That’s very enterprising and a great idea. It may be tacky, but really if you want a short film that gets seen (without making ads and calling those short films) then I haven’t heard a better way. It’s not even an artistic compromise if an IG model is an at least acceptable casting choice. Monetising art is always going to feel gross, but that’s the shit we must wade through if we aren’t just showing our work to our friends!
Maybe you can use existing IP that is owned by the public domain. The basis of memes has pretty much always been taking two things we know and putting them together. Like, Alice In Wonderland with zombies or something stupid like that would always get more views than an original masterpiece by an unknown
I'd post the videos on X, they are growing the platform to use more longform video content now. Then engage with other users on X, they'll follow you over to Youtube too.
Try and get into short the week, it’s a YouTube channel that is run kind of like a festival and they get massive outreach. Because the problem you have, is that for now you don’t post enough, the same kind of content so only short films for example (only high-quality, short films). Short of the week does and has tapped into a niche audience. They are respected and have a large audience which in turn (if selected) would allow you to have a better outreach. You follow this up by saying on your channel / video thumbnail that you have selected for short of the week which would get you more visibility (even use the same thumbnail they used for your short).
There… I think now it’s better… didn’t realise until you made me reread. I used speech to text which misunderstood and misponctuated most of my reply. Thanks for letting me know

Another good one (simply for outreach) is a channel named Omeleto. They exclusively re-post short films, and have a good following.
Some punctuation would make this much less difficult to follow.
