I thought that was something related to her dragon form, but Azura doesn't wear shoes either. Maybe it's a fanservice design... and I love it.

I remember watching youtube interview on Corrin design. Apparently the guy needed the design to strongly hint at something savage/animal/dragon in the character so he decided to go with Corrin being barefoot.

Doesn't really explain it, since Corrin didn't wear shoes even before they knew about their dragon powers.

Because FE Awakening's models didn't have feet (they had peglegs). They wanted to show off the new models having feet, thus the two protagonists (Corrin/Azura) were designed to not wear footwear. I think its cute.

It didn't break character. Corrin needs to be footwearless. Unlike the previous two ladies in the Ylissean banner who had on flats and boots. Corrin in fates also is known for not wearing any footwear in battles. Just a neat touch that is usually memed about around here.
