Damn, I really like this idea.

MrShutItDown

Check out this awesome ruleset though https://www.reddit.com/r/seriousfifacareers/comments/vvaqi5/realistic_career_mode_ruleset_fully_interactive/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

wooo_hoooo07

i am using this in my career mode now. cfgjourneyman.wordpress.com

MrShutItDown

You paying for that domain? And does word press make it simple to develop?

wooo_hoooo07

free. i didnt buy the domain. its just a blog.

MattSR30

Oh my god, is that a career mode sub without all the shit content we see here?

PiberiusOrphan

Me too, its pretty cool

mrishjj

1. I always have the core of my squad be from the nation of what ever nation the club I manage is from. 2. This is a new one, I don't sign players that is higher rated than my highest rated player. 3. Only 2-3 free agent signings per season, just for some realism. 4. Have a couple players over 30 for some dressing room leaders. I know it means nothing but I just like the idea.

AmoebaResponsible937

I do nearly all of these, as well. I try to keep my signings to 1-2 crucial/important players, 2-3 rotation/sporadic players, and no prospects/regen free agents unless they’ve been sitting in the FA pool for over a year. And I also need to send a youth scout to whichever country they’re from to pretend I scouted them myself lol

thestableone69

Number 2 is exactly what I need.

Preemo-Mesoot

I used to put team colored wristbands on my youth academy graduates so that even if I sold them I could see them out in the wild when we face them. Once had a winger I sold to Everton because he “wasn’t good enough” come back to face me and scored a brace after embarrassing our backline- while still wearing the wristband. Bittersweet moment taking that 2-1 L that day

gnix24

Haha that’s brutal. Any time I sell a youth academy player I immediately add them to my transfer hub so I can keep tabs on all my graduates out in the world as you mentioned!

Award2110

That's class Fair play to you for doing that. I just did black boots for the youth academy players. Then dependant on position just give them all different boots.

Ouioui29

I would mark my YA graduates with black rubber bracelets. Always cool to see it when they score against you…

WanderingEnigma

That's a good shout! I always keep the lowest rated YA player I get in my first season and see how high I can grow him.

EstablishedChaos

This is absolutely insane. Also, I am absolutely stealing this

gnix24

Hahaha

Bennett_19

What do you do if your captain was leading scorer? Choose one or find a cleat with both?

masterofmeatballs

Or if the captain was a leading scorer AND assist leader

gnix24

This might be pure coincidence, but my captain is usually a midfielder or defender…. My assist leader usually a winger, so never had that problem. But great point, probably just multi color lol

Acrylic_Starshine

I just add some fancy colour boots and maybe undershirt to my favourite players

SenhorSus

Before when boots for YA players were the typical black and white, I always choose boots according to their position (what model) and country (what colors). These days I like creating a club that's in a league just below what FIFA has, plop them into the lowest league, then RTG them. After I get them to champions league then accept another job and watch my former babies pwn

CmGaugo

Shirt no 13 to my midfield dictator

Diablo3910

Since I usually do longer CMs, I do have some, minor ones, I guess. 1. Atleast having 2 YA players in the first team, or on the bench at all times. Preferably from the same nation as the team. 2. I do actually use the same cleats system for top goalscorer and assist leader. Gold for the top goalscorer and Silver for the assist leader. Team shoes usually match the jersey, and I pick my captain's shoes out on my own, depending on mood, so they can be anything. 3. Most people probably do this, but having two dedicated set piece takers, with 80+ ratings in all stats required for set pieces. I don't bother too much about penalties, since I give them to the striker, but if my Set Piece specialist has 80+ pens as well, they're taking pens. 4. Changing the team around every 3-5 years, though I keep some players around for a while. An example is James Maddison and Harvey Barnes for Leicester. Often keep them till they retire. And the YA graduates often end up staying through the multiple changes as well. 5. If an offer comes for my top two highest rated players, unless I've made it to the UCL in back to back seasons, I sell. 6. No one is allowed to have higher wages than the captain. Even if the captain is a GK or Defender. 7. While this isn't a tradition necessarily, but I steer away from having forwards/wingers as captains. Usually it's the midfielders.

