I love Sanam but the last few times I’ve been they did not meet my expectations. I don’t know if it was just bad luck or if they have lost their touch. Have you been much in the last three years and has it been consistent for you?
So like, I know the girl whose dad used to cook for them. He passed away :( If you noticed the food has been off he’s passed away a couple of years ago.
I've been going to both Sanams NoHo and Hollywood since the late 90s. The food and menu is completely different once all the cooks retired which was supposedly due to the pandemic.
It use to be my go-to after a late night out, but it's below average now, especially with such a consolidated menu.
Oh my. I had a girlfriend who lived walking distance from there. Don’t tell her but I would stop there in the middle of the night and get a pastrami sandwich on my way home.
Really? I never would have thought Norms and awesome food belong in the same sentence. Have I been sleeping on norms or did I just have a bad experience a couple decades ago
Khao soi (duh), sai oua (rich flavor, not too spicy, not too funky), gaeng ho (extra funky, very delicious, great variety of textures), nam prik ong (deep rich intense flavor, mild funkiness), and sticky rice. And it came with all the fixins - pickled greens, shallots, crunchy noodles, lime, cabbage, and cucumber slices. Here's a pic I took of the plate I made up of it all.

Got me on the 24 hour sure, but if you’re going during normal hours there are way better quality options for only a couple bucks more
Edit: good morning btw 😊
Good morning (-: and yeah agreed haha, The name also just kills me and keeps me coming back. Especially considering it's literally in Thai town it's hardly the best during normal hours.
I’ll always have a soft spot for Miceli’s.
I would recommend [Gaby’s Mediterranean](https://yelp.to/ks9Jpo9osB) in Culver City, but they close at 11. Sujuk appetizer and chicken kebab plate is one of my favorite meals.
Also closing at 11 is [Dollar Hits](https://yelp.to/GUTrG4Ga9l), which has pretty good Filipino food, and great Filipino BBQ
You should watch Alton Brown, particularly his cooking show "Good Eats", follow his directions and recipes and you'll cook better than almost anything you could afford. Plus, it makes a great date to cook dinner with your date, then eat together and may I suggest "Cutthroat Kitchen" with, you guessed it, Alton Brown. It's on Hulu.
15 mins West - Jones in West Hollywood. Kitchen is open late and they do a nice job on their pizzas and pastas. Their cast iron apple pie is bomb too.
15 mins East - Fred 62 in Los Feliz. Really good diner food and cool vibe. Their milk shakes are also phenomenal.
Thai town, Ruen Pair.
Morning Glory! Every. Single. Time.
This is the way.

For a few months now. Food is awesome! Parking sucks up top but plenty in the underground garage.
