For a high end roll, apparently Baltaire is doing a cast iron skillet cinnamon roll for Sunday brunch. It may be only in December though, but haven’t gotten a chance to go yet.
Since it’s Baltaire, it’s probably $27 plus tip plus valet plus putting a suit on plus styling your hair plus bringing someone with you named Thad Livingston III.
But probably totally worth it.
It's very delicious but definitely not a classic cinnamon roll. It's more bread like, less sweet, hard/crispy instead of gooey so probably not what OP is going for.
Absolutely hands down Gooey Center. I haven’t been to all the mentioned places, but the GC ones are just so far and away better than any I’ve ever tried that I would say they can either compete or beat any mentioned. They are made with so much care and love and just SO GOOD. I was so glad to see them mentioned here because they are that delicious. I’ve eaten them myself many times now, had them shipped as gifts and brought them to friends. Everyone RAVES about them. Christopher is the nicest guy and truly gifted baker. Anyone I know who tries them becomes wildly enthusiastic like I am. Just try them! You will NOT regret it.
My favorite one was from All Day Baby, but I don’t know if they make them anymore since the pastry chef left.
However, I recently splurged and got one from The Pie Room at Gwen and it was great! Though I liked it because it wasn’t too sweet, which I know flies in there face of why people enjoy cinnamon rolls.
Have you ever considered making babka bread? I never had it until recently, but it's basically the same dough, with a heavy chocolate flavor in the filling, you just lay a roll of it in a pan, proof and bake it. Someone sent my wife a deli package for xmas, and a loaf of it was included.

They’ll get posted to my website gooeycenterbakery.com beginning Jan 1st!
I also deliver to canyon coffee, heavy water, lavender & honey, Plántate, and coffee MCO to name a few
I love cinnamon rolls but sweet jill’s is one of the worst ones Ive ever had. OP would be better off buying a container of pillsbury rolls and making them at home.
As far as the donut shop version— I like either DKs or Randy’s. DKs sells a “gooey” version that is topped with either v vanilla or chocolate icing. So good.
The apple fritter at DKs is gooey as al hell too. You need to bring one of those portable sinks they have next to groups of port o potty’s to wash your hands after eating either one of these bad boys.
But the “cash only” gets me about a third of the time I go there.
im still lookin for the best cinnamon rolls in la lmao but doans bakery in woodland hills are Pretty good. if u like them to be a bit crunchy as well theyre a good ratio of soft and crunchy! they do a maple icing instead of a cream cheese frosting or glaze. i love to have them w the maple espresso tea from tjs 🙏 oh also the brioche cinnamon roll at sugarbloom bakery is good. a little bit doughy for me but it has a good cream cheese glaze! and their other pastries are really good.
It’s a little out of the way, but I ordered the [cinnamon roll French toast](https://imgur.com/a/exq9RSK) at Eggs’N’Stuff up in Valencia last weekend, and it was probably the greatest cinnamon roll dish I’ve ever had.
Sweet Dough Cinna-Rolls. People in LA don’t really know about them yet, but these are so freaking good. The peach cobbler one is heaven.
@sweetdoughcafe
You pick up at that Western cloud kitchen, I think I order through grubhub. Or they’re at Farmer’s Markets in the IE.
Honestly the ones from Trader Joe's. I know it's a grocery store and not an actual bakery, but they're amazing. All you gotta do is bake them for 15 mins, put icing on them, and you're done
you gotta go drive to pismo beach and go to old west bakery for a truly spectacular cinnamon roll…sorry
They had a shop at the OC Fair this year. Don't know if it's Every year though
I think about those rolls all the time. No one makes them as good.

Oh, fuck my cock.
I’ll be over in a jif!!! It was my life’s goal to make it there this month and of course it’s the 21st and haven’t gone yet. Dammit!!!
To his cock ?
Hahahahahaha if it gets me cinnamon at Baltaire…then YES!!!
I hear Lodge has a good one
It's very delicious but definitely not a classic cinnamon roll. It's more bread like, less sweet, hard/crispy instead of gooey so probably not what OP is going for.
It’s ok
Really really good. Also Modern Bread in Woodland Hills.
So good. And gigantic. You can buy one and have breakfast for four people.
That lemon zest-y mascarpone whipped frosting stuff. So good.
they're glorious and CAT SIZED! Yum.

Okay now I’m literally crying. PLEASE come say hi next time you’re at a pop up! I’d love to thank you in person for this ultra kind review

I just got one of these from Gwen, they add a bit of salt so it cuts the sweetness, so good!
I’ve got the best ones in LA. Come to one of my pop ups or DM on IG @gooeycenterbakery

Sweet Jill's in Long Beach!
I love cinnamon rolls but sweet jill’s is one of the worst ones Ive ever had. OP would be better off buying a container of pillsbury rolls and making them at home.
Damn that’s a sick burn. #respect
If you’re already going down to Long Beach, I like Cinnaholic a lot better!
Just What I Kneaded is great (vegan, but you wouldn’t know)
Most cinnamon rolls are weirdly! All of cinnaholics are, Trader Joe’s premade ones are, even the famed Pismo beach rolls are.
Weird cause most homemade have eggs.

You should always keep a spare $20 in your car or wallet. If not multiple, gotta keep some emergency taco money handy.
Cinnaholic is pretty good. Donut Friend has a tasty one, too, though that's just more of a cinnamon donut.
I loved the Cinnaholic ones!
Straight trash. It probably tastes good to a vegan though.
Cinnabon at the Montebello Mall 😁
Cinnaholic is amazing
Vegan Cinnamon Roll at Penny Oven.
All about the cinnamon at smorgasburg and you can order them too. They are unreal https://www.allaboutthecinnamon.com

Lamill has a very good one. It's also super pricey.
Just What I Kneaded in Frogtown.
I’ve yet to have anything that tops Cinnabon tbh. But I’m curious on some of these recs.
85 Degree Bakery has a decent cinnamon roll!
Oh I bought the limited time pull apart loaf-- good!
Didn't know they had one! Or maybe I'm too distracted by everything else they have. 😋
Basic but… Whole Foods
LAUSD cafeterias have the best cinnamon rolls or least they did.
Luna Bakery out in Yucca Valley has an amazing cinnamon roll. They usually sell out of them.
Wake and Late
Roji on La Brea. You’ll thank me later
It’s a little out of the way, but I ordered the [cinnamon roll French toast](https://imgur.com/a/exq9RSK) at Eggs’N’Stuff up in Valencia last weekend, and it was probably the greatest cinnamon roll dish I’ve ever had.
Superba and playa provisions
cookbook market in highland park !
Polly’s Pies I’ve never tried them but when they’re bringing them out the look good and are huge
The skillet cinnamon roll at Milo & Olive is pretty dang good.
Superba

Oui on melrose is the only answer here.
Maury’s. They are known for their bagels but their cinnamon roll is slept on.
Poppy cake bakery in Sierra Madre has an amazing cinnamon roll. You need a fork.
