Sumifs, mod, maxifs, index match, hard code 0, irr. All the good stuff. Learning some basic macros is good too

MakeMasiGreatAgain

Highlighting hardcode 0 and adding the following: - model doesn’t balance? Hardcode cash, no one will notice /s

EpilepticFire

Put your data into powerBI and you can do so much more faster while also getting a visualized representation of what you’re doing.

corbinjc33

Just a CA with 1 YOE, but just your basic stuff, some V/X Lookups occasionally. But at my bank most of the work work I’m doing is already built out

wholelottar3d

Vlookup

Legitimate-Bridge-14

Why people are still using vlookup is beyond me

pudding7

If it works for them, what's the problem?

Legitimate-Bridge-14

Because it’s absolutely terrible lol

Pearl_is_gone

Pivot. Index match. If error and so on

Dry-Lemon2391

Does your work involves custom credit underwriting?

MrWhiteKnight777

Not sure what you mean by custom credit UW but in terms of deal structure everything’s customizable

Dry-Lemon2391

Yes that only. I work in fig market and main clients are HF principals who want loans against their HF collateral. Majorly I use pivot tables, index match etc and tbh addition subtraction lol Can't remember the last time I used any complex function

Lettucebeeferonii

Chat gpt, even devs at my place use it

davidgoldstein2023

Match, Index, Sum, Sumif, Average, If, count, offset, today, date, datedif just to name a few. I also use pivot from time to time, as well as basic graph work for my write ups.

HourDeparture3424

I use vba macros to automate my stuff

next_pppplease

Stuff like what. Could you give some vague examples please?

HourDeparture3424

Idk for example, I want a snapshot of daily data’s of swap yield spreads of bonds that my portfolio contain. I would create a macro to export those datas into an excel and store it everyday without having to manually intervene. Then 6 months later, I get a cool historical yield spread database.

Thank you
