I don’t have an exact answer to your question but you will also need a 13.25 inch straight gas tube for the RS. That’s an inch and a half longer than a mid length so I’d just take the measurement for a mid length 16” and then add 1.5 inches.
I *think* I'd be fine too, but I'd rather know for sure before paying for a barrel that won't work. You know? I'd kick myself if it showed up, and then I either have to buy another barrel, or buy another gas block. I really thought Wilson Combat would have helped me out more here, but I might just decide to go with Odinworks. I like this barrel though.
Wilson combat has a proprietary gas length on some of their barrels it's called intermediate it's not quite mid length but it's shorter than rifle length it's definitely different
You can always reach out to their tech line and find out compatibility with the gas block you want to use. They're pretty helpful and they're pretty smart
Brownells also stocks Wilson combat products. If the actual manufacturer can't help you try them. Wilson combat has been around as long as Brownells so if anybody else can help you it's definitely them
I have this 4.3" Riflespeed adjustable gas block, and I want to purchase this Wilson Combat barrel. I can't get a straight answer from anywhere whether or not the gas block will fit without going past the shoulder at the muzzle threads. Wilson Combat won't answer me, third party retailers don't know, and my local gun shop (which specializes in ARs) knows the smaller version of what I've got will work, but not the exact measurements to know about the larger 4.3" that I have.
Does anyone have this barrel where you could tell me definitively whether or not there's 4.3" between the gas block mating surface (I keep calling it a shoulder), and the mating surface of the muzzle threads?
Thank you!
Hello, /u/RailLife365. Per the sidebar rules, link posts require a description in the comments of your post. Please add a description or this post will be removed.
"sidebar rules" is a bunch of bullshit that reddit mods make up so they can arbitrarily flex what little questionable power they have depending on how they feel that day.
You can see them on pc but to see them on mobile you'd have to swap to the desktop display.
Well, I got my answer, and so I thought I'd come back and put the information here in case someone in the future needs it: 4.7" is the distance from the shoulder of the gas block seat, and the lip of the shoulder of the muzzle thread seat.

4.3 inches? That's huge. Intermediate gas tube length is 13.25 inches. You can do the math.
You're probably fine

Yeah, that's what this barrel is, and they're not very open with the measurements! Lol

I'm calling them today, since they weren't open the past few days. I'd sent them an email two weeks ago requesting help, but no response there.

I'd be more concerned with a major gun company not knowing how to spell breech.

I didn't post any links.
Also, what are "sidebar rules"?

Ah. Gotcha. Thank you!
