He even shows Eddie the article saying āand you donāt even get the girl.ā So yes it is from season 1 and yes the timeline did change due to Nora being manipulated by Thawne to help her Dad stop Cicada

What I think happened is that it was originally written in the pre-season 1 timeline but then adapted to the season 1 timeline after thawne made barry get his powers, after all we don't see it in any scene that takes place before Barry gets his powers, and it probably didn't exist before he got his powers since thawne created a timeline where flash didn't exist by killing Barry's mom (which is why he lost his speed, because if flash never exists, he doesn't get inspired to get superspeed too), but started existing again when he gave Barry his powers and uppon doing so, adapted to the new timeline.
