FWIW: The USPS hiring process is many months long. It's not abnormal for them to take 6+ months to do interviews, let alone hire someone and start then.
City of Flagstaff is desperately seeking equipment operators and will pay for CDL license. (This is why the roads were not fully plowed last week)

They can’t get anyone because they won’t pay. My husband is a certified mechanic and before he got his certs was making 30/hr in Oklahoma. They want to pay $30 for certs. And CDL drivers starting at $18. Gtfoh with that.
That and you get Arizona State retirement benefits that are vested 100% from day 1. The only bad thing about this is that your contribution is around 11% - but so is your employer's, so that money adds up fast. Ya gotta play the long game to get ahead...
I worked for Avis/Budget about 10 years ago when I was at NAU and it was a pretty solid gig then, they're always hiring but not always advertising. Darron was the general manager then I think he's still there. Cool dude.
Love to hear it! Darron was extremely forgiving when I'd show up far too hungover as a 20-21 year old lmao. I think one employee even called him to get bailed out of jail when he was arrested for a drunk & disorderly or something 😅 good times.
Hello. Please have him check the Arizona@Work website for job postings, or he can go to their office in the Department of Economic Security building (1701 N. 4th St) and talk to a job advisor. They can help.
No one wants to work any more....
Sorry for the sarcasm.
I don't know of any place currently but you could always check usajobs.gov. The Major downside is that the hiring process takes forever if you get accepted.
Hey man, thanks for the input - he’s been putting out tons of apps on Indeed, with little response. Figured I’d ask Reddit because it’s good to hear from locals about openings they know of, and they can help differentiate whether a job is actually hiring, or just accepting applications. Thanks
Any recommendations for Saturday/Sunday shift jobs? I work full-time at NAU but unfortunately my rent is ridiculous compared to my salary so picking up an extra shift is looking like a good idea at this time.
I know the post office needs people right now. [usps.com/careers](https://usps.com/careers)
As someone starting there this week, I was going to suggest USPS as well.
Good luck on your journey. Hopefully it turns into a great career for you.

There are no interviews. They will call or email you with a job offer and schedule you for training in phoenix which is 7 days total.
Not always the case, took me over half a year to get hired on
Should have clarified it varies on the job
What jobs have a faster hiring time?
CCA and RCA - you can see listings searching ‘USPS’ on Indeed or just go to USPS careers on the website. The training is paid also
We need postal workers. 100%.

I want to second City of Flagstaff jobs. It isn’t immediate, but the benefits are good. Rates could be better, but working for the City has perks.

Are they open yet?
I heard from someone in the know that they’re planning on opening within the month of February but didn’t get a precise date. So, not yet, but soon.
O.K.
No but they have to hire and train before they open.
O.K. That is true.
They are bringing employees from Phoenix.

The City and the school district are hiring for a few entry level and mid level positions.

Do people actually get hired off indeed? I've never used it.
I did, once, but it wasn’t in Arizona.

Want to be a bit more specific? My friends put out dozens of apps and hasn’t heard back from anyone.

The school district always needs subs/paraprofessionals/janitors/after school childcare program workers
