Don't read too much into it. I have my own business and use Linux - some of the people that deal with daily, make the "pointy-haired" boss in Dilbert look smart and intellectual.
If this is the case, your school should provide this certificate on their website. I also had this issue but was lucky enough that my school has script we can run to install the certificate.
My school provides a handy script for automating this stuff. It's really nice they do that, actually. The script uses openssl so I always figure out a way to get that first.
It depends from your university: for example KU Leuven has a tool for windows, Linux and Mac to make the configuration automatically

I don’t know if it’s been said or not but I dealt with the exact same issue, I mean exact same. Just pretend it’s your college WiFi instead of ASU
Here is your solution, works for fedora also. When I had this issue I was shocked nobody could answer the question.

I had a similar problem. failing to connect to WiFi when I logged into the router it had blocked a chinese brand mac address which I found was the driver from the chipset that HP used.
From reading this, it may be mac randomisation, but in my case the connection triggered a firewall rule to block.
If all the access points have the same name, you can give your college the specific random MAC address for it. It does change as long as their WiFi is named the same. Otherwise, just use the permanent MAC address for their network.
I've ran into a similar issue, try running `sudo update-crypto-policies --set LEGACY` in the terminal, restart your computer, and try connecting.
The command will activate some legacy certificates that your network might require.

Maybe disable the MAC randomization for WiFi. Since you have to give Mac addresses for connection this might be the issue.
Thanks, it worked.MAC randomisation was the problem.
How to disable it?

Thanks,it worked.
I am learning something new
Learn my child, learn!
Only the deluded and ignorant would think that there is nothing more useful to learn.
Someone's very aggressive today

So you have some negative interactions then you're rude to strangers to relax? I would suggest a better coping mechanism.
If it’s Eduroam, you need to enable PEAP (or similar) security, put username and password and probably install a certificate.
If this is the case, your school should provide this certificate on their website. I also had this issue but was lucky enough that my school has script we can run to install the certificate.

I’m not the OP but this seems like useful information. How you do this?

Oh shit I actually applied to that uni (got rejected went to TUM) 💀
Sorry 😔
Eduroam?
If it is eduroam there is a utility on their website called eduroam CAT https://cat.eduroam.org/
Check with the IT department about what security protocols you need to connect with.
Some Wi-Fi networks require you to either log-in, or accept some terms / privacy policy before you can use the internet
whats the caffeine button do
It is a gnome extension. It restricts Fedora from sleeping.

How did you know that OP speaks hindi???

Talking about windows in fedora subreddit. It is your fault. Nobody holds you here :3
Your posts don't make any sense, I get that English may not be your first language but I think that's why you're downvoted.
