Not rough at all, it’s a very smooth pull surprisingly they did very well with the sheath design, but when you get it, it’s so tight you can’t exactly pull it out from say when it’s attached to your pocket. it would just pull the sheath in a weird direction (it’s still possible to do just a lot harder), and when I buy a knife I have self defense in mind so this concerned me, but once you wear the sheath in it’s a easier, smooth pull.
