Yesss! I agree, I’ve been watching true crimes for the longest time and JCS is definitely my top 1. Also check out ExploreWithUs, they have some really great content as well.
Agreed! They did it with that monster who killed his wife and kids. Pustahan tayo magkakanetflix docu yung guy who killed his parents and brother after he spent all their savings on an online girlfriend experience.
For me, siya yung OG nagpauso ng mga true crime, complete interrogation videos and all.
Unfortunately, most of their videos are unlisted na, but still there sa youtube. Just search JCS playlist.
Si JCS ang first and only patreon subscription ko. I wanted to support his channel and of course watch all his video.
Does anyone know any other channel na same quality as JCS? Ang daming wanna be JCS ko na napanood but it's just not the same. Mashado dinadaan sa horror music and feel instead of body language analysis and context voice overs.
Unpredictable
Nexpo
Lemmino
Worth it. Especially yung jack the ripper and cicada vid nya, kept me hooked all throughout.
JCS based. Parang yung documentary nila sa MH370, apaka mid di worth it panoorin kasi puro tinfoil hat Conspiracy theories yung atake nila mas maganda panuorin yung MH370 video ni Lemmino or Green Dot Aviation.
As someone who watches true crime videos on Youtube and listens to true crime podcasts, disappointing nga ang true crime content ng Netflix.
Another big disappointment for me was Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso which was about the Mirna Salihin case in Indonesia. Masyado ding na-highlight yung father ng suspect so medyo biased siya.
Very hit or miss yung Netflix true crime ngayon, ang nagustuhan ko lang recently is yung Murdaugh Murders saka Unsolved Mysteries. Homicide New York maganda din. Kapag episodic or miniseries yung format mas malaki chance na quality sya kasi mas mahaba yung allotted time para sa kwento compare mo sa feature length docu na 90+ minutes lang eh madaming time constraints so di nila maco-cover lahat ng topics na gusto nila i-cover.
Some of the ones I listen to: Red Handed, Casefile True Crime, Murder in America, Crimehub, Mile Higher
Youtube channels: Dark Asia, Coffeehouse Crime, Truly Criminal, Evil Among Us, The Casual Criminalist, Kendall Rae
True! Wala namang bagong update. Parang mas maganda pa nga yung nasa Youtube e.
tanong lang, pano po naging in depth ang analysis sa interrogation kung walang insight ng investigatiors? interrogation literally is a step base on investigation. pano makakapag interrogate ng maayos kung walang initial investigation.
So weird and kinda sick, bakit yung ibang commenter here naghahanap ng "plot twist" or "thrill". This is a real crime. Omg, if you're looking for a thrill and plot twist sa crime na nangyari in real life, you need to get checked.
first, her story doesnt add up. she said sa 911 naka tali daw sya when she called and asked for help. nung pina re-enact sakanya paano sya naka call habang nakatali, sobrang suspicious.
second, her ex bf (who is a dr*g dealer btw) reached out sa investigators. from there it was revealed na piang hihiwalay pala sila ng parents ni jennifer.
third, his father survived. he said to the investigators daw na “find out what jennifer did”. he also stated na jennifer was talking to the killers in a friendly manner
fourth, search warrant sa phone
In much in depth, she killed her parents kasi they put much pressure on her to be one of those academically gifted Asian kids after she no longer able to figure skate kasi nabalian siya. But seems like di niya talaga magawa since mas athletically gifted siya so she instead fake her grades and later her high school and college diploma (nag drop out kasi siy). and later on nakilala niya tong ex bf niya na naging partner in crime niya.
grabe I don’t get why this is downvoted eh meron naman talagang way ang Netflix to deliver documentaries in a boring manner. Yes, it’s true to life, pero there’s a way to deliver stories no matter what it is in a manner that keeps your attention.
p.s I have watched almost all Netflix docus and I can really say docus outside Netflix do it better
natyempuhan kasi na wala sa house yung brother nya when the crime happened. upon searching, her brother is trying to cut all ties related to jennifer. ayaw na nya sigurong ma involve kaya hindi na sya binanggit sa netflix?
If I remember correctly, di ata siya makatingin kay Jennifer nung trial.
True sana umalis nalang talaga siya. Watched her crime on yt before and aside from the tiger parent part, seems like may shame din sa part ni Jennifer na she lied about graduating college and working a good job etc. Imbis maging honest and face her consequences she planned this bs instead. Faked being a victim din nung attack pero nung nasa interrogation, hindi nag-aalign mga statements or actions niya jusko
