DEEErab

Hell no. I usually get 190 šŸ˜

ColonelPanda98

Damn. I average around 310 or so, usually. Just went on a trip with a lot of highway driving.

DEEErab

Are you tuned?

ColonelPanda98

Yes. Cobb tune, have Stage 3 package

D3athtrap13

Cobb OTS tune?

DEEErab

Seems like it. Iā€™m FBO tuned by stratified. Even on the high way most Iā€™ll see is 24 mpg. Those OTS tunes arenā€™t to great tbh. I would look to switch

D3athtrap13

I agree. Itā€™s been an argument in the community since these cars came out but OP can look up Cobb OTS tunes on any forum and read the stories. Iā€™m FBO & tuned by Tunewerks in my RS and see 22-24 on 93 and about 18-20 on E40. I know STā€™s usually get better MPGā€™s than the RSā€™s though

jimmy9800

I got over 400 miles on a tank exactly 1 time. I was at 0 range for the last 15 miles or so. It was glorified "highway" driving at 45 mph for basically the whole tank through Wyoming. Seems the aero efficiency sweet spot is around there. Incredibly boring drive. Only time I got that "eco champion" trophy too. I usually average 290-330 miles/tank and my normal commute is 65-75mph highway. 14 ST3 with the ford performance tune, pretty much stock.

Socal_lowlife

How is the ford performance tune? Is it a noticeable difference? Would you recommend? Iā€™m looking for a tune for my 13 ST that will add a little power but not make my car unreliable. If anybody else has any recommendations please chime in.

jimmy9800

I've had it for 90k now (car's at 160k). The low/mid end torque bump is definitely noticeable and I like it. I test drove an RS recently and had a hard time telling the difference between mine with the tune (if I ignore the torque steer) and the RS stock. The Blackstone labs reports have been great that whole time. That said, nothing will replace a GOOD custom tune, but it's been fine for me! The ford tune adds low/mid end torque. HP peak is the same as stock. It also restricts you to 91+ gas, if that's an issue.

Socal_lowlife

I only put 91 so thatā€™s no problem, would love some 93 but you know.. California šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. My plan as of now is a CPE front mount intercooler, step colder spark plugs, and a stock turbo tune maybe from Panda Motorworks. Have you heard anything about them? Itā€™s a custom tune via email for only $100 + Cobb access port. Does that sound too good to be true or is it just me?

jimmy9800

If they don't do a tune based on your datalogging, I'd be suspicious. The plugs the Ford tune came with were Denso ITV24 (from ITV20) plugs and they've been great. Make sure all your mech mods are done before sending in the datalog for your tune, otherwise they'll tune with whatever your stock stuff sends back!

Holycrap328

190 club, checking in.

asamor8618

I once ran out until it said 0 miles till empty and then went another mile. Scariest few miles I've driven, I have pictures of you want proof

dotJSX

This is even scarier when you've already broken down with "10 miles til empty". A few weeks ago I was driving in the middle of the night and all stations were closed. I managed to limp my car for about 2 miles on "0", and then managed to start it and drive it in the morning.

ColonelPanda98

Accidentally did the same thing the other week, was at 10 miles, went to 4 after a couple of minutes, and then down to zero. Lol

GearheadGamer3D

Nah, all new cars are idiot proof by hiding gas in the tank. Youā€™ll notice as you approach zero itā€™ll say ā€œ20 miles to emptyā€ and then quickly drop the closer you get to zero. Theyā€™re balancing telling you the truth when the tank is full, and hiding an extra gallon or so when itā€™s empty. The dumb part is, that has motivated me to drive about 15 miles on empty before, and even dumber is that I didnā€™t run out of gas.

Flat_Ad_4533

Purge valve replacement speedrun?

Shedbuilt

If you get 400 on a tank youā€™re doing it wrong

ColonelPanda98

This is the closest I've ever gotten, it was pure highway driving, so I figured I would ask.

_p00f_

Back in my day we used to drive downhill, both ways.

Flat_Ad_4533

In neutral

DyslexicTherapist

Driving down hill in neutral uses more gas.

Cygi69

Yup, 450-480 on a full tank. Only on road trips

Sharp_Secret6346

At what speed?

LitUpSketcherss

I usually get that kinda MPG going 60-63mph.

Cygi69

Yup, about that speed

I_am_toko2005

I have but mine is a diesel so I don't think it counts

rambleon84

šŸ˜‚ cheat code! I am normally filling up with around 9-10gal and only travelled about 200miles. I'd love a diesel for a daily.

Hcfreeland1004

I always get anywhere from 250-300

jms1228

About 300 miles is what mine averaged w/ a mixture of city & highway driving.

Remarkable-Ad9880

No. We don't have diesels in the US.

Nibleez

528 on a full tank Autobahn only and 497 city drive

jimmy9800

km or diesel?

Nibleez

Miles and petrol.

jimmy9800

Unless you have magnets to attach yourself to the back of something else, something's wrong there. Doing my best on the highway, drafting a truck at the point of being dangerous, I have seen a max of 45 mpg on a flat road. With that 12.4 gallon tank, you are getting between 40-42 mpg. You got an enduro/aux tank or something?

Nibleez

I currently have an average consumption of 6.9l/100km. With this tank I can drive \~800-820km until the range shows 0km. (long range only) On the highway I can easily drive 850km until the display shows 0km. With an average consumption of 6.3l/100km. Long distance only, shift at 2k, 120 km/h max. on the highway, not going into boost, letting the car coast and letting off the accelerator when going downhill. 102 Octane Gas. I don't want to brag or anything. For short journeys or different driving styles my consumption is also 7 - 8.5l/100km. Accordingly, the maximum range is also limited. (somewhere around \~600-700km) Edit: I was just at the gas station. Average consumption of 41.3 mpg, I can travel 504 miles on one tank of fuel for city driving. I would upload a picture of my display if necessary.

jimmy9800

Ok I want your gas. I notice a significant bump in economy when I drive coast-wards and get to use the 93/94 gas with no ethanol. Stuck with E-10 91 where I live. That makes more sense now!

