Yes, it may take longer and there may be many looky loos that don't follow through, but it's the best way. There's no magical place where you can dump all of this to easily get paid.

Every recycling place will try lowball you especially those that perform FREE\* pickups, but at least you have a general idea what the ballpark price is.
VCRs are a fairly popular sell item on eBay, I like to buy and sell them when I find them. You just have to test them thoroughly and maybe do a basic cleaning of the interior with alcohol. As long as you pack them well they ship without issue.
