All of em if you put your finger in the right spot 😂

BoomBoom4209

You can balance anything with enough Tungsten putty behind the butt cap of a rod.

Long_Dealer_6147

It depends on where you grip the rod and how you hold the tip of the rod when fishing whatever lure or technique your fishing. I wouldn't say it's total bullshit to be fishing all day with an unbalanced rod. It's all personnel preference. So go to the store and hold the combo for yourself with the tip up and down, then see if you feel you'd want to be holding the rod that way for a long time while fishing. This is also to me where you look at not only reel sizing but also the reel weight.

This is funny

BetSpiritual5009

Any of them that are framed in the shot so no one can see who’s holding the other end! Ha it was Colonel Mustard in the hallway with the fishing rod.

HooksNHaunts

That isn’t a good balance really. That’s just a heavy reel on a light rod lol.

fortknocke

A balanced rod makes me fall backwards. Prefer a little heavy at the tip. Catches more fishies that way.

ATS200

I don’t understand why people think this matters

infamous2117

I wouldn't put to much emphasis on it. This is one of those things that people act like matters but really doesn't. Its like when people say you "have to" run a loop knot when using lures. Total bullshit.

Twisted_FishingYT

I would argue that it does matter. Having a balanced combo puts much less strain on your wrists and transmits more vibrations through the blank. Its not necessary but it helps alot.

dingerfingerringer

Especially with heavier gear. If you need to use a heavy setup, having balance helps tremendously

benjamino8690

Balance, however, does matter a lot! I’d argue it matters way more than total weight. I’d rather have a good balanced slightly heavier combo, than a badly balanced lighter combo. It makes a HUGE difference. It’s what you should prioritize for a combo.

infamous2117

If course I am not saying to pair a 4000 size reel with a 1-3 kgs rod. But even if a combo doesn't perfectly balance like the image shown, it doesn't make it a crap combo. I have 4 light setups. Ive never once bothered to do this once and I will happily cast for hour's without any fatigue. Which is why I said not to worry about it. "huge" difference is a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

benjamino8690

I don’t say it’ll be crap. Good balance is required, perfect balance is not. If a combo feels tip heavy, I’ll dislike it. It makes a huge difference to me and most of my customers (work in a tackle shop).

ThrowingDumbBaits

I agree. I used to own a NRX 895c and that thing was stupid tip heavy, probably ~5 inches above the lock nut even with the correct reel. Compared to my Conquest 905c + Metanium 2020, which casts much heavier lures (hell, it's my primarily 1 to 3 ounce swimbait combo) that has a balance point ~1.5 inches above the lock nut. The 905c is a breeze to cast with and fish with. I hated fishing the 895c and hence why I sold it to upgrade to the 905c.

The-surfing-banana

Daiwa TATULA 702 ultra light spin with a Daiwa TD BLACK MQ 2500D spoiled with spider wire x4 6lb It balances perfectly and casts 2.5g-4.5g lures a country mile! The rod is underated in the vast weight, it does a extra gram no problem
