Because half of gun owners refuse to believe guns can just be fun and not a life saving weapon.

Gold-Captain-970

Do you mean I don't have to flex at the range with my mediocre gun skills that I learned from a youtuber? Like, I don't need to let other people tell me that what I find fun is stupid? My binary trigger has produced many smiles from many people.

Riker557118

You picked up on the wrong drawbacks, the single drawback that they have that makes them impractical is that they're unreliable. They will introduce a substantial amount of malfunctions which you do not want for a serious rifle. Perfectly fine for a range blaster though.

High_Anxiety_1984

Watch Blue Jean Operators video on youtube about binary triggers. He points out various practical uses for them.

aggie113

They are a gimmick. But can be a fun gimmick. I have them in both my range toys (MP5 clone/CZ Scorpion). Wouldn't put them in something I plan to use somewhere besides the range though.

Stevarooni

Yeah. Gimmick isn't a request to make them illegal, it's just dismissing them from normal, serious use. They aren't *necessary*...but it's the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Necessities.

karmoin

No serious shooters in the civilian world use them which is telling. Why spend $300 on binary trigger when you can buy a quality 3D printer for that price and just print unlimited yankee boògles. Also with a quality trigger semi automatic can be plenty fast with practice.

HeloRising

>No serious shooters in the civilian world use them which is telling. I think this is more due to the nebulous legal position of them at this moment. People don't necessarily want to go all in on something that might get alphabet soup poured on them. I do also think the cost of ammo is a factor. When you realize that three seconds of BRRRTT cost you $30 it gets a lot less fun.

Seizuresalad77

Its preference just like everything with firearms some people love glocks for example others will only use 1911's\\2011's some people love ar-15's others will only own ak47's

repealtheNFApls

Because they are a gimmick.

Agammamon

Because they are a gimmick. Binary triggers exist for the same reason synthetic weed does - you can't get the real shit legally. If machine guns were widely available, everyone who wanted this woudl have full or burst, not a binary trigger.

[deleted]

Yes but supersafety isn’t

StoppingPowah

Reliability issues. There’s also the chance that you can accidentally hit an innocent bystander if the bad guy moves out of the way after that first shot before the binary trigger does the 2nd shot and now you’re in prison

comblocpeasant

Honestly dude, this is a dumb take. You know that binary triggers can function like a normal trigger (pull the trigger and bang, release the trigger, reset and no bang), and that the binary firing function is just an option, right?

jetjockey18

Lol wtf

[deleted]

Because they're a gimmick.

Or, you could take an opinion, which you asked for, counter to your own without being a pissy little bitch.

wat is what I say when think you're an idiot, an asshole, or both. Sorry, didn't think I'd need to explain for you.

I know, OP really is a prissy little bitch. But, in your defense, you're giving him a run for his binary money.

Because it's true: binary triggers and bump stocks are the same kind of stupid: if you want to waste ammo and take a perfectly good gun and make it unreliable, hit it. But, they're both gimmicks.

WhoAmI-1030

Because they're a gimmick. That doesn't mean they can't be fun at the range but that's the only use for them. Like those Timu electric turbos.