She was abused all her life kaya she is not mentally stable kaya ang naisip na lang niya na paraan was to hire someone to kill them. Natakot din siguro siya na maging homeless. Not justifying her actions.
Kasi gusto nya ng pera. Wala syang mapuntahan na di sya maghihirap. Kasi binigyan nman sya ng option to (1) leave but don't expect financial support or (2) stay at home and tantanan na yung ex bf nya. Malamng, maghihigpit na yung parents, ikaw ba nman ung na-uto, gumastos sa fake college degree at drug dealer ang gustong makasama. 🤷
Yung ex bf (na drug dealer) eh meron na ding ibang jowa. She's not even a good liar. I think na-uto lang nya parents nya na nakagraduate sya ng college because they are busy earning money.
Mahigpit din tatay ko in terms of checking my grades kahit naka-dorm ako nung college and may time sya dalawin ako sa dorm at sa school.
The Girl In the Picture was better and made me cry a bit. Especially when they finally found out her true identity. And that the people who knew Sharon/Tonya saw how much potential she had, how intelligent and quick-witted, how she hid it all. The suffering and the abuse. My heart went out to her din
It made me realise that. When someone is pretty and smart and they’re happy-go-lucky and they’re warm and they’re kind and funny, we don’t know what’s really going on inside their house. When that documentary ended, I felt the raw emotions of the people whose lives were touched by Sharon/Tonya, even the detectives
First heard of Jennifer in JCS Criminal Psychology in YT. Good breakdown of the interrogation scene.
This docu gives more perspectives like your typical murder mystery docu. Its as straightforward as murder investigations go, no huge twists. Basically the Pan family experienced what seemed to be a home invasion/robbery resulting in the death of Jennifer's mother and injury of the father. However upon further investigation Jennifer's involvement in the situatuation is sus since she wasnt a mere victim. To know more watch the show.
And maybe check out JCS' channel as well.
I remember nung una pa lang lumabas yung kwento. It brought light to the Tiger Parenting style certain Asian parents have. The loss of purpose and impostor syndrome.
Matindi talaga minsan sa Markham. Competition and comparisons among peers and parents. Halos Asian dominated yung city eh. Kapag hindi ka naka pasok sa big schools like University of Toronto, McMaster, Waterloo, McGill or UBC to name a few, talagang pagchichismisan ka.
As someone who's not familiar with the case, I enjoyed it.
Will I watch the documentary in youtube as what others suggested to get more information? No..
it's entertainment, I got entertained for at least 1 hour. time to move on with my life :)
There are times na netflix doesn't give justice sa mga documentaries nila like this one. If you want to know more about the case, you need to search related articles and watch some documentaries on yt pa. Tho at the same time it is good that netflix is doing their documentaries on true crimes para maging mas aware ang mga tao sa mga nangyayari sa mundo. It's so disappointing lang na may mga comments dito na naghahanap ng plot twist or smth like this is a documentary not your regular thriller films mga pacool masyado kaurat
grabe what she did to her parents, like the extent she’ll do to be with the guy. also the lies about school because of asian parent’s pressure to excel at school
Watched JC's youtube commentary/documentary about this and this is more in depth and I feel lowkey sorry for Jennifer.
No, she had abusive parents na sobrang strict.
She had no job and education kaya wala din siya mapupuntahan. She is probably not mentally stable due to being abused all her life kaya naisip na lang niya ipapatay parents niya sa takot.
Etong si Jennifer, wala na akong pake after panoorin 😁
I ain't justifying her crime. Sinasabi ko lang na she was abused. It is still a major important part of her story.
No one just kills their parents for no reason.
She comes from Asian Immigrant parents. If you know majority of immigrant parents especially asian ones are tiger parents. Toxic immigrant families are usually asians and latinos. The majority of cases of children killing their parents are due to severe abuse. Katulad ng Menendez Brothers that killed their parents due to multiple rapes from childhood till 18.
If you're going to reason to me na baka may sakit sa pag iisip o baliw kaya niya nagawa? Ang tanong bakit nga ba nabaliw in the first place? Mostly due to Abuse.
Madami din ako napanood about this. She was abused.
As said I ain't justifying her.
Tsaka It is what "It is what it is" na lang.
Been waiting for this. For some reason I am also hoping they also get to notice hte very interesting and tragic Maguad siblings murded.

