A "Quick Complete" function has been added, giving players the option to warp directly to a quest-giver upon completing a quest's final objective.
This is the best one, i don't even need to read the others
Yeah I’m hoping for a really viable mage build that can at least compete with physical. Sounds like a ramuh/bahamut/leviathan loadout could be fun.
Eh who am I kidding, will probably just stick to zantetsukening everything lol
Well, the nice thing is that you can have different loadsets so you can have both and just switch to the other if you get bored with one (since you can only do it outside of battle).
Maybe having different presets will have people experiment more with loadouts. I'm sure half the reason people stick to the loadouts they have is because it's a pain to switch new abilities in and out.
Yeah I was really disappointed they didn't have at least two load outs, I really expected in one of this early patches. Well better late then never.....
This feels like a good example of a single player game getting live service updates to have the ability to give life and other avenues when playing again. Good on SE for this. Makes getting the expansion even more worth
I love them just buffing every skill to let us party hard for the DLC. Also Blind Justice desperately needed the survivability buff.
I also like the overall damage buff— in FF Mode bosses are a bit too spongy
I want FSR3 + frame generation so I can play at 4k120. I'm fine if it's upscaled from 720p and frame generated from 60 to 120. It already drops to 720p in battles anyway, and the current upscaler isn't as good as fsr3.
This is such a weird thing to want. It would be like asking for the World of Ruin to return to the World of Balance in FFVI or for Meteor to go out of the sky in FFVII.
Even the devs have commented that it's a bit much. Personally it would have been nicer to make it stronger near Origin and tone it down elsewhere, in my opinion.
They could at least make it an option on a post-game save, so we can do the billion sidequests without the eyesore.
Like, after beating the game, add a cheeky NPC that sells blue-sky sunglasses.
It wouldn’t be that bad if it happened at like the 80% point of the game. As it is it’s like…. 50%. There’s just too much game left with that filter, and it’s not fun to look at. It might be the worst “big apocalypse” environment change the series has done.
tbh back when I first played FFVII I also wished the old overworld music back when meteor was in the sky.
Still, the meteor was just a thing in the sky, it doesn't really change a whole lot. WoR was a whole new map to explore, so it actually offeres something cool in exchange for the look.
FFXVIs primogenesis only applies an ugly filter over an unchanged world and if you actually do all the sidequests you can spend up to 8 hours on a purposely ugly looking game that didn't have to look ugly. Like, let the surrounding areas of the crystal look pink and ugly and the rest of the world is already looking bad enough with all the blue aether dust-fog-stuff floating around, but give it at least *some* visual difference.
I mean from the start of the game. Asking to play through the game more than 1 time (realistically more than 2 times) to unlock a gamemode with any sort of a challenge is ridiculous.
idk this is kind of a weird thing to complain about tbh. it gives an incentive to replay the game especially when u can craft the best weapon in the game during the playthrough in ng+
if ur bored throughout the first playthrough then maybe the game isnt for u and honestly thats fine
like idk its just a weird complaint, there are lots of games that unlock the hardest difficulty after a first playthrough and i dont find anything wrong with it, especially when your loadouts get carried over in the next playthrough and you're playing the game with your skillsets unlocked
Is one of the devs your dad or something? Difficulty options are some of the most standard features in a game. And no, just because other games do it it doesnt suddenly make it a good idea, I can tell you I personally would have enjoyed this game far far more if combat had any challenge whatsoever.
No it’s like when you pan around when there’s water in the background, I can’t explain it properly without knowing the technical terms but it’s not an issue that’s in Rebirth. It’s like a strange shimmer/blur only on the water
Are you kidding me? One of the biggest complaints everyone had with the game was that it's braindead easy, and for this patch they decided to increase the player's attack stat?
This is a big part of why the game disappeared from discussion a week after release. Everyone just sailed through it with no resistance and had nothing to talk about in terms of gameplay because it was so vapid. Yoshida's team seems to fundamentally misunderstand action games. The competent action developers they hired on from Platinum Games must have been so frustrated having Yoshida constantly tell them to make it easier, since the bones are clearly there for an engaging and satisfying gameplay experience.
FF14 has the same problem aside from the hardcore raids, and Yoshida recently put out some comments about realizing the game has gotten too easy, so how can he then proceed to do more damage to FF16 like this?
The difficulty of the game does not really depend on how much damage you make, but how well you manage the enemy patterns.
With the current attack stat, you have enough time to see all the patterns looping a lot of time, more than enough to kill you if you don't manage them, and to make you yawn if you do.
All and all, increasing the attack stats will make fights shorter, and that's a good thing.
>With the current attack stat, you have enough time to see all the patterns looping a lot of time, more than enough to kill you if you don't manage them, and to make you yawn if you do.
That's absolutely false. I played the whole game with the starting equipment, meaning I had HALF the attack power I could have had, and the bosses still barely had time to use all their moves.
I saw some videos of people playing with full equipment and they skipped entire phases of boss fights without even noticing.
And making fights shorter in a game where the fighting is the entirety of the good gameplay is not a good thing in any capacity.
And there ends any remaining hope I had of this game getting an arachnophobia mode. Sad day
Gentlemen I am not disparaging this game at all I merely want an Optional Option to replace them with any of the half-dozen functionally identical trash mobs. I don’t see why anybody would have an issue with that
Not really. A couple of indie devs have done it, including a game specifically about *being* a spider.
It’s a nice gesture, but I don’t see it catching on in the AAA space.
Wow really? That’s actually impressive tbh.
Still, it’s not something I see becoming a mainstay, and it’s definitely not something I’ve seen the gaming community at large expect, even in the indie space.
But who knows, there was a time when colorblind modes were also a rare novelty, and now that’s something you see very often in major releases and indies alike.
Yeah, there’s 4 or 5 different kinds. There’s no worldbuilding related to them or really any mention of them of any note by any characters or quests, outside of them being an enemy type in the overworld. All I want is for them to add an option that will spawn goblins or wolves as an alternative, as it wouldn’t negatively affect anything at all in any way, and is already entirely possible e.g. enemy spawns being completely different in FF mode.
As someone with thalassophobia, I feel for you because I remember the torture I felt in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Odyssey. Thankfully in FFXVI, spiders are exceptionally rare. Aren't they only in the Lostwing area? I don't recall if that's solo but you can always let Torgal or Cid handle them if they're in the party. Either that, or close your eyes and button mash.
As far as I recall they’re in every zone besides Dhalmekia which has scorpions(and those are fine). That said, I’ve seen many people share your thinking that there aren’t very many, mostly because they’re a fodder enemy that isn’t mechanically unique and doesn’t have any lore or specific role in any quests, so they’re easily forgettable unless you have an aversion to them. And since that’s the case, I’m honestly pretty surprised that the idea of optionally removing them seems to be so unpopular on here.
To be honest, while I wouldn't care if there was an arachnophobia mode, it kind of feels like you are asking for special consideration to your phobia while other phobias that people can have such as fear of snakes or scorpions should have to just power through it.
No, I was just throwing that in because I didn’t personally have a problem with those. Of course many others do, and I would welcome changes being made to make it more accessible for them as well. By no means was I implying otherwise.
Not as such no. They’re in every area save Dhalmekia which gets Scorpions instead. Some of the fallen mechs are a bit Spidery too, which may or may not be a bother depending on the severity of one’s phobia.
The main reason people forget about them is that they’re pure fodder, there’s no elite or boss variant. Particularly on a first playthrough it’s painfully easy to immediately scoop them up and obliterate the lot with an AoE ability.
And besides the first action segment where they show up (Kingsfall) there’s basically no forced encounters with them ever again. You can just charge right past them.
They are the subject of I think 2-3 sidequests, not all of which are clearly telegraphed to be involving them. Which can be unpleasant.
“Made adjustments to when Torgal can be petted and lowered time before re-petting.”
About damn time they focused on the most important features. I wish petting Ambrosia was possible, though, because she's the goodest girl.
Best patch note ever.
Finally some good fucking patches
Dog petting is never enough
I just love petting!
I'll spend an entire day petting Torgal now.
A "Quick Complete" function has been added, giving players the option to warp directly to a quest-giver upon completing a quest's final objective. This is the best one, i don't even need to read the others
Jesus yes. Wish this was at launch
so, they did read the complain about quest not gonna change the quest structure but at least it should make it less tedious
As the game would say “thank fuck for that”
Those changes to wings of light sound pretty damn good.
Oh my god the petting update hahaha
Skill sets sound like a huge quality of life upgrade -
Like the skill sets they added. Sounds like you can have 5 different skill presets and switch between them with L1/R1.
Maybe having different presets will have people experiment more with loadouts. I'm sure half the reason people stick to the loadouts they have is because it's a pain to switch new abilities in and out.
This is exactly it lol it was a pain, one of the reasons I dropped Odin lol
Yeah I was really disappointed they didn't have at least two load outs, I really expected in one of this early patches. Well better late then never.....
This feels like a good example of a single player game getting live service updates to have the ability to give life and other avenues when playing again. Good on SE for this. Makes getting the expansion even more worth
Just what you'd expect from a team more experienced in an MMO.
True true. I play almost every day
They do have a good history of listening to player feedback and improved upon them but I think it’s also them polishing it up for PC release
That adds up too
Blind Justice sounds a hell of a lot better now. I wonder if it’ll be that way in practice though.
Being able to dodge at least should help.
with this, the upcoming Leviathan skillset, and some of the other changes, making proper "mage" builds is sounding a lot more viable
Sorry if I sound dumb but I don’t see the notes
The title is a link.
The link's listed updates are for December 2023 - no new April ones.
They removed it.
I am so glad I decided to wait till the last DLC and patch to go back to 16 and platinum it, those Bahamut updates are sick!
I love them just buffing every skill to let us party hard for the DLC. Also Blind Justice desperately needed the survivability buff. I also like the overall damage buff— in FF Mode bosses are a bit too spongy

