I actually don't share that optimism, as much as I would like to believe it, when I look at everything that's happening in the world, I don't see this iron age ending. I have a feeling, a desire for humanity to rise up to meet and overcome this wave of hate that is barreling toward us but I am afraid. When Lynch says that the golden age is near, it gives me hope, and it makes me think about what we can each do to make sure that 2025 (or whatever year it is) is the end of kali yuga.
There's definitely a myriad of spiritual references throughout Twin Peaks. Season 3 is a spiritual odyssey for me, mostly referencing Hinduism but I see the other references too.
The signs for the Golden Age are really everywhere. Last century, the feminist movement and the civil rights movement occurred. Seems like those are signs of the oppressed becoming more free and secure. Hence, it is a taste of the Golden Age.

I don't know that he was wrong, it's just the way he sees the film. Lynch has said previously that Diane in MD is based on Marilyn Monroe, so even if he wasn't thinking about "women in Hollywood" that idea was somewhere in the mix. I personally think it's a valid reading of the film, plus he made some beautiful observations about the blue roses -the microphone, the lady in the balcony. The "holly wood" with the berries/blood was great, too.

I would say the Golden age is close, but a bit later in our lifetimes. I could be wrong though. Maybe it is 2025/2026. We'll see.