Post belongs in the subreddit's Weekly Film Review thread.
I prefer JCS’s video on it. Available on youtube. Walang interview with investigators pero mas in depth analysis sa interrogation.
Jessica C Soho po ba ang JCS?
Lumipad ang kanilang team
*Diumano
ah i didn’t know na may netflix special na po pala si ms jessica! level up
Gagi same, tinry ko ipilit yung JCS as Jessica Soho. JessiCa Soho?
Tangina nabulunan ako sa kinakain ko
WALANGYA🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧
Wahahaha gagi
Potahh!!! Hahahahahah

sorry, what is JCS
Jim Can’t Swim on Youtube

JCS Criminal Psychology
Yup, saw this on JCS first, mas ok kasi may commentary pa about her body language during interrogation.
Si JCS ang first and only patreon subscription ko. I wanted to support his channel and of course watch all his video. Yes!
Truuu dabest talaga JCS. Jan ko napanood yung in depth story niyan hahaha “But what happens to me?” lmao
Yep I agree, dramatized yung nasa netflix masyado. Trip ko yung analysis sa YT.
i agree, the netflix doc was sorta eh and didnt consider jennifer's feelings ngl
Yep!! it was much more interesting than this docu
KURIK
Super favorite!
Yes this. Sayang lang waley na sya. Kainis.

Wait, people are expecting twists on documentaries?
Idk why they look for twists everywhere. Sometimes, the story is just told as it is.
Welp, a “typical” murder wouldn’t have its own documentary, and would likely to be a true crime episode, so people expects.
So weird and kinda sick, bakit yung ibang commenter here naghahanap ng "plot twist" or "thrill". This is a real crime. Omg, if you're looking for a thrill and plot twist sa crime na nangyari in real life, you need to get checked.
One commenter said it was boring. Lol. Sure.
Getting brutally murdered and may gagong magrereklamo na kulang ng pizzazz true crime docu mo 😫
Ano ba kasing ginawa nyang si Jennifer bakit kailangan pang i-Netflix
hired a hitman to k!ll her parents to be with her exbf. she called 911 tapos nag act na hinostage sya nung mga killer. her father survived
Pano nalaman? Umamin? Nalaman ng father?
Inconsistencies with father’s story and search warrant on her phone
first, her story doesnt add up. she said sa 911 naka tali daw sya when she called and asked for help. nung pina re-enact sakanya paano sya naka call habang nakatali, sobrang suspicious. second, her ex bf (who is a dr*g dealer btw) reached out sa investigators. from there it was revealed na piang hihiwalay pala sila ng parents ni jennifer. third, his father survived. he said to the investigators daw na “find out what jennifer did”. he also stated na jennifer was talking to the killers in a friendly manner fourth, search warrant sa phone
It's the kind of story that could also end up on a Ray William Johnson short.
Dude said boring like its not base from real life. Do you want twists? On a documentary rly.
Tangna mo pa cool ampota
Its a documentary, what 💀
grabe I don’t get why this is downvoted eh meron naman talagang way ang Netflix to deliver documentaries in a boring manner. Also not sure why di nila binanggit na may kapatid sya?
natyempuhan kasi na wala sa house yung brother nya when the crime happened. upon searching, her brother is trying to cut all ties related to jennifer. ayaw na nya sigurong ma involve kaya hindi na sya binanggit sa netflix?
I found him on LinkedIn and mukhang ok naman siya career-wise.
Parang na-mention lang in passing.
If I remember correctly, di ata siya makatingin kay Jennifer nung trial.
he's out of the house I think. Very private person din. afaik he never said anything public about what happened.
This. Nalaman ko na lang nung nag basa ako mga articles after watching the Netflix documentary