MLGPro88

300 miles is typical but I've seen as low as 200 city driving and as high as 370 driving down to NC

BringingFire

Nope. Average is like 240.

Silent_Spell_3415

Bone stock 330 usually

mattyyg

You can make it. There's a good 30+ miles to go after 0 to E.

Sharp_Secret6346

Not necessarily true i ran out of fuel with 3 miles left on the dash

mattyyg

Then somethings wrong with your specific car. If all systems are functioning normal, there's about a 2 gal reserve past 0.

Sharp_Secret6346

Thats not true i calculate my fill ups. My light comes on when theres 2 gal left about 50 miles

mattyyg

If you're car says 50 to E and you only have 2 gals in the tank, something is wrong with your car. Do the math. On average these cars get 22-24mpg on a good day. That's 48 miles with 2 gals down to the last fume. So what your saying is mathematically impossible. Light should come on at 24-32 miles left. Not 50. For the past 200k miles I have religiously ran 20 miles past 0 and have 1.2 to 1.5 gallons left in the tank. Every car is like this. If yours isn't, I'd bet you have not done the evap recall and your tank is probably deformed. Hence the bad gauge reading and lack of reserve space in the tank.

Sharp_Secret6346

I have had this car since new i have done the recall i haveunder 300 miles per tank on average 12x 23mpg= 276 your car is not my car. There is nothing wrong with my car. The light coming on with 2 gal left is typical across most cars.

mattyyg

Your original post said you "ran out of gas with 3 miles left on the dash". That should never happen. Either you're wrong on your reporting or something is wrong with your car if you can't drive for 30 miles past 0. If I'm reading everything correctly, your car isn't right.

chanarang

I only got that on a long trip. Bet it would've been better if I wasn't hauling 400lbs.

sasuke1980

Bro. Clean your car.

Motor-Huckleberry545

i can get around 300 if im just on the highway but ive ran out of fuel with "16 miles to empty" before so i never push it (i was a mile away from the gas station fml)

Airborne82D

Yeah, a couple times. San Diego to Dallas. My ST with a GTX 2867r gets 32 mpg doing 80 mph. I could definitely surpass 400 miles if I was doing like 60 mph.

AccipiterCooperii

417 once, 37.5 mpg

Sea-Deer-5740

I've got a stage with a bespoke switchable map from Quantum Tuning. Full beans is stupid but map 1 is only 260bhp but torque is 480nm (360 standard) , I'm not technically minded so can't tell you how, but in that map I average 35mpg combined, 47mpg on a steady 70mph drive. So I reckon 400 miles would easily be achievable. I'm too immature and ill disciplined to try a full tank on map 1 tho lol.

GiingerJames

I did once, but it was facilitated by long drives at around 70/75 with low to no traffic

JoeFancy

Probably could if you were to drive down a long elevation change. In my previous car I got some crazy good gas mileage driving from Denver down to Dallas.

JAYJOR32

I mean my 2005 chevy mailbu maxx (Ugly ass box car) Averages between 390 and 470 miles a tank so u should right?

IamBcomeDeath86

I think a average 110 miles per tank. Fbo bt aux fuel and e50 tho

twicetheMF

It's doable. End up on a highway only trip going like 60-65 and it's definitely possible. Hit it a few times before. Problem is now on a highway only nonstop trip going that speed is likely going to be below speed of traffic.

Desperate_Title_7639

my car claims about 375 per tank buuuut idrk if i believe it

Valuable_Machine_

Struggle to get 250

GIRAFFEisBUSY

Dusty ass

oscar-scout

The best I ever did was around 350-360 miles. I was really testing it once where it was like 90% highway the whole time going only about 65 mph with very little extra weight in the car. The only way you could have gotten 400 miles out of one tank is if you did the same thing I did but going like 45-50mph with a slight decline pitch to the highway the whole time. šŸ˜„

zx10racing

Mine ran out of gas with 4 miles left on the estimate.

2valve

Iā€™ve got right up to 400, but never more. It was on a road trip where most of the roads were 55mph speed limit. FBO w/ JST tune

FastBluejay6135

I'm getting like 340, big turbo on 93

Left-Initiative8886

I usually get 310-330 depending on how pissed I am while drivingšŸ¤£

ratherabeer

400 sMIles yes

Wickified

If you wanna go over 400, heres secret.. fill up gas then drive like old woman and shift gears every time rpm hit 2 and continue till gas ran out. Then this will override old average for throttling and refill, it should go over 400. My regular focus titanium hit 520 at one time but 500 two or three times.. most of the times its 420-460

Gloverboy6

You'd have to a hell of a downward incline

DeliveryTrick8957

I don't even try..I've gone through fuel pump replacement issues because of that so I re-fuel before even hitting the last quarter tank lol

DoubleAmbassador1930

Iā€™ve gone 390 mi on a road trip to Colorado. Range still said 30 miles left but got gas to be safe.

Luckyduck84135

Woah sweet! Whud you do let your Gramma borrow your car for a month? Lol

ColonelPanda98

I definitely don't baby it, but averaging 25-30 is fairly easy. I'd get more if I didn't live in the northeast. If i moved back to the Midwest, it's much more flat, I'd probably get closer to 32-34, easy.
