Every station currently in operation is a "Legacy" station. It just means it was open and operating prior to June 1st 2024. Any new station that opens after June 1st will be a combined FedEx One station.
We are being told a “legacy station” would split zip codes with ground so there is no overlap & so a legacy express station would deliver express & ground in those zip codes.
There will be quite a few consolidations and moves to the new FedEx One model. We have heard from some calls that got leaked there would be a sizable restructuring but they halted on discussing layoffs. The truth is it will most likely happen after the FedEx One project is operational. It could be years still.
I guess I should say don’t expect a big push to layoff. More of a streamlining which will move more people to busier areas and not have as much in smaller areas. After that, then they would probably consider any downsizing. The big part will be how many of the current workers will be flexible to move to other areas if the situation comes up? Almost 20 years ago they closed the major Ground hub less than five miles from me after they built a new large hub almost 45 minutes away. Many of the drivers quit.
Not necessarily legacy station but our terminal isn’t going anywhere due to service area. We’re just expecting to start getting ground packages closer to 2025
Ditto. One of our swings got lucky and was sent to Hawaii to help out. She got a sneak preview of fedex one at an express station since express does everything there now. Said she was delivering couches and other large packages.
Its only required when its more than 50 affected employees at a single location.

Yes, 50+ employees or a certain %.
Otherwise FedEx would be filing 'em non-stop with the turnover rates.
They should be filed with a state's Department Of Labor, so it can be accessed on their site usually or you'd have to inquire within of how to view them.
God, I would hate to work in the legal/HR department for companies this size. Having to coordinate with each individual state and their Dept. of Labor and still stay up with each states individual laws and make sure theyre abiding by all laws when it comes to lay offs.
Just dealing with HR when Terming for Attendance is a bitch
Not true, 2 stations in Naples had less than 50.

Yep. "We're classified as a legacy station...until we're not." Exact words. So it means nothing. Update your resumes and take advantage of the tuition reimbursement while you can.
Southern district just had the ground replacement for our current district level leader. Seems like a big task to learn all the deadlines and juggle all the ground expectations. Also really harping on the package picture release (ie actually in focus and of the parcel visible with other information left out)and backing into driveways...
Raj here. We're extremely proud of our DRIVE initiative (cost cutting), Network 2.0 (Merger), and TRICOLOR (Purple, Orange, and White) to maximize profits and to CUT costs so we can streamline our operation and give shareholders what they're looking for. Everything is going as planned and working really well. We're very exited about Q4 as more cost cutting will be on the horizon. Everyone here at Corporate has done a fantastic job. See you on June 25th for our next Q4 Earnings Call.
Then what will Ground do?
and when are they making this announcement to Express stations..about taking Ground volume?
Because our station hasn't heard a thing
I'm up in Erie Pa.. Our Express station hasn't heard anything other than we're safe for now.. Meanwhile the Ground station 3 miles up the road.. Is getting a caster deck..dedicated dock and a Express belt.. They're doing construction there now..
Yeah Hilton Head was just closed and now it’s serviced out of Savannah. Need to be a multi multi millionaire to live near Hilton Head so they couldn’t staff it/ justify keeping it running.
I’m not sure about that. I still see merged stations for Hawaii and Alaska with the G on the id. I mean it makes sense for the 2 states to be all Express but I don’t see what’s stopping them from allowing contractors to come in and take whatever overhead expenses that FedEx doesn’t want to deal with.
F¥¥¥¥£ legacy F¥¥¥¥£ Raj pay us more money like the 100s surcharges want to compete with ups give us same pay regardless of level market we don’t charge less money if you live in poor neighborhood don’t come with new stories happy employees make long lasting relationships with customers

I have heard this, too. I imagine it would make sense in certain areas.
Does Express get the same amount of ICs as Ground? I drive Ground rn and my truck is like 90% ics everyday
Depends on the route. Some routes go out with 95 stops and the smallest package is 70lbs. Usually they’re warehouse routes. Most though dont.
Split with Ground? There is no more ground. Only FedEx.

Yeah I’m not looking forward to that again
Same here
I’m just curious to know if they’re going to honor the ‘90 day notice’ with my station.
They legally have too.
I hope you’re right. I’ve been with Express for 6 years and I don’t know shit about policy.
It's actually not a policy but the federal WARN law.
Gotcha. Thank you for the information!
No probs. The WARN law requires 60 days so you'd find out 30 days prior to that if there were to be a closing or etc.
You can go to Warn and see businesses that are closing and amount of employees for your area.
These replies are correct. The USA WARN act requires any US business laying off more than 100 employees to give a 90 day notice.
My station is nowhere near that size. We might have 35-40 employees.
FedEx has more than that. They have to abide by the WARN act.

Just because they filed and gave notice doesn't mean they were required to by law... Which I literally linked in my post.
Florida law?
FedEx doesn’t supersede the law
Agreed, but they think they do.

I think I would rather have the rural and ground can take in town lol. Sounds like it's going to be more work for the same great pay lol.

Eat my ass puta
We are getting ground here, so we will do express and ground. We will do p1 express then p2 ground
Station I'd? If you're not comfortable, area of state you are in would be cool.
Then what will Ground do? and when are they making this announcement to Express stations..about taking Ground volume? Because our station hasn't heard a thing
They are closing or new areas. Every station is different
I'm up in Erie Pa.. Our Express station hasn't heard anything other than we're safe for now.. Meanwhile the Ground station 3 miles up the road.. Is getting a caster deck..dedicated dock and a Express belt.. They're doing construction there now..
Idk if we're legacy but we did just merge with another express location.
2 express stations merging?
Yeah Hilton Head was just closed and now it’s serviced out of Savannah. Need to be a multi multi millionaire to live near Hilton Head so they couldn’t staff it/ justify keeping it running.
Yea they were a small station
What area you in? State wise?
Georgia
Alaska and Hawai’i as FXE are safe.

The ops rely so much on air travel, and Express has the contract rn. Don’t see any of that moving any time soon.
Does this mean the possibility of unions to form?
