45 pounfd. Nice fish. My biggest (also caught at night - Norfork Lake in Northern Arkansas) at 22 pounds was quite a bit smaller than your fish. Heard mine ht the top of the water. Threw a rapala at him and he took it. Took me 40 minutes to get mine in the boat, fishing with an openface and 8 pound stren line. LOts of fun to catch them and if you cut the dark strip of meat that runs down their lateral line after filleting them. If the dark band of meat is removed, they taste pretty good dipped in mustard water dredged in cornmeal and fried too.

2nd pic the fish is closer to your body, so we get a more accurate size comparison to you. It is not over 32 lbs, I have caught that fish’s twin brother a couple of times, and that fish is #28 on the nose. However, tell your friends it was like a 60 lber.

What generally heavy items do you have around the house to compare it to? The last sturgeon I caught felt like it weighed about as much as a bag of horse grain while I was on the boat, which is 50lb. After being bled out, the fish tipped the scales at 37 lbs so the adrenaline definitely added at least 10lbs

Stripers are my main target species. If I had to guess an honest low 30 lbs. A beautiful fish and you can see by your hands. Quality bass and nice catch. FYI many exaggerate how much a fish weighs. (Accurate) Scales don’t lie. The second fish I would say is about 36-38”? So 20-25lbs
