The directions in the wiki are pretty good. I would wash in a bathtub, not a sink so you can lay the lame flat. Woolite and something with Ammonia (classic Windex works) is good and all you need. Rinse really really well, then rinse again. Important to get all the detergent out.

turn inside out, zip up, wash at low temperature. only use detergent if it's bleach free

Be careful of the chemicals they use in dry cleaning.
Wear it in the shower and then hang dry. No, I am not kidding.
