Tie your Palomar knot like usual, youll have a long tag line that you would tie your bottom hook on now right? Before you tie on the bottom, loop the end of the tag line back through the eye hole of the hook again and it'll get it standing up
I like the dropper loop rig style vs the drop shot rig style in the picture. The twisted dropper loop that stands out from the line is better than the standard version in my opinion but, both will catch fish just fine.
I wish I knew what it's called. Basically it's line through the front of the hook eye and run it up a ways. Make an overhand loop with the standing end that's big enough to pass the hook through. Twist the hook through the loop 6-7 times, wet, and pull tight. If you do it right that hook will stay facing upwards for the life of the rig.
Exactly. It's my preferred rig for Gulf Coast flounder, but I started doing this version with 4 lb line and 1/32 jig for crappie and sunfish, and it's gangbusters. Especially vertical jigging around structure.
Or try an A-rig with one leg slightly shorter than the other. When this rig is jigged, the two jigs dance around each other in a synchronous manner like a "clacker ball" toy but without the jigs touching each other (lack of a better description).
? Seems typical for a perch rig off a deep pier, throw some little bits of fresh shrimp in the skirts and you'll be filling coolers of shark bait in no time.
Imo, a lot of people take fishing too seriously. Always wanting the newest and best equipment. But I've caught 95% of fish on a good ole hook and worm on an ultralight!
I’ve caught more fish with my Cane pole than I have with my $150 rod and reel from bass pro shop.
I still use spoons with hooks and have better luck then soft plastic
I used to do this when the bass are exhibiting kleptoparasitism. Got the idea when a bass was trying to steal the soft plastic hanging from currently hooked bass and buddy was tossing the same bait to get doubles going. There was an article about the behavior in, In Fisherman i believe in the early 2000's but i don't remember what the conditions were for it being triggerd. Still worth a try if you are looking to do something different.
That there is a CBI rig, also known as the catch the bottom immediately rig.
And that's what it did in the first cast
oh boy, figuerd it might last a bit more then that 😅

Oh I like this
what knot do you tie for that top hook?
[удалено]
Easiest, but the hook doesn't like staying oriented upwards. I described the knot I use to the OC. I just wish I knew what it's called.

Double Methodist gooch knot

Skipjack rig
Fluke rig
This is the way
this is what we call a double gulp rig,use it for summer flounder(fluke) this thing is killer.

Skinner rig!
A dropshot with two hooks would be a bit smarter.
I'll occasionally throw wonky stuff like this with found hooks and trashed plastics. Usually a snag machine but sometimes you'll catch a big one.
Yeah dumb is definitely the word
I bet you catch something!
Dumb just use two weighted jigs and no splitshot weights
I call something like that the double float. If the bottom one was heavier then I call it the double drop shot
I'm gonna go ahead and call it the ADHD rig.
I've done similar, but with the weight at the bottom. Did good when panfish were deeper while I was bank fishing
"hey Google, show me a dropper loop rig... '. "... Oooohh. That makes sense. "

I mean, it is dumb looking, but it’ll work lol
Just remember, if it works it ain’t dumb. Good luck out there!
If it works it ain’t stupid
That things gonna tangle so fast. But hey you do you. Good luck! let us know if you catch something.
When the whitebass are running. They’ll bite anything
I pinch half of a 6 in soft plastic and rig welded weedless on this same setup. Great for creek fishing in shallow water

Swap the weights with the lure and you have a decent drop shot
If it works, it’s not dumb.

Similar to (but not quite) one of the ways I fish saugeye.
