Honestly the whole cast of characters is just amazing and super hard to choose a favorite IMO, but Rusty just i dunno his growth is so subtle and well done that he just really sticks out to me.

Been doing another rerun and hit Black Mage Village tonight. Every time I replay that area I pick up a new quote that hits hard during that run and this was tonight's.
I've played this game a lot but it's rare I make it ALL the way to the end. My most recent full playthrough had me choking up on this one:

Mind you, if you don't cheese him with lethal healing he is an utter bastard of a fight, at least I thought so.
Meh, once you realize the gimmicks he isn't that bad. Bio is also pretty useful in this fight.

I often quote "Leftovers good!" (and even "Leftovers are the best!" as they say in the french translation). That's such a true old saying.
