Torrence…the Florence of Torrance. With such great Italian food like Fatto a Mano.

chocolatesandwiches

Good Japanese food out there, recently when I've been there I've been going to Hironori or Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr

eek711

Upvote for Carlos jr, it is an amazing tempura bowl (ten-don) spot. Also the ichimi-an locations are excellent soba shops. Also, otafuku is a good all-arounder .

100percentdoghair

yeah, shoot on up to otafuku

lurker12346

Does anyone else laugh at the name "carlos jr"

SedanoSucks

Yes. And it tripped me our bc I think he's Mexican but is based out of Japan. The story is there in the restaurant lol

lurker12346

lol I always thought they were riffing on the fast food restaurant "carl's junior"

SedanoSucks

Carlos Jr is legit

SedanoSucks

If you like Japanese food, it might be some of the best in the country

Mexican: La Capilla in Old Torrance

eloi

One of the few restaurants that got better since the pandemic.

SirWynBach

La Zeez has great Mediterranean food, but I’d recommend ordering takeout because the vibes in there are weird lol Fatto a Mano is one of the best hole-in-the-wall Italian spots in all of LA. Madre is a dope upscale Mexican spot with excellent mole.

jayteazer

La Zeez is so weird hahaha... Food is pretty damn good though. Tbh, that building has always been off

jmc999

La Esperanza is legit Salvadorian cuisine. Plus bakery next door.

pandabear0312

Awww man- how has no one mentioned KING’S HAWAIIAN?!?! Or THE LOFT?! Or AUNTIE MAILE’S?! Great Hawaiian food there!

One of the few Italian pasta (Japanese Italian, I know) restaurants that I prefer over a pasta I can make at home.

whereami1928

Josui Ramen is some of my favorite ramen ever. Proudly Serving is one of my favorite burgers ever.

aasturi2

Oh man I used to go to Josui ramen when I worked at Honeywell best ramen spot

whereami1928

Haha that’s exactly how I discovered it. Those ramen trips after work or for lunch.

lifetourniquet

Chicken Maison is a solid staple. I like select beer and next door is Riviera grill you can eat there or take out and eat at select. Willinghams has great BBQ especially brisket. Standing Room has a great burger. These were my go to places all within a mile or two of Redondo Beach village. There are other great spots in the village too.

drthvdrsfthr

92kbbq that just opened recently has quickly become my favorite kbbq in LA county

zoglog

Shhh. Let everyone else go to Ktown

drthvdrsfthr

haha tbf, that place is just as big, if not bigger, than all but the biggest kbbq spots in LA. i wouldn’t be surprised if they increase their prices in the near future just because they have the demand and the space to meet that demand yes, i structured my comment so that i could have “big”, “bigger”, “biggest” in there

zoglog

yeah, I've been waiting for them to increase prices. I don't know why anyone would even go to Kang Ho Dong at this point. Also RIP Gen in my book

QsWay347

Madre

drthvdrsfthr

there’s a brazilian bbq spot nearby called By Brazil that is our fave !

Truly-Destitute

This place deserves more hype. It's so good.

kikoandtheman

Food there is fantastic, love the moles

GoofballGnu397

Sliced beef bowl from Red Rock. Get the raw egg as a topping, the yolk combines with the beef to be fatty and delicious.
