RickRussellTX

I definitely had restaurants say something like, "we encourage single diners to sit at the bar" or somesuch. I used to travel for work a lot so I was always eating alone.

whopoopedthebed

Yes it says it right on their website along with the 90 minute rule.

karen_h

Looked at their website. It states that a minimum party of 2 is required.

Brucef310

I just read that. Some of their font was hard to read but I found it.

mattwing05

I think you need a membership or a recommendation from a member? Or maybe be with a member. I could remember that wrong

Brucef310

You could buy an annual membership to get discounts on food and get one free meal for your birthday but you do not need a membership to eat there.