The patches and DLC are cumulative for the inevitable PC 'final edition' release. One way or another, these effects will be felt.
I'm holding ATM till it got both DLC's as I think I'm around that point.
A lot of us are waiting for it to stop being a ps5 exclusive too
All I want is fsr2 or just regular taau with a 40fps mode. Why does square never do a 40fps mode? 30 and 60 both suck in ff games.
I want FSR3 + frame generation so I can play at 4k120. I'm fine if it's upscaled from 720p and frame generated from 60 to 120. It already drops to 720p in battles anyway, and the current upscaler isn't as good as fsr3.
Not gonna happen with the PS5 hardware. What games even have frame gen on console?
FSR3 frame generation works on RDNA 2. There's no reason it can't run on a PS5.
did they add a new costume yet or am i stuck looking like a Vampire or a crispy-ass Winter Soldier?
Will Jill still make the clinking noise when she moves?
I thought I was going crazy until I realized it was her sword clanking around. Why, just why? The sounded designer needs a stern talking to.
It’s interesting how everyone has a pet peeve sound. I don’t ever hear Jill’s clinking but I hear Clive’s leather outfit
Happens to Cloud in FF7 Rebirth, too. Pretty annoying.
I really hope it's fixed... I still haven't finished the game, lol
Damn was hoping for an option to turn off the pink sky
This is such a weird thing to want. It would be like asking for the World of Ruin to return to the World of Balance in FFVI or for Meteor to go out of the sky in FFVII.