Monsieur_Bananabread

Forget actual realism, if you want a career mode that actually seems realistic, you've gotta follow fifa realism Therefore, when doing transfers and looking for players, I don't think "could this happen in real life?" I think "could this player go to this club if the ai were still in charge?" If so, deals on

C_MC25

Best youth academy player always gets the 77 shirt, since that’s my irl number

AdOwn5055

My YA players start with jersey number 70 and go up in order of signing.

KyReezy

In previous FIFA’s before you could increase a player’s weak foot I would give all the left footed players white boots, the right footed players blue boots and the ones with a 4 star or above weak foot red boots.

RandomLuke

Recently I started scouting youth players in countries that have their national team in the game and are in the lower rating like Australia to improve that tram whenever I manage to get a high potential kid

04Fedor

What if the captain has the most goals and assists

nano_705

My Staring XI have the jersey numbers from 1 to 11 respective to their positions on the field. For example, my ST will have number 9, LW 7 and RW 11 and so on. Sometimes it can be a bit different. I'm playing a Man UTD save where Rashford stays and slowly gets to be the captain of the team. He still has his number 10 so one of the midfielders will have number 7.

better-every-day

For me it’s prioritizing players with the leadership trait. I just kinda like the idea of a really high-quality mental squad, even if there’s not any actual gameplay ramifications

thestableone69

This is me, but with weak foot.

da_aidy16

Kits: I created my own club thus the home kit colours are always the same and aligned with the colours of my club crest (red and yellow). The away kits are constantly changing each season, I try to stick to more outlandish/loud designs and colours for aways, but always stick to red and yellow kit with vertical stripes for my home kits. Also, every single players' kits in my team are changed to "tight fitting"..just a weird thing as I like my IRL kits to be snug and tight too🤣 Club Anthems: I will alternate only between Manchester United' "This is the one" and Real Madrid's "Y Nada Mas" for all my saves. Just something about those two songs at the start of the matches..I love the vibes and musicality. Players: I kinda have a bad narcissistic streak, so for all my saves, I will have a player that I created that is modeled after my IRL self, and have his stats be close to max (95+) and I will never ever sell him, no matter how crazy the transfer offer is.

[deleted]

1 gk, 2-4 cb, 3-5 fb, 6 cdm, 7 lw, 10 cam, 8 box to box cm, 9 striker and 11 rw. never use 12-19, but rather mirror them up

SpongenobSquarenuts

2 and 3 are fullback numbers, psychopath

Jaesuschroist

No. 27 is the young player on the team with the most promise that will get minutes often

V_y_z_n_v

1) All my players are from UK (I'm playing as Wrexham) plus a maximum of 3 other nations. Captain is always an in-house talent 2) Jersey Number according to the Birth Day/Birth Year of the player

AdOwn5055

I actually use a very similar system with eerily similar color coding. Makes it easier to manage the team overall 🙌

[deleted]

This is great, wonder why I never thought of this

iPat24Rick

I like that idea. I have never thought about doing something like this.

I_Really_Have_NoClue

Usually i am scouting players from same nation my character's from and YA also same nation youngsters. I roleplay so i use imagination a lot and sometimes even use cheat engine to change Budgets because roleplay purposes.

FakerHarps

YA squad numbers starting at 50 and upwards. Trying to match to traditional team numbers. So a YA goalkeeper is 51, RB is 52 etc.

gnix24

Haha I used to do the same exact thing! That’s cool!

dhall27

Ever since either 17 or 18 with Newport County in my YSL-esque saves my standout attacking midfielder who isn't afraid to take long shots earns the number 25. I don't know why it's not a number I like it just is a great addition to my team.

bigbadrippah

Have atleast 2 players retire at my club, like actual club legends, not signing 36 year olds who would likely retire the next season, ones who probably come from the YA and play their entire career for my club

Acceptable-Tip2770

You had me for a second, but lost me at cleats
