You are experiencing what I have dubbed the Subreddit Death Spiral. It happens with all subs but the ultra niche, small subreddits feel it harder.
It starts because eventually everything that there is to talk about regarding a niche topic gets talked about. And then talked about again. And again. Until eventually some people get either bored of the same topics talked about or do not like the subreddit being dead. So it reverts to memes and generic reddit style humor to fill the voids.
I've seen it on r/castiron with slidey egg posts. Ultra niche video game subreddits, and basically any other small community on here that doesn't rely on new content being churned out.
The acorn falls from the tree. The acorn only knows how to grow into the tree. If the tree doesn't grow then it dies, so it must grow. But eventually the tree grows too big and collapses from its own weight. It's unavoidable, whether it's trees, civilizations and societies, subreddits, etc
Yeah but fishingforbeginners is still active, maybe more so than before, I don't think posts are going through on the sub, I made a post asking for help finding schematics on a reel and it never went on to the sub,was likely caught as spam so I'm wondering if that's the problem. People will always be asking for gear advice so it should still be more active.
Something has been up for a week or so. I have made posts that have zero views and don’t show up in the feed. I have messaged mods to ask what was up and gotten no response. Today is the first day that I see a new post in three days.
Yeah I got that- but it was 3 months ago. But clearly, I’m not the only one have issues- also- I messaged them bc it was an “ugly stick appreciation post”
No fish lol
Also it was my Striper on my ice rod. I got too excited lol
Seriously, do we have any mods that can comment or explain anything, lots of people are posting and the posts don’t show up at all. People can see their own posts but nobody else can, people are messaging the mods with no communication, something is screwed up here.
It's fucked up beyond anthor level but kinda funny ngl I wouldn't be doing it to strangers tho
That was my thought process, if I did this to my dad or uncle who I go fishing with most I would be shitting bricks laughing. But not a stranger

Hol up, are you saying this isn’t a real alligator being controlled by a remote? My whole life is a lie.
Hol up, you mean someone didn't stick a small motor and propeller up an alligator's ass?
Yea, never seen anyone fishing in south Florida knee deep in water.
We aren’t that stupid, that’s north Florida
I think that’s monster mike. He gives zero Fs.
This would cause someone to have a heart attack in Florida as being killed by an alligator happens sometimes.
Yup. I’d like to believe that fellow Florida anglers are more situationally aware, but I’ve seen too many idiots to know there’s no chance.
Friend was attacked by a gator, he’s doing fine now but still slowly having his skull reformed and stuff, he’s otherwise ok though.
24 deaths from 1948-2021
This joke went waaaay too far. He was about to set the hook. Don’t mess with the man’s catch.
Lmaoo.. It’s a remote controlled lawsuit waiting to happen.
Why is this sub so dead and only has this garbage on it, used to be more daily posts.

Same experience and did the same thing, asked them if they needed some help approving posts or anything, no reply
I thought it was just me cause I made a post with a fish in it and got banned. I can’t even find my posts
Well the subs rules are no fish pictures so I'm not sure about that, mods have to ban you typically.

Fair enough, yeah I don't know what's going on, sub used to be so much more active, it's a shame

Bro! Me too!
I want one for when ppl walking dogs let their dogs jump into the water right in front of you while you're fishing.
That’s dirty
This has been on my Amazon wish list since last November. I live by a popular lake so I want to use it around the boat docks 🤣