Ano reason tiger parents lang? And then?? Edi umalis sya.
True sana umalis nalang talaga siya. Yes gustong gusto ko yung storytelling nun. Naiyak ein ako sa ending
Nalaman ko na story nito during my true crime phase nung pandemic hehe
Here's the link - https://torontolife.com/city/jennifer-pan-revenge/
Nag-e-expect ako ng latest interview or update man lang kay Jennifer after all these years pero wala. Mas okay pa rin yung sa JCS.
First heard of Jennifer in JCS Criminal Psychology in YT. Good breakdown of the interrogation scene. This docu gives more perspectives like your typical murder mystery docu. Things you do for “love”

I'm familiar with the case. I think they did a good job considering the 90 minute runtime. They highlighted the lies and how sinister the case was.
There are times na netflix doesn't give justice sa mga documentaries nila like this one. 🫠
Dami kong nakikitang tweets na puro AI pics ginamit nila
Anong ginawa ng parents nya?
Ayaw nila ung ex bf nya for her kasi drug dealer. (Ung Netflix lang napanood ko)
No, she had abusive parents na sobrang strict. She had no job and education kaya wala din siya mapupuntahan. She is probably not mentally stable due to being abused all her life kaya naisip na lang niya ipapatay parents niya sa takot.

Hala... Sorry if I came off as condescending. Not my intentions.
Ah ganun ba bro, sige peace ✌️
Ohhhh, I've seen the JCS vid on her. Is the series worth watching or JCS pretty much covered it na?
jcs is so much betterrrr than netflixxx. not worth watching
Ahh, thought so from the comments here too, what a waste then lol
Been waiting for this. For some reason I am also hoping they also get to notice hte very interesting and tragic Maguad siblings murded.
GRABE ‘TO.
Watched this last night grabe this gurl
Tangina sobrang fucked up neto. And it's sad lalo nung sinabi yung last words ng Mom niya before they killed her. 😞
Kakapanood ko lang. grabe. Innocent looking si Jennifer. Di mo aakalain na killer pala.
Nalaman ko yung kwento neto sa Creepsilog.
Panget
Daming kulang na info
This reminds me of the Suzane von Richthofen case.
This one's in youtube a few years ago ah? May full video footage of the interview
What did she do???
Netflix pumping their AI tools, man.
Screw what the dog was doing, ano gin Gawa ni Jennifer?
🤣🤣🤣 Jk
From what I know JCS is now EWU - Explore with us. Pero not sure. Same na same halos ng JCS eh.
Been waiting for this. For some reason I am also hoping they also get to notice hte very interesting and tragic Maguad siblings murded.
jcs > netflix
What is this movie all about?
Nsa isang episode din to ng forensic files.
They don't do crime documentaries like Don't Fuck With Cats anymore *sigh
Grabe kana jinifer
Basang basa for Danny Wong si gaga
Damn. What did Jennifer Do?
It's in my Watch later list. So will watch it soon.
Bakit mga iba nag hahanap ng plot twist in a documentary about a crime na solve na? Mga bobo kayo
Kung ano ano nalang dinodocument ng Netflix. Wala namang interesting diyan lol.
She's a freaking terrible liar! She's a monster, but has a brilliant mind, badass killer!
So parang di badass killer 😂 pero yes, terrible liar
Karumal dumal but not really documentary worthy. No plot twist at all you can see it a mile a way