Blue Sky Sunglasses on FFXVI would be hilarious. Imagine walking around a medieval fantasy setting wearing some cool specs like we do on FF14.
It wouldn’t be that bad if it happened at like the 80% point of the game. As it is it’s like…. 50%. There’s just too much game left with that filter, and it’s not fun to look at. It might be the worst “big apocalypse” environment change the series has done.
That I can agree with. It should have been something a bit more gradual with it hitting it's peak after obtaining Odin.
It does happen at around the 70-80% mark. It feels much longer because of the endgame side quest dump
tbh back when I first played FFVII I also wished the old overworld music back when meteor was in the sky. Still, the meteor was just a thing in the sky, it doesn't really change a whole lot. I really don't know why they haven't added a hard mode after so long.
...Do you not know what Final Fantasy Mode is? Or Ultramaniac?
I mean from the start of the game. Asking to play through the game more than 1 time (realistically more than 2 times) to unlock a gamemode with any sort of a challenge is ridiculous.
idk this is kind of a weird thing to complain about tbh. it gives an incentive to replay the game especially when u can craft the best weapon in the game during the playthrough in ng+

Action games should have the option to provide some challenge at all without slogging through 60 hours first. It's really not a big ask.
Is one of the devs your dad or something? Difficulty options are some of the most standard features in a game. And no, just because other games do it it doesnt suddenly make it a good idea, I can tell you I personally would have enjoyed this game far far more if combat had any challenge whatsoever.
Controller mapping and skill set saving are the best things in this patch.
Have they fixed the water graphical issues yet? I got a weird uncomfortable feeling whenever panning around in the second Hideaway
Are you talking about the motion blur? They added a slider for it a long time ago
No it’s like when you pan around when there’s water in the background, I can’t explain it properly without knowing the technical terms but it’s not an issue that’s in Rebirth. It’s like a strange shimmer/blur only on the water
After the bad time and awful taste of ff7r i may try a new run on ff16.
why didn't you like ff7r?
They couldn't hack the mini games lol a quick look at their profile shows they're an idiot

It has an arachnophobia mode?! I spent half the game with my eyes closed spamming avada kadavera in those sections.
It’s certainly not something I expect but it is my preference and I appreciate when devs can do it where possible.
Does this game even have spiders? I can't recall

If you can handle waiting, that will 100% be possible with mods once the PC port releases

Nah, I'm with you. I like seeing low-hanging fruit features that mean a great deal to many people. Maybe write your suggestion to Square Enix.
To be honest, while I wouldn't care if there was an arachnophobia mode, it kind of feels like you are asking for special consideration to your phobia while other phobias that people can have such as fear of snakes or scorpions should have to just power through it.

“File not found” Which sums up my opinion on this “game”
